Chapter 423: Bring Huo Mianmian Home
"You don’t need to thank me." Tang Xiao helped Huo Mianmian out of the capsule. "I’m helping you to help myself, Young Miss Huo."
Huo Mianmian smiled. "Whatever your reason for helping me, I owe you a debt of gratitude. Although my Huo Clan isn’t a prominent clan, like the Dugu and Situ Clans, but we have our capabilities, and we can help you with some things."
The old woman smiled broadly when she saw that Huo Mianmian had returned to normal; she wiped the tears from her old eyes.
"Alright," Tang Xiao then asked. "How did you fall into Shangguan Qingyue’s hands?"
Huo Mianmian’s expression turned ugly and furious after Tang Xiao mentioned Shangguan Qingyue. "Back then, she was very nice, and the two of us became very close, like real sisters. However, I didn’t expect that she was an enemy in the dark, and her subordinates ambushed me when we were out together. After they captured me, she forced me to drink a liquid, and my mind turned blank because of it."
"Hmm?" Tang Xiao frowned. "Do you know anything about that liquid?"
"If I’m not mistaken, it’s the Forgetful Soul Elixir." Tang Xiao found it strange that the name and effects of the liquid didn’t match. "Even though the name is like that, its true effect is to suppress a person’s mind, and we will become like dolls."
"Do you remember everything that happened since you were kidnapped by Shangguan Qingyue?"
Huo Mianmian nodded. "Even though the liquid suppressed my mind and rendered me unable to move, I have a clear recollection of everything. After you helped me recover, all the suppressed memories of the past years flooded my mind, and I remember everything clearly. When I return to my clan, I will meet my father and Uncle Jiuyou, and I will tell them everything."
"I think that’s good." Tang Xiao nodded in satisfaction. "By the way, my name is Tang Xiao, and I am younger than you.
"Tang Xiao... Tang Clan... Why have I never heard of that clan before, Brother?"
"There is no Tang Clan in this realm, and I come from another realm, so it’s natural that you don’t know about my clan." Huo Mianmian nodded understandingly at Tang Xiao. "Actually, I have a personal matter regarding Shangguan Qingyue, and I heard about you from Situ Lingxi, so I immediately searched for your location and freed you."
Huo Mianmian was surprised to hear Situ Lingxi’s name from Tang Xiao’s mouth. "Are you close to Young Miss Situ, Brother?"
"She is my future wife."
"Huh?" Huo Mianmian was stunned, staring at Tang Xiao with wide eyes. "Young Miss Situ should be Sun Weitian’s fiancée, isn’t she? How could she be your future wife?"
"Haha," Tang Xiao laughed softly. "Things changed in the past few days, and Sun Weitian will soon die at the hands of a powerful female beast."
Huo Mianmian was shocked to hear that. "Is Sun Weitian really going to die soon?"
"Yes," Tang Xiao nodded. "He is still in the hands of that female beast, and I’m sure he will die in a few days. Due to certain circumstances, Situ Lingxi started a relationship between us, and I responded to her."
"Humph! I’m glad to hear that bastard will die soon! After he dies, no other woman will suffer because of him!" Tang Xiao was amused to hear the anger in Huo Mianmian’s tone. "By the way, did you know that Young Miss Situ is an extremely jealous woman, Brother?"
"I know that, but she has started to change, so I decided to accept her." Tang Xiao pointed to the old woman. "Since she’s been taking care of you for several years, I brought her with us."
Huo Mianmian looked at the old woman, ran over to her, and hugged her tightly. "Thank you for taking care of me over the past few years, Aunt Guan. If it weren’t for you, I might have died long ago."
Aunt Guan hugged Huo Mianmian in return while gently rubbing her back. ’I’m glad you’re back to normal, Little Miss.’
After a while, Huo Mianmian released Aunt Guan from her arms and held her shoulders. "Aunt Guan, you must come with me to my Huo Clan, and you will stay by my side like the past few years."
Since she was mute, Aunt Guan nodded at Huo Mianmian with a smile. After all, she was old and had no family left, and the Young Miss Huo was like her own daughter.
"That’s great!" Huo Mianmian exclaimed happily before turning to Tang Xiao. "Are you going to take us to the Taixu Kingdom now, Brother?"
Tang Xiao nodded. "I promised to meet Situ Lingxi tomorrow morning, so I’ll take you two back to the Taixu Kingdom now."
"Okay." Then, Huo Mianmian teased him. "Did you fall in love with Young Miss Situ because of her beauty and sexiness, Brother?"
"Hahaha," Tang Xiao laughed. "Actually, I already have several wives, Young Miss Huo."
Huo Mianmian waved her hand. "Stop addressing me as a young miss, Brother. You are my savior; you can address me as a sister."
"Alright, Sister Huo."
"Do you really have several wives, Brother? Does Young Miss Situ know about them?" Huo Mianmian curiously asked.
"Situ Lingxi already knows about them, and she’s quite close to one of my wives." Huo Mianmian was truly surprised by that because the woman was acutely jealous. "I’ll take you two out of here now, and we’ll head straight to the Taixu Kingdom. By the way, please don’t mention this place to anyone else, including your family, Sister Huo."
Huo Mianmian looked around the area, and she was shocked to see all the equipment she had never seen before. She immediately understood Tang Xiao’s reason for asking her to keep it a secret. "Don’t worry, Brother. I don’t want to give you any trouble, so I won’t tell a single soul about this place."
"That’s good." Tang Xiao turned to Xiao Ai. "Inform Qingge and the others that I will go to the Taixu Kingdom."
"Yes, Master."
.
.
.
After they exited the ark, Tang Xiao enveloped Huo Mianmian and Aunt Guan with his void qi and took them to the Taixu Kingdom through the void.
Since the Song Kingdom and the Taixu Kingdom were on the same island, and the distance between the two kingdoms was not too far, they arrived there about an hour later.
Tang Xiao took the two women out of the void. "Where is your Huo Clan located, Sister Huo?"
"Over there." Huo Mianmian pointed towards the eastern outskirt. "My Huo Clan isn’t a prominent clan, so we live on the outskirts of the capital."
"Let’s go there."
.
.
.
The two sleepy gate guards were shocked when the three of them appeared in front of the gate, especially after they saw Huo Mianmian, who had been missing for several years.
Although the Huo Clan’s residence was quite large and spacious, it couldn’t compare to the residences of all the prominent clans.
"Is... is it really you, Young Miss?" One of the gate guards asked with a voice shaking with excitement.
Huo Mianmian smiled at them. "I’m back, Huo Jin and Huo Yang."
"Brother, I’ll inform the old patriarch and the others!" Huo Jin ran as fast as lightning into the residence while shouting. "Old patriarch! Old madam! Patriarch! Madam! Our young miss is back! She is at the gate now!"
Huo Yang suppressed his excitement. "Please enter, Young Miss. Everyone will be overjoyed by your return!"
"Thank you." Huo Mianmian hugged Aunt Guang’s arm and led her inside. "Please follow me, Brother. My family will definitely want to meet you, so I’ll introduce you to them."
Tang Xiao nodded and followed behind Huo Mianmian and Aunt Guang.
Huo Yang looked at Tang Xiao’s back. "Who is that young man? Why does the Young Miss respect him so much? Did he save her and bring her back? No matter what, the young miss is back, and our clan will be lively again."
"Mianmian!"
An old man’s voice thundered in their ears, followed by the voices of several other people.
"Litle Mian!"
"Daughter!"
Aunt Guan was terrified when she heard that, but Huo Mianmian immediately calmed her down. "They’re my family, Aunt Guan. They may be loud, but they’re good people, so you don’t need to be afraid of them."
Hearing that, Aunt Guan calmed down a bit, and she nodded at Huo Mianmian.
Soon, four people arrived in front of them, an old man, an old man, and a middle-aged couple.
The old man staggered toward Huo Mianmian; he reached out to her and rubbed her cheek. Tears involuntarily flowed from his old eyes, and his body trembled violently.
Aunt Guan instinctively let go of Huo Mianmian’s arm, since she hadn’t seen her family for a long time.
"Mianmian."
"Grandpa, you have become much older than a few years ago." Huo Mianmian said with a smile, but tears were already flowing freely from the corners of her eyes, looking at her loved ones.
The old man hugged Huo Mianmian tightly as if he was afraid of losing her again. "You have finally returned to us, Mianmian. I always believed you were still alive; my wait has finally been fulfilled."
The old woman also cried seeing her husband hugging their granddaughter; she was grateful that their wait had not ended in vain.
The middle-aged man cried while hugging his wife, who couldn’t hold back her tears. "Husband, our daughter is finally back."
"Yeah, she’s back."
The middle-aged man looked at Aunt Guan and nodded to her; he had previously seen his daughter hugging her arm, so he was sure they had a close relationship. He raised an eyebrow and frowned when he saw Tang Xiao, who was standing a little away from them with his indifferent attitude.
"Who are you, young man?"
