Celestial 'War God' Return

Chapter 498: Return Home

"You’re finally back."

Huangfu Meizhen sighed inwardly upon seeing her husband’s weary expression. She felt a sense of guilt for having withheld information about Song Tianlin. She approached him and sat down beside him. "How did the search go over the past few days?"

"Still no results." Song Tianzun rested his head on her shoulder. "We’ve been searching for my brother’s whereabouts in various places over the past few days, but we couldn’t find any clues. I’m worried those demons have already taken him to the southern island, and we won’t be able to save him if that happens."

Huangfu Meizhen thought for a moment before speaking again. "Even though Mu Wang’s cultivation is high, I’m sure he still hasn’t left this island, and he’s probably hiding your brother somewhere else."

"I think so too." Song Tianzun held her hands. "Where do you think he hid my brother?"

"So far, you’ve only checked all the areas within this kingdom’s territory, right?"

"Yes." Song Tianzun raised his head after realizing something. "Do you think he’s hiding my brother in the Shenwu Kingdom?"

Huangfu Meizhen nodded. "Everyone knows that the Shenwu Kingdom has ties to the demons of the south, so I’m sure he’s hiding your brother somewhere within that kingdom."

Over the past few days, they had been frantically searching for Song Tianlin within their kingdom, and they had been searching for him without any clear direction. In the end, they overlooked the most crucial aspect: the relationship between the Shenwu Kingdom and the demons from the south.

After mulling it over, Song Tianzun contacted his parents and conveyed his guess. He also contacted several people from the Song and Shangguan Clans, asking them to start looking for his brother in the outskirts of the Shenwu Kingdom.

Song Tianzun let out a soft sigh and looked at his wife; he felt guilty towards her. They got married a week ago, but he had only accompanied her for a day, and he had been looking for his brother for the past few days.

"Why are you looking at me like this?"

Song Tianzun pushed her lying down on the bed and pinned her beneath him. "I’m sorry, Meizhen. We just got married, but I’ve neglected you for several days."

"No need." Huangfu Meizhen shook her head, cupping his face. "I understand the situation, so I don’t blame you. For now, you should focus on finding your brother, and you can make up for everything after you find him."

Huangfu Meizhen’s words made Song Tianzun feel even more guilty. "I’ll rest for a few days to accompany you."

"Husband, you—Mhmm..."

Song Tianzun didn’t give his wife a chance to refuse, and he sealed her lips. In a short time, her moans began to echo in the bedroom.

Song Zhentian sat in his study, his face pale and filled with worry. He was truly afraid that something bad would happen to his second son, especially after Song Tianzun told him about his guess.

In front of Song Zhentian, Shangguan Qingyin was also listless, her face pale from lack of rest. Since Song Tianlin disappeared, she and her husband had led members of their two clans to search for him, but their search had yielded no results.

Due to their panic and excessive worry, they never considered the possibility that Mo Wang would hide their second son in the Shenwu Kingdom.

Shangguan Qingyin looked up at her husband. "Shall we go to that kingdom, Husband?"

"We can’t go to that kingdom." Song Zhentian had thought about going to the Shenwu Kingdom after Song Tianzun contacted him, but he abandoned his intention because it was too risky. "If the two of us go there, the demons will immediately attack us."

"But—"

Song Zhentian waved his hand. "I’m worried about our second son’s safety, and I want to save him as soon as possible, but we have a responsibility to protect the people of our kingdom. If we fall into their hands, they will attack this kingdom, and many people will suffer because of it."

"What if we order people from both our clans to investigate the Shenwu Kingdom?"

"Our first son has ordered them, and they are on their way there now." Song Zhentian looked at his wife. "You’ve barely slept for the past few days; you should go back to our room and get some rest first."

Shangguan Qingyin massaged her forehead; she felt dizzy because of the burden on her mind and lack of rest. Since her first son had ordered members of both clans to investigate his brother’s whereabouts in the Shenwu Kingdom, she chose to agree with her husband. "I’ll go rest first, Husband."

As she walked out of the room, Shangguan Qingyin ran into Zhao Tiancheng, who had just arrived.

Zhao Tiancheng sat in front of Song Zhentian and reported several things. "Brother-in-law, I’ve sent some members from my Zhao Clan to the Shenwu Kingdom."

"Thank you, Tiancheng." Song Zhentian leaned back in his chair. "In your opinion, where did they hide my second son?"

"The first possibility is the Shenwu Royal Palace." Zhao Tiancheng paused and considered another location. "The second possibility is the Gu Clan."

Song Zhentian nodded in agreement; he himself had already considered those two places. "The Shenwu Royal Palace is located slightly outside their main territory, so I don’t think they would hide my second son there. They’re most likely hiding him within the Gu Clan, which is located almost at the southern end of this island."

"I’ve ordered people from my clan to check the Gu Clan, but they won’t arrive there until a few days later." Zhao Tiancheng looked at his brother-in-law. "By the way, Song Tiankun still hasn’t returned, and his wife tried to see my daughter in the past few days, but Xuenning refused to see her."

Song Zhentian furrowed his brows, and he felt Liao Yexue’s actions were unusual. "Is she thinking about capturing my niece?"

"You may not be aware of this matter, but Song Chenglin always looks at my daughter with a lecherous look." Song Zhentian immediately caught the meaning behind Zhao Tiancheng’s words. "I suspected from the start that his mother would act to help him, so I ordered my daughter to stay in her sect until the situation calmed down."

Song Zhentian was utterly disappointed with the character of his brother, sister-in-law, and nephew. They already knew that their kingdom had declined due to the demon race’s attack in the past, and the heretics had killed many members of the Song Clan, yet they chose to collude with their eternal enemy.

Song Zhentian always let Song Tiankun go because he was his biological younger brother, but he never changed. Moreover, his sister-in-law and nephew were increasingly outrageous; they even had such evil thoughts towards his niece.

"Besides my daughter, Song Chenglin is also targeting Shangguan Qingyue and Zhan Yiran, but his mother hasn’t made a move on them yet."

Song Zhentian let out a heavy sigh. "The situation in our kingdom is chaotic, so I won’t do anything to them for now. Furthermore, my niece should be safe in the sect, and Liao Yexue won’t dare to make a move against Shangguan Qingyue and Zhan Yiran anytime soon."

"I understand." Zhao Tiancheng rose to his feet. "Brother-in-law, I will go back first, and you should take some time to rest your mind."

Song Zhentian nodded and got up, but he didn’t leave his study and walked to the side of the window. He looked up at the night sky as he thought about his second son. "If you dare do anything to my second son, I will no longer care about the risks, and I will attack you."

Inside the bedroom, Song Chenglin was completely naked, with his hands and feet tied to the end of the bed. His whole body was red, and his breathing was ragged due to the effects of the pill.

The fake Shangguan Qingyue’s lips curled up, but she ignored Song Chenglin and left the room. She didn’t leave the Song Royal Palace; instead, she sneaked around and went to Liao Yexue’s room.

The fake Shangguan Qingyue didn’t enter the bedroom; she peeked through the window and found Liao Yexue sleeping soundly. She took out an incense stick, lit it, and fanned the smoke into the room.

Liao Yexue, who was fast asleep, didn’t realize it. She subconsciously inhaled the incense smoke, and the effect slowly made her restless.

After confirming that Liao Yexue had been affected by the incense, the fake Shangguan Qingyue entered her bedroom. She sealed her cultivation, carried her on her shoulders, and took her to Song Chenglin’s room.

The fake Shangguan Qingyue laid Liao Yexue beside Song Chenglin, forced her to swallow a pill, took off her dress, and left her there. After that, she hurriedly left, reported to Tang Xiao, and returned to the sect.

When Tang Xiao woke up, he couldn’t find Huo Yan in her bed, and he guessed that she had gone to practice again.

After cleaning himself up, Tang Xiao picked up Tang Yin and the others at their bamboo houses, and they left together for their residence in the Song Capital.

When they arrived, they found the second residence was more than half finished, and construction would be completed soon.

Mu Qingge, Mu Yan, Sun Xiang, and Xing Xing immediately went to another area to meet their families.

"You guys remember to come back, huh?" Tang Huang’s sarcastic voice greeted them as soon as Tang Xiao and Tang Yin entered the main residence.

"Hahaha," Tang Yin laughed and ran to hug her grandfather. "Did you miss us, Grandpa?"

"You guys are my beloved grandchildren, so I will always miss you two." Tang Huang hugged his granddaughter back and looked at his grandson. "Where is my new granddaughter-in-law? Why didn’t you bring her here?"
