Chapter 214: You are Stone Souled
The unknown errors he was getting from his Status Screen were disturbing, suggesting that this almighty Status Screen could not fully understand what was happening with him; however, as much as this error message disturbed him, Elias was more focused on the growth in his attributes and the three new traits he had just acquired.
His Vitality and Stamina had grown, with his Vitality surpassing six thousand points, and his Stamina finally surpassing a thousand points. However, as Elias glanced at these numbers, he frowned a bit because he had gained more vitality and Stamina than he had expected for the number of points that had entered into his Durability and Agility Attributes.
If he used his previous calculations, Elias believed he should have around 5,600 points of Vitality and not 6,127 points in Vitality, and his Stamina had also experienced these changes as well.
Elias closed his eyes in thought, and then he snapped his fingers as he thought he had figured out the answers. It turned out that his Vitality and Stamina points did not depend on just the numbers on his attributes, but the state of his body as well.
To explain in simpler terms, if a wolf and a man had the same points in Agility, the wolf with fur legs would be faster than the man who had just two legs, and so the amount of Vitality and Stamina he had depends on the foundation of his body.
So it meant that even if two Siphons had the same points in attributes, the amount of vitality they would have would depend on the bodies of the Siphons themselves. A short and smaller woman with ten points in strength would not have the same power as a tall and buff man with the same points in strength.
Reforging his flesh and enhancing his veins had caused the base of his body to become stronger, and so his body could pull on more Vitality and Stamina.
In total, he had gained 241 points that had been shared almost equally across his entire body, but his durability had grown the most with almost 51 points; however, his will still remained his highest attribute that he had, but this did not surprise him.
The last trial had pushed his willpower to new heights, and Elias was surprised that he had not gained more points in his will, but as he was growing stronger, Elias was now understanding the limits of his Elder Talents.
With the amount of damage he had suffered before he upgraded his flesh, if Elias’s flesh was still the same as it was when he was a mortal, then he would have gained hundreds of points in each attribute, but since his Elder Talent was no longer shaping weak flesh, the amount of points he could gain had subsequently reduced.
Basically, it meant that he needed more energy to increase a single point of his attribute as he grew stronger, and in the near future, he may not be able to gain maybe even ten points of attribute if he suffered incredible damage.
The possibility that he could grow without limits, without facing any barriers, was a childish fantasy after all. As he grew stronger, the energy required for him to change also increased as well, and he needed to adjust his mindset going forward.
Nevertheless, for him to gain so many attributes while leveling up as a Fury Forge would require him to level up six times. With his attributes alone, he should be at the peak of Mist Phantom, even though he may not have the other unique abilities that come from this level; this was an advantage he could not scoff at.
Still, what these changes were telling Elias was that in the future, his legacies may become his primary method for growth, and not his Elder Talent.
He was not too worried about this, because his Elder Talent would still be giving him all of these sweet points of progress; it would just become harder and come a bit slower. This was a sign of progress because it meant that he was becoming so powerful that even a single point of progress cost an incredible amount of energy.
What could be seen as important were the new traits he had just acquired, and they were among the most powerful traits he had within him.
Elias had now fully confirmed that his Elder Talent was not just giving him attributes, but also traits as well, but for him to gain new traits, he needed to have a force profoundly change his body.
These new traits seemed to be the fusion of his Elder Talent and his legacies. Blood Forged Flesh was the fusion between Crimson Vein and his Extreme Adaptation, giving him the ability to use his active abilities of Crimson Vein, and not use his Lumina, but draw from his durability and stamina.
Elias felt that this was an interesting concept, but not too useful for someone like him who had a hundred pools of Lumina that was extremely massive, and because he did not use his abilities a lot when fighting, he did not have to worry about Lumina, however, Elias was unaware that integrating his legacy with his flesh, and having the capability to draw power from his attributes was an ability unique to Amber Exile Siphons, and his Elder Talent had opened this door to him at the Fury Forge level.
This was information that he would not require for a while, and so it was not given to him. What drew his attention was the second part of this trait... Physical damage taken while any Crimson Vein ability is active is reduced by 15% and converted to Stamina.
His Stamina had grown, but it could never be enough. Elias was a close combat fighter, and he needed Stamina in spades because he was usually fighting multiple enemies at the same time.
This trait would reduce the damage he was taking while also converting part of that reduced damage to Stamina. This would change the way he fought and push him to become a tireless force of nature.
Elias did not know how this worked, but he was eager to find out, and faint tingles of excitement pulsed through his body as he could not wait to enter combat and see how this trait worked.
Stone-Souled was a fusion between his Art of Stone and his Elder Talent, and what it gave him was simple, but in that simplicity was a terrifying power. It increased his passive Durability by 10% while wearing any armor, and it stacks with Stone Skin.
Ten percent of his durability was almost 610 points in Vitality, so it meant that when he was armored, his Vitality would shoot up from 6,127 to 6,737.
He was growing to become a Vitality monster with this newer trait, and as he grew stronger, the usefulness of this trait would only increase.
Finally, the last new trait, Void-Touched, also had a simple upgrade, increasing its Inverse Reflection from 1% to 3%.
1% Inverse Reflection was a freakish ability, as it reflected all types of damage done to Elias back to the sender. However, it could not truly damage his enemies at a rate that Elias found to be acceptable.
This trait had been active when he was fighting the Rune Beast, but he did not see much damage done against the Beast, and he wondered how much damage would 3% be able to do.
