Chapter 1005 - 524: Team Rocket? The Comedic Trio Sisters! Cynthia’s Domination! Volo’s Shock!
"Mr. Volo, do you know where they are now?" Cynthia directly asked for crucial information.
"Recently, someone spotted them near the Wetland Base." Volo pointed in the direction of the Crimson Mirelands entrance, "You can go there and investigate first."
"If you can’t find them, I’ll continue gathering information through the Ginkgo Guild’s channels."
"Guild members are spread throughout the Hisui Region, so as soon as the Miss Fortunes appear again, someone will discover their whereabouts."
Volo said this as his gaze fell upon the Celestica Flute that Cynthia carried.
"I’ve heard you’ve been acknowledged by Wyrdeer."
"With its help, traveling to and from the Wetland Base shouldn’t take much time."
Cynthia’s expression subtly changed.
Volo not only knew they had pacified Kleavor but also knew Wyrdeer had accepted them.
The Ginkgo Guild’s information is indeed quite agile.
But is Volo overly concerned with their affairs?
"Mr. Volo’s information is indeed insightful." Cynthia quickly returned to her usual demeanor, "We can summon Wyrdeer, indeed."
"Then we’ll go to the Wetland Base first for investigation. If we can’t find the Miss Fortunes, we’ll need Mr. Volo’s continued assistance."
"It’s my honor to help you both." Volo politely bowed, "I’ll wait for your news near the Solaceon Ruins."
Cynthia took out the Celestica Flute and played the melody to summon Wyrdeer.
The clear flute sound reached into the distance.
Not long after, Wyrdeer emerged through the wetland and came before the two.
"Sorry to trouble you again."
Cynthia gently patted Wyrdeer’s forehead.
"Uhoo."
Wyrdeer nodded in response.
Ash and Cynthia mounted Wyrdeer and quickly left the vicinity of the Solaceon Ruins.
Volo stood there, watching their figures disappear into the depths of the wetlands.
His smile remained gentle, showing no signs of abnormality.
On the way to the Wetland Base, Ash couldn’t help but look back once more.
Only after the Solaceon Ruins completely vanished from view did he lower his voice and say: "Sis, wasn’t Volo’s behavior a bit strange just now?"
"Indeed, it was a bit strange." Cynthia did not deny, "He not only knows about the Plate Fragment but also is aware that we’ve been acknowledged by Wyrdeer."
"Most importantly, he seems far too enthusiastic about the search for the Plate Fragment."
They’ve met Volo only twice in total.
Normally, even if Volo is willing to provide the information he’s already grasped, there’s no need to utilize the entire strength of the Ginkgo Guild to assist them.
At best, they could only be considered acquaintances, yet the other party helped them as if they were close friends, which doesn’t make sense.
"So should we believe the information he’s provided?"
"Let’s first look around the Wetland Base." Cynthia gazed ahead, "Regardless of Volo’s intentions, the Miss Fortunes are the only clues for now."
"At least for now, what he’s doing is beneficial to us; as for why he’s helping us... we’ll find out eventually."
Ash nodded, not removing the Aura mark left on Volo.
As long as Volo continues his activities in the Crimson Mirelands, Ash has an opportunity to discover the true purpose of the other party.
With Wyrdeer’s help, the two quickly arrived near the Wetland Base.
The Wetland Base is located in the entrance area of the Crimson Mirelands and is the first outpost established by Team Galactic here.
Several simple tents are scattered on the clearing, with supplies like medicine and food stored nearby.
A few Team Galactic members were patrolling around the base to assist any investigators entering the Crimson Mirelands.
"Team Galactic does a thorough job of protecting humans in this aspect."
Cynthia observed the layout of the Wetland Base.
This location is close to the edge of the Crimson Mirelands.
If someone were injured or poisoned, the stationed members can provide immediate rescue.
However, because the Miss Fortunes are wanted by Team Galactic, they naturally wouldn’t directly enter the Wetland Base.
Ash and Cynthia didn’t disturb the stationed personnel but began searching for suspicious traces around the base’s perimeter.
The two walked along the edge of the forest for a while before noticing a very conspicuous clearing ahead.
Several trees were sharply cut by some tool, leaving stumps distributed around the clearing.
In the center of the clearing, there was a pile of already extinguished firewood.
"Someone has been here."
Ash crouched near the fire, reaching towards the charcoal; the remaining charcoal had long lost its heat, but the soil beneath was still slightly damp.
This fire hadn’t been extinguished for too long.
"Could it be the Miss Fortunes?"
"Possibly." Cynthia checked the footprints left around.
"But it could also be Team Galactic’s investigating members; let’s search for other clues nearby first."
Before she finished her sentence, a loud voice suddenly came from behind the two.
"I seem to hear someone looking for us!"
"Bravely coming to us, they’re quite bold indeed!"
"No need to ask, surely intending to capture us for the bounty!"
Three consecutive voices echoed through the woods, and Ash and Cynthia simultaneously turned around.
Three flamboyantly dressed women, at some point, stood on the other side of the clearing.
Their faces were painted in bright colors, wearing outfits suitable for moving in the wild, now posing in bizarre stances.
Ash looked at their pose, his expression gradually becoming subtle.
This way of making an entrance felt all too familiar.
"Team Rocket?"
"Who are Team Rocket?" The woman in front immediately refuted, "We are the Miss Fortunes, roaming the Hisui Region!"
