Chapter 772: Just That Confident!
"Snow Python!"
The Sword Qi transformed into a colossal python and lunged at Yang Qi, blocking his White Tiger Thunder. However, Jiang Ran was still in a bad state. His hasty defense put him at a disadvantage in this clash, and he was sent crashing to the ground.
He actually injured Jiang Ran! Fear filled Chu Renxiong’s eyes. In their view, Jiang Ran should have been invincible. An Overlord Peak and a disciple of the Heavenly God Sect shouldn’t be defeated.
But now, Jiang Ran lay in a deep crater on the ground, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
"Hahaha, hahahaha!" Jiang Ran suddenly burst into wild laughter. As he rose from the deep pit, his eyes radiated ferocity and madness. "Good. Very good. Excellent. You are the first person outside of the Heavenly God Sect to injure me. If I don’t kill you today, I, Jiang Ran, will be unworthy to return."
Jiang Ran is furious! Yang Qi is definitely done for!
Yes, Yang Qi has completely enraged him.
Chu Renxiong and Chen He both thought the same thing.
Jiang Ran stared daggers at Yang Qi. He had never been so enraged. A mighty Overlord Peak had been wounded, and by a mere Seventh Rank Overlord at that! He felt he had lost all face. Only by killing Yang Qi today could he wash away this humiliation.
Yang Qi looked back at Jiang Ran, sighing and shaking his head. Jiang Ran was still strong. Anyone else, even another Overlord Peak, would likely have died from that attack. Yet, Jiang Ran had not only blocked it but had also sustained only minor injuries.
"Yang Qi, the fact that you could injure me is indeed impressive," Jiang Ran said, the sword in his hand growing colder and more terrifying. "But for that, you won’t just die today; those around you will die too."
It seemed like an illusion, but Yang Qi could have sworn he saw a range of sprawling ice mountains manifest behind Jiang Ran.
"Ice Power!" Yang Qi muttered to himself. He knew that among Martial Arts Overlords, some with exceptional talent could master a power known as ’force’. By leveraging the force of heaven and earth, they could make their attacks even more formidable.
Jiang Ran had never imagined that he would have to borrow the force of an iceberg just to deal with some trash from the secular world.
"Kill!"
With a furious roar, Jiang Ran unleashed the long-accumulated power in his sword.
It was terrifying. Extremely terrifying. Despite Yang Qi’s best efforts to resist, he still grunted as blood seeped from the corner of his mouth. He retreated continuously; this horrifying attack was simply too much for his current abilities to withstand.
"This is bad, Boss!" Ye Feng grew anxious.
"What do we do?" Kong Tianjian had already drawn his longsword. He knew he was no match for Jiang Ran, but if Yang Qi was in danger, they had to act.
"Do not interfere!" Yang Qi’s voice rang out. He didn’t want Jiang Ran’s attacks to be diverted to anyone else.
Chu Renxiong, Chen He, Zheng Bunai, and the others grew wildly excited once more, certain that Yang Qi could not possibly survive. Yang Qi had thoroughly enraged Jiang Ran, causing him to unleash his full power in such a terrifying strike. His death was sealed.
What use is being a genius? So what if he’s formidable? So what if he can defeat Wei Ying? Can he escape death now?
"Serves him right!" the people from Sea City all laughed.
It wasn’t fair for an Overlord Peak to fight a Seventh Rank Overlord. Furthermore, a disciple of the Heavenly God Sect going all out against a secular martial artist was a violation of the rules. But in this world, rules were made for the weak. The strong could choose to ignore them at any time. The strong devoured the weak; there was no reason or justice to it. And yet, that reality was difficult to change.
Jiang Ran was stronger than Yang Qi. Even if he killed him, the Heavenly God Sect might only give him a light reprimand, if they bothered to do anything at all. After all, Yang Qi had killed Wei Ying.
BOOM!
An even more terrifying aura surged toward Yang Qi. He was still retreating, the blood at the corner of his mouth flowing more freely. But the golden wings completely enveloped him, holding firm.
"Hmph. I’d like to see how long you can hold on. Today, you will die without a doubt," Jiang Ran snorted coldly, leaping into the air and striking with his sword again. A whip-like blast of cold Sword Qi descended once more.
BANG!
Yang Qi blocked it again, but he spat out more blood.
Yet, a faint smile remained on his face, a silent taunt to his enemy.
Jiang Ran was furious! He felt despised by Yang Qi yet again. His continuous attacks had failed to kill him, which was truly infuriating. At the same time, however, he couldn’t help but admire how difficult this secular Martial Artist was to deal with. This kid had defeated two other Overlord Peaks with a single move, yet Jiang Ran, after bombarding him for so long, still couldn’t even break his defenses. Although he had managed to injure him, it was only a slight wound, which was nothing to a martial artist of this level.
"Again!"
Admiration was one thing, but Jiang Ran couldn’t afford to be lenient. He had to kill Yang Qi. Otherwise, he would have no face to return to the Heavenly God Sect.
BOOM!
With another terrifying impact, the golden wings were blasted apart, and a few feathers fluttered to the ground.
"Heh, so you’re at your limit after all," Jiang Ran sneered as he prepared to land the final blow.
But at that moment, Yang Qi dropped all his defenses. A terrifying shower of golden feathers flew toward Jiang Ran like a rain of blossoms.
Jiang Ran frowned, forced to stop and defend. The penetrating power of these golden feathers was immense. If he wasn’t careful, he’d be wounded again.
What a fine Magic Artifact. If only I could have it. The greed in Jiang Ran’s eyes intensified.
Ye Feng was in awe. He’s so impressive. Even when suppressed, the Boss can still give his opponent a headache.
Kong Tianjian smiled bitterly. Perhaps that’s why he’s the Boss, and we’re just his subordinates. Yang Qi is truly formidable. Though clearly weaker, he somehow seems stronger, showing no signs of being at a disadvantage. Instead, he’s filled with a confidence and tenacity that makes my blood boil with excitement!
"Don’t think I can’t attack you just because of this," Jiang Ran snorted. His icy aura grew even more terrifying, forming a violent blizzard that blocked the golden feathers. "Now, what will you use to block my next attack?"
Despite his arrogant words, Jiang Ran was genuinely vexed. Facing someone so many Realms beneath him, he had been forced to expend an immense amount of energy. It was infuriating. And frankly, a little shameful.
"The Boss must be at his limit. We have to help, right?" the King of Jingnan suddenly asked Ye Feng.
Ye Feng was just as frustrated. Should they help or not?
"Don’t intervene!" Yang Qi’s voice rang out once more. "He can’t kill me."
One sentence.
Confidence.
Strength.
Fearlessness.
Jiang Ran actually felt a flicker of fear. Could I really defeat someone like this?
