My husband Can Cultivate

Chapter 743

"You’re right. I plan to fly up and support the plane."

That was exactly what Yang Qi was thinking. His own strength might not be enough, but he had Spirit Talismans. There was a type of Spirit Talisman called the Light Spirit Talisman, which could reduce the weight of any object, allowing a person to hold it up. It would work on an airplane just as well as anything else. Theoretically, it could even be used on a planet, though that would require a much higher-grade Light Spirit Talisman.

Then, before a stunned Xu Yihan, a pair of golden wings unfurled from Yang Qi’s back. He immediately soared into the sky, flying straight for the massive passenger jet.

"Holy shit!" Xu Yihan stood completely dumbfounded.

Meanwhile, the War God Guard had finished evacuating all ground personnel.

Black Bear walked over and sighed. "Commander, the ground has been cleared. All we can do now is pray that the flight crew will be alright. By the way, where’s that lunatic of a Deputy Commander?"

"I’ve already sent Xu Yihan after him," White Tiger sighed, shaking his head repeatedly. "I can’t believe that Deputy Commander is really so unhinged. Why would the War God King ever take a liking to someone like him?"

"Commander, do you think he’s going to try to save the plane?" Poet asked.

"Don’t be ridiculous. Who does he think he is? The Great Sage Equalling Heaven? The Erlang God, Yang Jian?" Black Bear scoffed. "That kid is just a lunatic. From now on, his codename should be ’Crazed’."

"I like it. Deputy Commander Crazed," the others chimed in.

"Enough joking around!" White Tiger glared at them. "This is no time for games. Saving lives is what matters!"

Just then, he froze. "There’s someone in the sky!"

"What? Did someone fall out of the plane?"

Everyone looked up.

"A birdman?"

"No, that’s a person with wings!"

"It has to be the Deputy Commander."

"He can fly?"

Everyone present witnessed a scene they would never forget. Though they might see similar sights many times in the future, this was the absolute first, and therefore the most unforgettable. They stared, transfixed, as the man soared into the heavens.

They watched as he stuck something to the plane’s fuselage. Then, a bizarre scene unfolded: the man was actually towing the plane by its underbelly, guiding it toward the airport.

"Am I dreaming?"

"You’re not dreaming. I see it too."

"Is he an immortal?"

"I don’t know about that, but he’s definitely our Deputy Commander."

"To the airport! Now!" White Tiger shouted, and the entire group sprinted in that direction.

By the time they arrived, the plane was already safely on the tarmac. Having no interest in fame or glory, Yang Qi was already heading back and met them on the way.

A dead silence fell over the group.

"Immortal Commander!" Black Bear finally broke the silence.

He was certain he hadn’t been mistaken. Yang Qi’s back was now bare, without a trace of wings. He was just a young man in a crisp white tracksuit, with a face so youthful he could pass for seventeen or eighteen. But Black Bear knew what he had seen. He was a Martial Artist. While he couldn’t fly, his eyesight was excellent. He had seen everything with perfect clarity.

"This is our Deputy Commander, Yang Qi," Xu Yihan said, finally recovering from his own shock.

"Damn, so it’s really him."

A bitter feeling washed over the War God Guards, including White Tiger. Purely in terms of Realm and Combat Power, Yang Qi was no match for White Tiger. But if Yang Qi took to the skies, there would be absolutely nothing he could do. No wonder the War God King praised this man so highly. It all made sense now.

"Black Bear, weren’t you just itching for a duel with the Deputy Commander?" Poet asked with a mischievous smile.

Black Bear wished he could dig a hole and crawl into it. This was beyond humiliating. How was he supposed to know this Deputy Commander was so terrifying? The ability to fly alone was enough to toy with him to death, to say nothing of holding up an airplane with one hand. The strength required was simply unimaginable. Challenge a man like that? It’s madness.

"The codename ’Crazed’ is nice. I like it. Let’s use that from now on," Yang Qi said suddenly with a smile.

Black Bear’s face paled, and he quickly bowed. "Deputy Commander, I was wrong! We were just joking. I hope you can forgive us."

Their shock deepened. He had heard them from that far away? It was unbelievable. What kind of hearing was that? Even the five great God-Generals didn’t have hearing that sharp.

"I’m not blaming you, really," Yang Qi said with a smile. "I actually think it’s a great codename. ’Crazed.’ As a Martial Artist, if you don’t have a bit of a crazed spirit, you’ll never get anywhere."

"You’re really not angry?" Black Bear asked, still worried.

"No, really. You all use codenames, right? Just call me Crazed from now on," Yang Qi smiled.

"Yes, Commander Crazed!" Black Bear snapped to attention and saluted.

White Tiger gave a wry smile, walked over, and shook Yang Qi’s hand. "I never would have expected this, Brother Yang. To think you possess such abilities. You’ve saved at least a hundred families today."

"Don’t tell them the truth," Yang Qi said. "I don’t want to be disturbed."

"That’s fine. We’ll just say Commander Crazed did it. They won’t know who that is," White Tiger laughed.

"That works," Yang Qi nodded in agreement.

At this, none of the hundred members of the War God Guard dared to meet Yang Qi’s gaze. It wasn’t just because of his power, but because he had performed such a great feat yet refused to take credit for it. His character was simply too noble.

"By the way, Commander White Tiger," Yang Qi said with a smile, "I believe I heard you mention something about putting me in my place? About challenging me to a duel?"

White Tiger felt a wave of bitterness. "Brother Yang, the men were just joking around! Look, I’ll go handle the airplane situation. You can chat with them."

With that, he beat a hasty retreat.

The remaining War God Guards felt like crying. You’re our Commander! How can you just run off and leave us to deal with this?

"Hmm, no matter," Yang Qi said with a grin. "Anyone who wants to spar can step forward now. I’d be happy to accept your challenge."

Not a single person made a sound.

These proud members of the War God Guard, men who had once annihilated an entire nation, now stood silent. Not one of them dared to step forward.

It wasn’t merely a lack of confidence in their ability to defeat him. It was profound admiration for what he had just done.

Even if he weren’t stronger than them, they would never raise a hand against such a man.

Because Yang Qi was a hero.

"Alright then. Since no one is stepping forward to fight, can I assume you’ve all accepted me as your Deputy Commander?" Yang Qi asked with a smile.

"Yes!" everyone shouted in unison.

"You ungrateful lot," Yang Qi sighed. "Those Elixirs you’ve all been taking? I’m the one who gave them to you. If I hadn’t done what I did today, would you really have tried to take me down?"

"Ah? The War God King didn’t tell us!"

Only then did it dawn on them that the incredibly effective Elixirs they had recently been taking were refined by Yang Qi himself. Had they known this sooner, they never would have dreamed of acting against him. They had been utter fools.
