Chapter 16
“Who are you?” Alex said, looking up from the scroll in his hands.
He found himself looking at no one, as the man was already walking away at that point. Alex took a step, about to go after him, but stopped himself. The man was most likely a simple courier, he wouldn’t be able to give Alex any information anyway.
“What is it?” Holly asked, moving up on her tiptoes to peak over his shoulder.
“The Aeralith Kingdom,” Alex said softly. “Last we had to deal with them, the Terraxum had their chains around us, and were blowing up one of their cities.”
“Open it then,” she insisted.
Alex broke open the seal and opened the scroll.

I have learned of your arrival within Athrastas and your candidacy for the Inheritance Dungeon.
Our business is unfinished, and you should know I will not be satisfied with how things were left. Get strong, Worldstrider.
Prince Irieth Aeralith
“Well, well, looks like someone still sees me as a rival,” Alex chuckled.
“The Prince? He still wants to fight? Please, you’d crush him now,” Holly said.
“He was a middle stage Adept back then, but that doesn’t mean he’s the same now. He could have reached late stage in the meantime, we did.”
“Exactly, late stage, just like you. And you’ve had your constitution upgrade, your meridians, your martial style, and more. There’s no way he caught up,” she insisted.
“I guess you’re right, he seems damn confident though, sending a message all this way.”
“And that confidence is earned. Do you not remember how your last fights with him went? He had toyed with you the whole time. He was probably planning to kill you next time.”
No… I nearly took him out last time.
“You really think so? You think he showed you all his cards?”
Alex held the scroll in his hands as his mind went back to the fights with the Aeralith prince. Had he really been close to winning? He had been forced to use everything in those duels, and he’d love to think the prince was forced to the brink as well, but he didn’t know that for sure.
How powerful was he really? And how powerful could he have gotten?
“With a small kingdom of wealth and a serious burning urge for revenge fueling him?”
Damn.
“I think,” Alex said, “I have a lot of experience points to spend.”
