Chapter 746 - 301: Battle of the Ancestral Land (Part 3)
Roar! Roar!
Seeing the rain of fire descending from the sky, countless Earth Ants within the Earth Ant Ancestral Land looked up, the sheep horns on their heads lighting up.
Within the Earth Ant Ancestral Land, streams of witchcraft light flashed across the sky, forming a splendid array of colors.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Witchcraft, witch bullets, and rockets collided, exploding into fiery blooms in the sky, with the energy from the explosions spreading out, forming waves that resonated through the yellow sand hills.
Some weaker Earth Ants were swept away on the spot by the energy waves.
The first wave of witch bullets and rockets was blocked by the Earth Ant Race, but barely had they caught their breath when a second wave lit up the distant sky.
Immediately, more Earth Ants looked up, activating the witchcraft on their sheep horns.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Some rockets and witch cannons landed, while others exploded into ripples in the sky above the Earth Ant Ancestral Land, converging into an even more powerful storm of fire and rain.
...
"Fight our way out!"
A roar erupted from the depths of the Earth Ant Ancestral Land, the roaring of Ancestor Earth Ant. Accompanied by a sea of yellow sand, it strode forward like a mountain, each step causing the hills to tremble.
Hearing the roar of their ancestor, many Earth Ants within the Ancestral Land roared in response, some wearing clothes made by the Human Race. They tore their brocade clothes to shreds, revealing savage expressions.
"Roar! Roar! Roar!"
With thunderous roars, the Earth Ants began rushing out of the Ancestral Land.
The Earth Ants surged forward like a flood, charging towards the battle array of the Human Race across a thousand-mile front.
From a distance, amidst the yellow sand hills of the Earth Ant Ancestral Land, clusters of firelight rose, covering hundreds to thousands of miles around.
Thus, urged on by Ancestor Earth Ant, the Earth Ants charged desperately against the cannon fire of the Blazing Flame Alliance.
Even though rockets exploded ahead, toppling many of their kin, the Earth Ants in the back pushed forward ruthlessly, leaping over craters to continue their charge.
These Earth Ants understood that if they didn’t charge now, they might never have another chance; the Human Race was coming to exterminate them.
Release the arrows!
When the Earth Ants finally made it out of the yellow hills, the archers of the Alliance Army had been lying in wait.
It’s not that they couldn’t use fire rockets with the witch boxes, but the explosive energy of the rockets was too great, and the Earth Ants were full of treasures.
Using too many fire rockets would result in too much loss of Earth Ants.
Sometimes, more advanced witch artifacts definitely have great use, but that doesn’t mean that the previous ones are ineffective.
For example, giant crossbows.
In the gaps adjacent to eleven Mountain-Moving Turtles, arrays of giant crossbows were prepared.
The new giant crossbows had once again been improved; five people made up a team, two to shoot, and three to reload.
The reloading process wasn’t about loading one arrow at a time, but rather using specially made arrow boxes, taller than a person, capable of holding ten giant arrows.
During reloading, the arrow box was simply dragged out from beneath the giant crossbow and replaced with a new one.
The reason four people were needed to reload was twofold: it required great strength to drag out the arrow box, and the improved giant crossbows fired so quickly that fewer people couldn’t supply enough arrows.
"Release the arrows!"
With Huo Shan’s command to release the arrows, the messenger’s voice echoed across the battlefield.
Rumble!
The twang of the giant crossbows gathered into a thunderous sound, and a rain of arrows flew toward the Earth Ants like a dark cloud overhead.
Rumble!
Following the first volley of arrows was the second, third... tenth... replacing the arrow boxes...
By the time the first box of giant arrows was emptied, the Alliance Crossbow Soldiers had released seven million arrows.
In the area stretching hundreds of miles east to west and over a dozen miles north to south outside the Earth Ant Ancestral Land, over a hundred forests of arrows were formed.
Some of the arrow forests were still moving, countless Earth Ants turning into porcupines.
Some Earth Ants ran fast enough to rush out of the arrow rain’s range, while others were separated by it.
...
"Chariots!"
With Huo Shan waving the command flag, the chariots rolled out, Moon-Gazing Dragon Rhinoceroses clad in heavy armor charged forward, their armor glowing with witch runes, merging with the chariots.
The leading three hundred chariots unleashed giant beast divine forms spanning a hundred feet.
The Earth Ants that broke out collided head-on with the chariots, and Earth Ants relying on their strong physique now faced iron-clad chariots.
The three hundred leading chariots turned into three hundred torrents, and in the moment of engagement, sent Earth Ants flying, blood and bones splattering.
Two thousand seven hundred chariots followed closely, crashing through Earth Ants, leaving trails of blood seals.
Heavy Armor Martial Artists ran behind them, their heavy blades swinging, each one a top-grade Tier Three witch artifact, slicing flesh with ease.
Splurt! Splurt!
The Heavy Armor Martial Artists brought their blades down on the advancing Earth Ants, sending shattered skulls and chunks of flesh flying high.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The battlefield was vast, with Earth Ants at the front already engaged in battle.
The Earth Ants at the rear continued to endure the rain of bullets and fire explosions within the Earth Ant Ancestral Land.
Roar!
In this scene, the ancestral roar of Ancestor Earth Ant within the Ancestral Land was furious; the changes in the Human Race over the past few thousand years were immense.
Yet, for some reason, although Ancestor Earth Ant roared continuously, it did not step out of the Ancestral Land, always lingering within it.
