Chapter 741 - 299: Ancestral Tree and Medicine Children (Part 3)
"Leader, the Jiaoshan Tribe is indeed like Yuee Mountain, with no Ancestral Temple or Ancestral Land burial ground."
"They capture humans from other tribes as sacrificial offerings, while their own deceased are buried under old trees."
"There’s something wrong with these trees!"
After arriving at Jiaoshan, Yan Song inspected around and then left again.
They began to continue their journey westward.
The captives they seized earlier were not strong, with knowledge only of the surrounding thousand miles; much of what they knew were just hearsay.
To uncover more, they had to investigate personally.
Along the way, the group spread out to observe the tribes they encountered, crossing ten thousand miles, encountering tribes that all worshipped old trees as Sacrificial Spirits.
At the far end of the vast wilderness, there was an ancient forest stretching thousands of miles. In its center, a giant green Wood, several dozen people in circumference, covered hundreds of miles like a canopy.
Within the ancient forest, structures could be seen everywhere, with Human Race figures bustling around. There were also hunting teams coming from afar, dragging back enormous prey.
Among the prey, some humans were bound with animal skin ropes, dragged back together with the game.
There were also some young women tied up, placed on the backs of mounts.
The entire hunting team numbered more than five thousand, stretching for miles, welcomed into the ancient forest by many.
"A great harvest!"
"So much prey, so many offerings, and so many women, haha, the young people in the tribe are in for a treat."
"Nonsense, what do you mean a treat? Don’t you know that the more people there are, the less there will be!"
"These youngsters today, not knowing how to propagate the tribe, just doing things we elders don’t understand."
...
Jiaozhou gazed from afar at the green Giant Wood with some sigh, "Even the Bo Division worships old trees as Sacrificial Spirits. Had I not seen it myself, I wouldn’t believe it."
This was the first Human Race Bo Division they encountered, and aside from being stronger, it was no different from the small tribes they met before, with equally primitive weapons.
"Find an opportunity to capture someone alive. If this Bo Division isn’t strong, we’ll investigate closely."
Yan Song quickly issued the orders.
He was now increasingly certain that they had reached the Wood Ginger Race’s territory.
Unfortunately, the small tribes they passed along the way had limited knowledge, lacking the most direct evidence.
Hopefully, this Bo Division before them could provide useful evidence.
...
Behind the Ancestral Tree of the Cang Lin Bo Division lay a valley, filled with medicinal herbs and rich in Source Power.
A dozen young boys lived here, each exuding the aura of affinity with plants and trees, their eyes brimming with spirit at a glance.
"Time to eat!"
Someone called from outside the valley, and upon hearing the noise, the dozen boys quickly gathered at the valley’s entrance.
Soon, each received a meal of Witch Medicine, including Yun Sheng and Golden Essence Root.
The boys, accustomed to this, began eating heartily.
Watching the boys ingest the Witch Medicine, the old man delivering the food nodded in satisfaction.
"Eat well, only by purifying the body into a medicinal form can you invoke the Ancestral Tree’s manifestation and have a chance to go to the Sacred Land."
Hearing this, the boys’ spirits were invigorated.
"Elder Grandpa, I want more."
"Me too."
...
"Alright, there’s plenty for everyone."
The elder took out some more Witch Medicine, watching as these boys ate.
"After you’re full, go kneel by the Ancestral Tree; the Sacrificial Spirit will reward the most devout children."
Soon after, the dozen boys knelt beneath the grand Ancestral Tree, reverent and devout.
Since birth, they’ve lived in the valley and, upon learning, the first thing they did was kneel there.
The Ancestral Tree gently swayed, its canopy-like branches shedding spots of sunlight, illuminating these boys.
In the sunlight that fell like fragments, spots of blue light swept over the boys.
Inside the Ancestral Tree, a blurred figure flickered, Spiritual Light descended through the massive trunk into the roots.
Beneath the earth lay countless withered bones, the roots twisted and coiled like dragons, penetrating deep into the earth for untold miles.
In the deep earth, roots large and small spread across the vast land, some breaking through the surface and growing into various Spirit Trees standing in different Human Race tribes.
