Azure: Gunner

Chapter 8-22

No matter how much the inside of some dungeons might resemble the world outside, never forget where you are. For the most part, it’s possible to apply the same tactics in the real world. For the MOST part. The differences are what’ll get you Wasted if you’re not careful. In particular, there is one stupidly dangerous bad habit you can develop as a Delver.

Inside a dungeon, some things are scaled down in ways that aren’t immediately obvious. Normally, a monster’s territory stretches for miles, often with very fuzzy borders. The majority of monsters will happily leave their territory, at least temporarily, to chase you the fuck down if they see, smell, or hear you wandering by and think you look, smell, or sound tasty.

But in a dungeon, there aren’t miles and miles for monsters to roam free, those ‘poor, caged’ bastards. Their ‘territories’ are compressed, and the borders become a lot more black and white. This is an extremely good thing for Delvers, because otherwise the first fight you got into would likely draw every fucking monster in the dungeon down on your head.
