Chapter 472 Approaching Shennongjia
Hearing this, Lin Kuang, who had been relaxing on the sofa, sat bolt upright. His expression instantly turned grave.
"What did you say?" Lin Kuang asked, his voice low, afraid he had misheard.
"I said Liu Shiyu is in our hands. We’re in Shennongjia. Bring the sword in exchange for her, or you can come collect her corpse!" the man on the other end of the phone repeated, his calm voice filled with indifference.
"Let me hear her voice," Lin Kuang demanded.
"Fine," the man replied.
Just a few seconds later, the Witch’s voice came through. "Don’t come! There are so many of them..."
Just as she finished, Lin Kuang heard a muffled sound over the phone, followed by silence.
"Alright, you’ve heard her voice. Now, come here. You must come alone," the man said.
"Fine, I’m on my way. But you’d better not hurt her. If you dare to harm a single hair on her head, I will wipe every last one of you out!" Lin Kuang said, his voice icy and brimming with killing intent.
"Don’t worry. We won’t lay a finger on her until we have the Nameless Sword," the man’s deep voice replied.
"I hope so," Lin Kuang said coldly.
"This is our location. Someone will meet you when you arrive." With that, the man gave Lin Kuang a set of coordinates and hung up.
Listening to the dial tone, Lin Kuang’s expression grew exceedingly grim.
"Lin Kuang, what happened?" Lin Guo’er couldn’t help but ask, seeing his dark expression.
"The Witch is in trouble. She’s been captured," Lin Kuang said.
Upon hearing this, the faces of Lin Guo’er and Liu Shilin changed dramatically, while the expressions of Yang Ruotong and Yang Ruoxi also turned grim.
"Lin Kuang, what exactly happened?" Liu Shilin asked hurriedly, her beautiful eyes filled with worry as her face turned a few shades paler.
Lin Kuang gave her a brief account of the situation. "Shilin, don’t worry, I won’t let anything happen to the Witch. You all wait for me at home. I’m heading out now."
With that, Lin Kuang turned and left. Time was of the essence.
"Lin Kuang, be careful!" the four women called out almost in unison.
"I will!" Lin Kuang shouted in acknowledgment and drove off.
Once he left the estate, Lin Kuang immediately dialed Chen Feng’s number at the Wumi Building.
"Hello, Mr. King of the Underworld," Chen Feng answered, his tone deeply respectful.
"I need you to check which Ancient Martial Arts family is located in Shennongjia. I need it fast. Right now," Lin Kuang said urgently.
"The Pei Family. The Ancient Martial Arts Pei Family is in Shennongjia," Chen Feng answered quickly and confidently. The Ancient Martial Arts families were, after all, key targets of the Wumi Building’s surveillance, and Chen Feng had their locations memorized.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang was slightly stunned. "Alright, I got it."
"Right. Mr. King of the Underworld, we’re still investigating the Nameless Sword and Miss Mu Wan. We should have definite news in the next few days," Chen Feng added.
"Good. Just let me know as soon as you have something," Lin Kuang said before hanging up.
He immediately dialed Yang Wucheng’s private number.
"Hey, Lin Kuang," Yang Wucheng answered shortly, a laugh in his voice.
"Uncle Yang, I’ll be at your place in ten minutes. Arrange a helicopter to Shennongjia for me. It’s urgent," Lin Kuang said rapidly.
Hearing this, Yang Wucheng was startled but quickly replied, "Okay, I’ll arrange it right away."
They hung up, and Lin Kuang pushed the Maserati to its limit, tearing down the highway.
Ten minutes later, Lin Kuang arrived at the East Sea Military Region. A helicopter was already waiting for him on the training grounds. Yang Wucheng had clearly prepared everything.
"Lin Kuang, what happened?" Yang Wucheng, who had been waiting for him, couldn’t help but ask.
"A very important friend of mine was kidnapped. I need to get there immediately," Lin Kuang said, his tone urgent and grave.
"Do you need backup?" Yang Wucheng asked quickly.
"No, I have to go alone. Uncle Yang, I’m leaving now. I’ll see you when I get back," Lin Kuang said as he approached the helicopter.
"Alright. I’ll be waiting for your return," Yang Wucheng replied.
Lin Kuang nodded, boarded the helicopter, and the pilot immediately started the engine. In an instant, the helicopter shot into the sky, carrying Lin Kuang straight toward Shennongjia.
Lin Kuang sat calmly inside, his heart filled with anxiety and his eyes glinting with murderous intent.
The helicopter flew swiftly, pushing the limits of its speed.
In less than two hours, it arrived at the designated location. It was just past seven in the evening. Lin Kuang opened the cabin door and jumped from an altitude of over ten meters. As he was about to land, he performed a somersault and landed steadily on his feet.
A man in his thirties was standing less than ten meters away. He was visibly startled when Lin Kuang appeared. That was a drop of over ten meters! He had just jumped down like it was nothing. Just watching it was terrifying.
"Lin Kuang?" the man couldn’t help but ask.
"That’s right. From the Pei Family?" Lin Kuang asked coolly.
The man’s expression changed. "Yes... wait, how did you know?!" In that instant, he realized he’d been tricked, and his eyes blazed with fury as he stared at Lin Kuang.
"Lead the way," Lin Kuang commanded, ignoring the man’s glare.
The man’s face flushed red with anger, but he didn’t say anything more. "Follow me," he grumbled, turning to walk away.
Lin Kuang said nothing and followed him.
After nearly half an hour of walking, several figures appeared up ahead. In the middle of them stood the Witch.
Seeing this, murderous intent flooded Lin Kuang’s heart. Pei Family, you really have some nerve!
By then, he and his guide had reached the group.
At that moment, the Witch saw Lin Kuang. Joy instantly filled her face, but it vanished just as quickly, replaced by deep worry.
"You bastard, you shouldn’t have come!" she shouted, tears immediately streaming from her beautiful eyes.
