Unrivaled Soldier in the City

Chapter 470: Establishing Power

Hearing this, Fan Zeyu nodded and followed Lin Kuang into the room.

Lin Kuang led Fan Zeyu straight into the study, where they sat facing each other.

"Lin Kuang, just tell me. What do you need my help with?" Fan Zeyu asked, looking at him.

Lin Kuang smiled faintly. "I want you to go to Europe and establish a foundation for me!"

Looking at Fan Zeyu, Lin Kuang wore a smile, but his tone was grave and his deep eyes were filled with earnestness.

Fan Zeyu’s expression changed slightly. "To Europe?"

"That’s right, Europe. I have a feeling I’m going to have many, many enemies in the future, and it’s not easy for me to build my own force in the country. Therefore, I can only ask this of you. Go to Europe and help me build a foundation!" Lin Kuang repeated, his tone incredibly serious.

"Alright. What are the arrangements once I get there? Will there be anyone to support me?" Fan Zeyu asked, watching Lin Kuang.

"No. I do have people in Europe, but I don’t want you to use them. I want you to do this yourself. Of course, I’ll give you their contact information," Lin Kuang said calmly.

Hearing this, Fan Zeyu nodded in understanding. "Alright, I understand. When do I leave?"

"If possible, right now," Lin Kuang said with a smile.

"Alright, I’ll leave now." As he spoke, Fan Zeyu stood up and turned to leave.

"Wait a minute. Do you have any money?" Lin Kuang asked.

"Hmm, not a huge amount, but I have about eight or ten million in savings," Fan Zeyu replied after a glance at Lin Kuang.

At his words, Lin Kuang nodded. "Good. Be careful, and don’t forget—you’re a dead man now." Watching Fan Zeyu, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but remind him.

"I understand. I’ll be careful. Well then, goodbye," Fan Zeyu said, looking at Lin Kuang one last time.

Lin Kuang nodded. "Alright. Have a safe journey."

"Mm." Fan Zeyu nodded again, then turned and walked straight out of the study, leaving the Yang Family estate behind.

Watching Fan Zeyu depart, Lin Kuang reappeared in the main hall.

Fan Zeyu, don’t disappoint me. I believe you won’t. Lin Kuang muttered to himself.

Building his own force wasn’t an impulsive idea for Lin Kuang; it was a plan that had been forming in his mind for a long time. He knew what the Lin Family was facing. The family was held up only by the Old Master. Without him holding the line, the Lin Family would have collapsed long ago. Although Lin Kuang’s father, Lin Guodong, held a respectable position in Yanjing, he wouldn’t be able to hold things together without the Old Master.

Furthermore, the Old Master suffered from a hidden illness. To be blunt, there was no telling when he might pass away. Because of this, Lin Kuang had to seize every moment to grow stronger. He had to build a force capable of protecting the Lin Family. It was something he must do.

"Are you two finished talking?" Liu Shilin couldn’t help but ask. After all, Lin Kuang and Fan Zeyu had only been in there for a moment before coming out, which seemed a bit too quick.

"Yeah, we’re done. Just some minor issues," Lin Kuang said, smiling at Liu Shilin.

"Speaking of which, isn’t it time for dinner?" Lin Guo’er asked with a grin.

"Sure, I’ll go cook with Sister Ruotong," Liu Shilin said with a laugh, then followed Yang Ruotong upstairs to change.

As for Lin Kuang, Yang Ruoxi, and Lin Guo’er, they stayed in the main hall to play with little Xinxin. The three adults were having a blast with the little imp.

However, the world outside was not so peaceful—certainly not for Gao Dongran.

The last time he had met Lin Kuang, Gao Dongran was left furious. He had gone to great lengths to win over Shen Yanxia, but a few words from Lin Kuang had plunged her into a state of inexplicable anxiety. Although Shen Yanxia hid it well, how could she possibly fool him?

In his study, Gao Dongran smoked, his expression grim. He had to eliminate his old rival, Lin Kuang. Of course, he wasn’t foolish enough to confront Lin Kuang head-on; that wasn’t a suitable option unless he had no other choice.

"Lin Kuang, I’d like to see just what you’ve been up to in East Sea. Anyone who associates with you won’t come to a good end!" Gao Dongran said, his face dark.

"Gao Li, come in." After finishing his cigarette, Gao Dongran called out.

As he spoke, the door opened, and a man in his thirties wearing gold-rimmed glasses walked in.

"Young Master Gao, you called for me?" Gao Li asked with a smile that seemed to hold no real respect for Gao Dongran.

Gao Dongran glanced at him coolly. "Did you have your people investigate what Lin Kuang has been doing in East Sea?"

"I did. We’re getting continuous updates," Gao Li said with a smile.

"Then why haven’t you told me?" Gao Dongran asked evenly.

"Because the report wasn’t complete yet, so I didn’t bring it over," Gao Li replied, his smile never wavering.

"Gao Li, I hope you haven’t forgotten your place!" Gao Dongran’s eyes narrowed, a cold light flashing within them.

Seeing this, Gao Li just smiled and nodded. "Of course not. I would never forget that I am Young Master Gao’s assistant."

"Hmph. You’d better remember you’re my assistant. Now, bring me the files you’ve gathered," Gao Dongran snorted.

"Right away, Young Master Gao. Please wait a moment." With that, Gao Li turned and left.

A moment later, he returned with a manila envelope and placed it on the desk in front of Gao Dongran.

"Young Master Gao, this is what Lin Kuang has been up to in East Sea recently. The guy is quite the ladies’ man," Gao Li said with a grin, utterly unconcerned by Gao Dongran’s sour expression.

Gao Dongran ignored him and began reviewing the file on Lin Kuang.

As he read, a cold smirk spread across his lips. "Quite a few women, huh? And he even has connections to the East Sea underworld. Tsk, tsk. Lin Kuang, you’re really courting death!"

Gao Li said nothing, simply standing to the side with that same smile.

"Gao Li, what do you think?" Gao Dongran asked, glancing at him.

"Are you referring to how we should deal with Lin Kuang?" Gao Li asked with a smile.

"Exactly. Tell me your thoughts," Gao Dongran said, his expression turning cold.

If it weren’t for the fact that Gao Li was his father’s favorite, Gao Dongran would have loved to punch the man to death. However, he couldn’t do that. He knew Gao Li was cunning, and more importantly, his own father had sent the man to assist him.
