Chapter 291: Healing [ 2 ]
"You don’t look very good," I remarked.
She looked bewildered. "Is that something you say to someone who’s on their deathbed?"
I raised a brow. "So you can talk properly. What was that earlier stunt about?"
Aliyah paused for a moment, her voice becoming clearer. "I’m close to dying, but I’m strong enough to hold my own. However... if I just suddenly drop dead one day, he’ll be too shocked. I need him to think the only reason I died was because I had succumbed to my injuries."
Huh.
How selfless of her to do that, especially when she was this close to death. But then again, I valued that side of her more than anything, which is why it was that much sadder for me to see her like this.
But...
"Do you seriously plan to die before you can teach me your techniques?" I asked, leaning back slightly. "For one, I don’t want you to die. And second of all, why would I not try to save you?"
She obviously didn’t know the full extent of what I could do. That also meant she didn’t know I could keep her alive for a bit longer with my Telekinesis. I could also use my Divine Energy to maybe accelerate her regeneration and make it possible for her to come back.
But then again, her heart was pierced and constantly bleeding. For me to even have a chance, I’d need to ask for the help of one of two people.
Clementine.
Or Adam, the Divine Healer.
I had no idea where Clementine was, but Adam should still be in the same area.
"My energy was drained, and my body was torn apart. It’s a miracle I managed to stay alive... and it’s Clementine who you should thank for that."
She met Clementine?
"Where is she?"
Aliyah let out a hollow chuckle. "See? You don’t really care that much about me after all. Well, she mentioned something about visiting her parents and making sure there’s no way they could be messed with. Then she said she’ll be busy leading the... well, she referred to them as the Main Cast."
So Kevin and the others.
"She wants to make them stronger, and she’ll do that so you’re not alone in the future. I’m jealous. If only Adam cared that much about me, he might actually be charming enough to date. Heh... Cough!"
Yeah, she was just rambling at this point. But that also made me realize how fast her life was fading away, so I decided to make it brief. I shut her mouth with my Telekinesis, and then enveloped her body in Atomic Stabilization.
It made her a lot more sturdy, sure, but it also made it easier for her to breathe, as well as control her energy, allowing some semblance of natural regeneration for her to begin. Obviously, that was nowhere near enough to save her, and so I decided to do the obvious and take her to Adam.
"What are you doing?" she asked, puzzled.
But I didn’t even try to entertain any more of her rambling as I went ahead and picked her up with my Telekinesis, making sure her body was covered so she didn’t grow cold. Though, when I thought about it, with Atomic Telekinesis, I could freely control the temperature of her body, so I decided to just make her warmer.
Then, I wrapped her in some cloth and, with her mouth covered, floated her outside. The moment Eric spotted me and his sister, his eyes widened as he immediately reached into his dimensional ring and pulled out a pitch-black katana.
"Put down my sister," Eric said fiercely.
Though I didn’t even take another glance at his shoddy attempt to look tough, as I went ahead and shut his mouth too before covering him in my Telekinesis and blasting off the ground, reappearing slightly above the clouds in an instant.
Aliyah didn’t feel the pressure much, but Eric, on the other hand, vomited all over the sky. His vomiting only grew worse when I began moving faster. Though, it was his fault for stress eating. If anything, I’m just helping him lose some weight here.
Ahem...
Regardless of what the kid was doing, we reached Hanazora in just a few seconds, and Adam’s mountain range less than a minute later. Honestly, it was so easy to do, to the point I began to wonder why Clementine didn’t just take Aliyah along and heal her?
I was confused, sure, but I still firmly believed that her reasons were pure. Not to mention, if she couldn’t heal Aliyah, then Adam was the only other person who could.
So as I descended atop his mountain, I felt his presence inside his hut. He was sleeping, and from the looks of it, he hadn’t realized that we had arrived.
Ah... right.
I forgot that no one could feel my presence anymore ever since I started hiding all my energy inside my Mind Realm.
Still, I’m sure he felt Aliyah’s presence at the very least, so what was this lazy bum doing?
I carefully set Aliyah and Eric aside, allowing Eric to vomit his guts out. On the other hand, I approached Adam’s hut and knocked on the door. No one answered even after several seconds had passed, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.
BOOOOOOOOOM!
With a single thought, I blasted the entire hut away, leaving only the table on which Adam slept. Not even his furniture remained. But one thing did catch my eye, and it was the tens of alcohol bottles littered across the ground, and one even in Adam’s hand.
In the couple of months that I hadn’t seen him... how the hell did he manage to become an alcoholic? What was this bullshit?
"Hey. Wake up. Now," I said, approaching him and poking his side. He reeked of booze with every breath he took, so once again, I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.
Of course, that taste was the electric chair.
