Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 874: Energy Turbulence

The colors of the flames presented different layers, transitioning from bright red to orange-yellow, then to blue-white, as if forming a vividly colorful world of fire.

The air was filled with a strong scent of sulfur, with waves of heat coming one after another, creating a suffocating feeling.

The scorching temperature of the flames made Ye Qingchen’s skin ache faintly, but he gritted his teeth and continued forward.

With every step, a burning heat emanated from the ground underfoot, as if walking on a scorching iron plate.

In the maze, there were many flame jets that occasionally shot out strong fire pillars, blocking some of the passages.

Ye Qingchen had to carefully observe and discern the pattern of the jets to pass safely.

Suspended above the flame maze were many gigantic flame orbs, sometimes still, sometimes rolling, occasionally falling onto the ground. Ye Qingchen had to constantly remain vigilant to avoid being hit by them.

On the walls of the maze were intricate runes carved into them, emitting a faint glow as if constituting some ancient array.

Whenever Ye Qingchen passed these runes, he felt a mysterious power surging through him.

These runes seemed to guide him and test his wisdom.

As Ye Qingchen delved deeper into the maze, he found hidden traps within.

The ground appeared smooth but was actually riddled with flame traps, which activated jets of scorching flames when stepped on.

Ye Qingchen cautiously avoided these traps, maintaining his composure while searching for the right path forward.

Deep within the maze, a massive Flame Gate stood before him.

Passing through this gate was the end of the first level, but reaching it required overcoming many difficulties and challenges.

In front of the Flame Gate lay a Lava Lake, its surface roiling with scorching lava, akin to Hell’s fire.

Ye Qingchen needed to find a safe path across this Lava Lake.

He walked cautiously while observing the environment around him.

He felt the maze’s heat waves assaulting him, each step burning his very soul.

Yet, this paled in comparison to the volcano he had encountered before.

Ye Qingchen constantly circulated the wood element within him to maintain his stamina and heat resistance.

Suddenly, a massive fire pillar blocked the path ahead. Ye Qingchen stopped to carefully observe the fire pillar’s patterns.

He discovered that the fire pillar paused briefly every few seconds, seizing this opportunity, he dashed past swiftly.

The fire pillar erupted behind him again, but he had already safely passed through.

Ye Qingchen continued on, skillfully avoiding flame traps and jets using keen observation and quick reflexes.

Sweat covered his forehead, but his gaze grew ever more resolute.

Finally, he arrived at the Lava Lake, staring at the rolling lava, knowing it was the final hurdle.

He scanned the surroundings for a usable path.

Suddenly, he noticed several floating stone slabs on the lake’s surface. Though fairly spaced apart, he believed his jumping ability would suffice to cross.

Taking a deep breath, Ye Qingchen channeled his Spiritual Power, leaping onto the first stone slab.

The slab wobbled slightly, but he steadied himself, advancing to the next.

Each leap required precise control and great strength, but Ye Qingchen never hesitated, crossing the Lava Lake step by step.

Standing before the Flame Gate, Ye Qingchen took a deep breath and pushed open the massive Stone Gate.

Exiting the maze, a refreshing breeze greeted him, bringing a sense of comfort.

However, just as he relaxed a bit, he suddenly felt the energy within him stirring unbidden.

Ye Qingchen frowned slightly, filled with confusion.

He sensed the wood and other elements within him churning, as if an uncontrollable force was awakening.

This force relentlessly impacted his meridians and Dantian, causing a vague sense of pain and discomfort.

He attempted to circulate his Spiritual Power, trying to calm the turbulence, but all efforts failed to lessen the energy’s turmoil, which instead intensified.

Ye Qingchen closed his eyes, took a deep breath, striving to calm himself and keenly perceive the changes within.

The turbulence seemed to arise from a hidden corner, a mysterious power awakening, yet it was both unfamiliar and violent.

Countless thoughts flashed through Ye Qingchen’s mind as he recalled his maze experiences, but found no clues.

He couldn’t help but ponder: where did this turmoil originate? Was it due to the Flame Maze, or influenced by some unknown force?

Although the tumultuous energy made him uneasy, Ye Qingchen was undeterred.

A brief suppression eased the turmoil slightly,

Ye Qingchen set aside his discomfort and strode towards the path ahead.

The second trial awaited, he couldn’t afford to waste time here.

Ye Qingchen arrived at the second trial’s entrance, faced with a gigantic Stone Gate.

The Stone Gate was carved with intricate runes and storm designs, symbolizing the impending challenge.

Pushing open the stone gate, Ye Qingchen entered Storm Gorge.

Entering Storm Gorge, Ye Qingchen immediately felt a strong air current rushing towards him.

The entire gorge was besieged by fierce winds, like roaring beasts, deafeningly loud.

The winds carried sand and stones, relentlessly battering everything within the gorge as if to tear apart all intruders.

The gorge’s cliff walls soared into the clouds, covered with sharp rocks and jagged protrusions.

Winds spiraled amid the cliff walls, forming large vortexes, like numerous hidden traps poised to devour any approaching creatures.

The gorge floor was uneven, composed of countless stones and sand, walking on it resembling treading on thin ice.

Each step required utmost caution, else risk being flung by the storm into a deep, unseen chasm.

A faint low hum echoed from the chasms as if beasts breathing from deep underground.

At the gorge’s depth, a massive stone bridge could be faintly seen, spanning the gorge’s walls, like the sole passage to the other side.

However, the stone bridge was likewise battered by the storm, its surface covered in thick frost and snow, traversing it akin to dancing on a knife’s edge.

Ye Qingchen stood at the gorge entrance, feeling the storm’s impact, he took a deep breath and adjusted his breathing.

The energy within him continued to stir, yet he forced himself to stay calm, focusing on the challenge ahead.

"Damn it, what’s wrong with this energy inside?"

Ye Qingchen was somewhat clueless; if this internal energy continued to be chaotic, he wouldn’t fare well in what followed.
