Chapter 865: Xue Wei Appears
Yet there was still a cold smirk hanging on his face. That smile carried a kind of confidence and chill, as if victory was already in his grasp.
Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao did not relax their vigilance. They kept up the offensive, but they also noticed the leader’s confident expression.
The leader wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his gaze sweeping coldly over Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao. There was a hint of mockery in his voice: "You think that beating me means you’ve won?"
Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao exchanged a look, a bad premonition rising in their hearts.
"Let me tell you, even if you defeat me, you’re still not getting out of here today." The leader sneered, cold light flashing in his eyes. "We’re just the appetizer. The real powerhouse is about to arrive."
Ye Qingchen’s brows knit slightly as he grew inwardly wary. He knew the leader would never speak without backing. Xue Zhao couldn’t help but tighten her grip on the short weapon in her hand, her gaze alert as she swept her surroundings.
"You are doomed to die today." The leader went on, his tone full of confidence and arrogance. "Xue Wei has already made foolproof preparations. You have absolutely no way to escape. No matter how strong you are, in the face of our Xue Family’s power, it’s all futile."
His voice rang out sonorous and forceful, full of oppression, making Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao both feel a strange pressure.
The leader’s sneer deepened; it was as if he could already see Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao’s miserable defeat.
"So right now, you have no chance of winning at all." The leader pressed forward step by step. Though he was badly injured, that confidence and wild arrogance made him seem even more dangerous.
Ye Qingchen calmed himself, his gaze blazing. He knew the leader’s words were not empty, but he would not retreat because of them.
He spoke to Xue Zhao in a low voice: "Heh, you don’t need to scare us like that. You people are nowhere near our match."
Xue Zhao nodded slightly, a hint of cool composure flashing in her eyes. "You’re just making a dying struggle."
The leader burst into loud laughter. "Then let’s just wait and see!"
"Is that so? Then let’s see just how capable you really are." Ye Qingchen replied coldly. His Longsword swept out once more, sword light like a rainbow, driving straight at the leader’s chest.
The cold smirk on the leader’s face did not fade. He swung his sword to parry—his body was wounded, yet that confidence did not lessen. His attacks grew even more ferocious, as if to prove that every word he’d spoken was fact.
The battle raged on, and Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao silently ramped up their vigilance.
Just as Ye Qingchen, Xue Zhao, and the leader were locked in fierce combat, suddenly, a powerful surge of aura rolled in from afar.
It was as if the very air was suffused with a sense of oppression; the temperature around them seemed to drop in an instant, the chill on the Snowfield turning even more bone‑piercing.
"The master is here." A cold smirk appeared on the leader’s face, a smug gleam flashing in his eyes.
Immediately after, a figure slowly appeared in everyone’s field of vision.
It was a man wearing a white cloak, intricate and mysterious patterns embroidered upon it, the fabric lightly fluttering with his steps.
His features were handsome yet stern, his eyes sharp like a hawk’s, radiating a powerful pressure.
Every step he took was steady and unhurried, as if everything around him was fully under his control.
As he drew nearer, the aura in the area grew heavier and heavier, as though even the air had condensed into something solid.
That oppressive force made everyone feel suffocated.
It was Xue Wei. His entrance was grand and overwhelming, inspiring awe in every person present.
When Xue Wei stepped onto the battlefield, all the people of the Xue Family immediately halted what they were doing and bowed to him in unison, their posture respectful and solemn.
Even the leader, who had just been fighting fiercely, instantly sheathed his sword and retreated, bowing his head respectfully as he saluted: "Young Master."
"Young Master!" All the Xue Family disciples shouted in Qi Sheng, their voices uniform and resonant, as if endless power was echoing within them.
Every face showed an expression of piety and reverence, their eyes brimming with worship.
Xue Wei came to a stop and swept a cold gaze around, his eyes pausing on Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao for a brief instant.
There was a trace of scorn and disdain in his eyes, the cold cruelty of someone looking at prey.
"I didn’t expect you to hold out this long." Xue Wei’s voice was low and icy, carrying a tremendous sense of oppression.
There was not the slightest emotion in his words. It was as if granting life or death was his natural right.
Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao exchanged another look, a foreboding chill rising in both their hearts.
They hadn’t expected Xue Wei to appear in person.
Everyone was well aware of Xue Wei’s strength. His arrival turned an already grim situation into one riddled with deadly peril.
"Xue Wei, you finally show yourself." Ye Qingchen said coldly, gripping his Longsword tighter, his gaze resolute.
For such a long time.
This Xue Wei really knew how to hide.
"Your struggle is meaningless." Xue Wei gave a faint smile, his voice tinged with absolute confidence and control. "Today, you are destined not to leave here."
As soon as he finished speaking, the Xue Family disciples behind him once again cried out in Qi Sheng: "Young Master mighty!"
Their thunderous voices echoed across the entire Snowfield, as if cheering for their Young Master.
"Everyone, hear my command—surround Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao!" Xue Wei ordered coldly, his tone carrying unquestionable authority.
The Xue Family disciples moved at once. Their actions were precise and unified, clearly well‑trained. They swiftly closed in around Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao, weapons in hand gleaming with cold light under the sun, killing intent surging.
Faced with such a formation, Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao couldn’t help but back up a few steps.
"Damn it, Ye Qingchen, we came unprepared. If this really turns into a full‑on fight, we might not win."
Xue Zhao muttered in a low voice.
She had long anticipated that Xue Wei would do something like this, but hadn’t expected him to arrive so quickly.
Xue Wei’s appearance turned the whole battle situation upside down.
The people of the Xue Family swiftly tightened the encirclement around Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao, weapons clenched, eyes icy, murderous intent boiling.
The atmosphere over the entire scene was tense, like a powder keg ready to blow at the slightest spark.
And in this suffocating pressure, Xue Wei seemed especially composed and self‑assured.
He strode right up before Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao, a cold smirk tugging at his lips, his eyes filled with blatant contempt.
Every step he took carried a powerful aura, as if the entire battlefield lay under his command.
"The two of you had better not resist." Xue Wei’s voice was low and full of authority, his gaze cutting over Ye Qingchen and Xue Zhao like a blade. "In front of me, any resistance is futile."
Ye Qingchen gripped his Longsword tightly, watching Xue Wei with wary eyes, his heart filled with caution.
Xue Zhao, on the other hand, clenched her short weapon, her expression tinged with anger and defiance.
