The moment Kael was about to complete his sentence, Arthur had sensed it.

The unbridled and unrestrained bloodlust that was a second away from devouring the both of them, so he acted before his enemy could.

Using Garthel as the medium, Arthur summoned his Domain—Gartha.

An Immortal being able to summon a domain, even if an incomplete one... should have been an impossible thing to achieve, yet Arthur had done it, and that was the very reason he was feared and valued by the world.

Even with a broken core, Arthur had been able to go toe to toe against the other Sovereigns in the world, so now that his core was healed, with his powers being at their peak... there was no way Arthur would be defeated... at least not so easily.

From everything that he had learned so far, someone seemed to have been possessing the body of the Veltran princess, and Arthur could sense it... whoever the being possessing Diana was, its current strength was nowhere compared to what it should have been at its peak.

Still, the first clash itself was proof enough that the enemy was currently being able to display the power of an early Sovereign.

Being able to fight as an early Sovereign in its weakened state... the thought itself alarmed Arthur, as he had a guess about what the actual rank of the parasite could have been.

And though it could use the power of an early Sovereign... the way in which it was using the said power... Arthur felt like he was fighting someone in the middle tiers of the Sovereign core.

His domain had already covered the entirety of his vicinity, and whatever spell the enemy had used, was still clashing against the boundary of his domain, trying to overpower it through sheer brute strength.

"I must say... I had never seen someone like you even in the era of the war for Divinity. Being able to use a domain... is it due to that sword of yours?"

Arthur could clearly hear the words uttered in a soft feminine voice, though there was nothing soothing about them.

The ease with which the parasite was talking—

"You may be able to resist me, but for how long?"

"..."

Arthur couldn’t reply, because he had none.

If he had been fighting against a Sovereign before the latter could summon their domain, then Arthur would have been able to fight on a somewhat equal ground.

But now—

He had willingly entered the domain of the Sovereign to rescue Kael, so... his incomplete domain was being largely suppressed due to being present in a territory, whose every last particle was against his existence, and was using its full might to evict or... kill him.

"Give up kid, and I may spare your life."

’Diana’ spoke, her every word echoing within Arthur’s domain, as if it was surrounded from all sides... and in reality it was indeed trapped by Diana’s domain from all around.

Every inch of Arthur’s domain was currently fighting against the intrusion of the foreign domain... trying its best to survive the ordeal, and to some extent it was surviving, which was proof enough of the Immortal’s abnormal power.

Still, Diana wasn’t a nobody either.

She had already felt and lived through the peak of the Sovereign core, and had surpassed its limitations to ascend further on the path to become a God.

She was a God or to say... she had been one before having to fake her death.

Now in the body that she was, Diana could only use her powers in the early Sovereign rank, though due to her deep insight and understanding of the laws of the world and the mana in it... she was able to display a greater output despite being restrained by the limits of her current pathetic body.

Objectively, the body that she was using in the present was by far the best one that she could get, as the Veltran blood after all... had secrets of its own.

Secrets that had long been lost, and those who knew about them... were no more, their deaths hidden or erased from the annals of history.

"I could say the same for you."

This time it was Arthur who spoke up, his voice having hints of Kael’s arrogance in it.

Maybe the kid had really rubbed off on him.

"Is that so? Let’s see how long you can last."

The moment Diana completed her sentence, Arthur felt it.

His domain... it had begun to crack under the increased pressure from the outside.

Though Arthur was using his mana to repair the cracks in the domain, the rate at which his mana was being drained was alarming to say the least.

And being cut off from the outside world, Arthur was left all alone, unable to absorb the mana from nature to replenish his lost reserves.

But... it wasn’t like brute force was enough to end him.

"It’s been a long time since we have fought together, hasn’t it?"

Arthur had his eyes fixed on Garthel, as he softly uttered the question in a voice that was closer to a whisper.

The sword shined with a soft radiance signalling its will to the one who now wielded the blade in his hands.

"Haa..."

Taking a deep breath, Arthur steadied himself before raising Garthel with its tip pointed towards where he could sense Diana and—

"Lumino."

Arthur’s core roared under the pressure of his ability, as massive amounts of mana entered Garthel through the hilt.

"Hm?"

Diana’s voice resounded from beyond Arthur’s domain, but his mind registered none of it, as—

"You pest!"

The parasite roared in annoyance, before dodging the beam of mana that was launched through the black domain before her.

"All that show, only to miss hitting your target—"

"Missed? I don’t think so."

Arthur smirked as he withdrew his domain to surround himself instead of spreading it thinly against Diana’s domain.

Diana’s eyes widened as she willed her domain to block the beam of mana that was headed straight towards one of the extreme corners.

"You had brought Kael in your domain rather discreetly, and knowing that you are being cautious of the Sovereign of Namda... I take it that you don’t wish for the world to witness our fight."

Arthur uttered each word in a provocative tone.

His aim had never been to damage Diana, but to pierce through the domain of hers and let his attack invade the real world.

Surely the woman before him wouldn’t want the world to know about the fight that was taking place at this very instant.

Still, Arthur’s decision came with its own risks, as it would also result in his existence and relation with Kael becoming known.

But Arthur was betting on Diana’s aim to stay hidden from the world, and—

He had won the bet, as he could sense tremendous amounts of mana being utilised by the enemy to nullify his attack.

Diana was now occupied, so what better chance was there to make her play with him... a little more.

The world of purple in Arthur’s path began to crack, as he launched himself towards Diana, with Garthel emitting waves of mana to dispel the suppression that the foreign domain was trying to inflict on the former.
