Chapter 748 - 767: Rakshasa City
Two days later, Lin Feng’s Chaotic Dragon Power finally recovered safely, thanks to the absorption of the Star Crystal. Without it, absorbing top-grade Star Stones would have taken at least four or five days, leaving Lin Feng feeling quite depressed and helpless.
Although the realm enhancement was a good thing, the consumption was a bit hard to keep up with. It used to only take one day, but now it requires two days. Who knows how long it will take when my power increases in the future.
Lin Feng stood up, the mountain breeze blowing across his face felt quite refreshing. This incident must have caused quite a stir; it seems I’ll have to be more low-key in the future. For now, the priority is finding Kong Feifei — perhaps only after absorbing her Nether Yin Qi, will I have the qualifications to roam freely in this Netherworld.
Remember, Kong Feifei had asked me to meet her at Rakshasa City. Without delay, Lin Feng immediately set out toward the direction where Kong Feifei had departed. To Lin Feng now, a journey of ten thousand miles is just a few instances of Instant Teleportation.
Soon, Lin Feng stopped, as the journey distance was almost covered. A huge city was a few miles ahead, but Lin Feng had never been to Rakshasa City and wasn’t sure if the city he saw was it. If not, he’d need to enter the city to find out.
Lin Feng continued to cloak himself in Ghost Qi, covering his head with a hood to prevent others from seeing him clearly, and landed in a quiet place before slowly making his way onto the main road leading into the city.
The road was bustling with people coming and going, among them humans, ghosts, and other races — completely different from Wangtu City.
Lin Feng didn’t ask anyone for directions, since he would soon be entering the city, and the city guards would provide necessary information, so there was no need to waste words.
Soon Lin Feng arrived at the city gate. At a glance, the city appeared almost as large as Wangtu City, quite impressive in scale. The gate guards were all of the Ghost Race, as this city still belonged to the territory governed by the Ghost Race.
There were words written on the city gate, but Lin Feng couldn’t recognize them, leaving him a bit frustrated. Shortly after, he was intercepted by the city guards.
It’s required to pay a city entry fee to enter the city. Lin Feng was aware of this rule, so he handed over a few Nether Stones to one of the guards, saying, "Sir, this should be enough, right?"
The guard accepted the Nether Stones and replied, "That’s enough, but I must warn you not to cause trouble in Rakshasa City, or you’ll die a miserable death."
"Yes! Yes! Yes! I understand!" Lin Feng replied respectfully, and soon he joined others in entering the city.
"So, this is indeed Rakshasa City! If it weren’t for finding Kong Feifei, why would I be polite with you lot? Daring to block my path, I’d have already slain you, but this Rakshasa City is quite peculiar, having so many races appear within its bounds," Lin Feng muttered to himself.
"The city’s indeed a mix of fish and dragons, but without oppressive behavior in the marketplace, what does that imply? It shows the management system here is very strict, indicating this City Lord must be a powerful expert! You better be cautious!" Sword Spirit advised.
Lin Feng looked around the streets of Rakshasa City. They were similar to Wangtu City, filled with various vendors shouting, and inns and tea houses were abundant. The only difference being the pairs of guards dressed in golden armor that occasionally appeared on the streets.
Lin Feng assessed their strength, the weakest among them had reached the Saint Martial Realm Second Level, and they were all Ghost Race members — indeed not simple.
While aimlessly wandering the streets, he occasionally overheard discussions about the destruction of Wangtu City. Lin Feng was surprised at how quickly the news spread, given Rakshasa City is over ten thousand miles away from Wangtu City — truly not simple.
Lin Feng didn’t bother to listen closely to the specifics of their conversations; at this moment, he needed to find Kong Feifei and then decide on what to do next.
While walking, suddenly a familiar voice cried out, "Little thief, why are you only coming now? Come quickly; something big has happened."
Lin Feng was startled, recognizing it as Kong Feifei’s voice. He had yet to find her, but she had already found him. Looking toward the voice, he spotted a woman wearing a black hood standing a distance away.
He hurried over, "Don’t say anything now; let me take you to a safe place first!" Kong Feifei said.
Ignoring Lin Feng’s expression, Kong Feifei turned and continued walking. After a while, they arrived before an inn, where she stopped and said, "I’m staying in room one under the Heaven character. Your room is room two under the same character. We’ll enter one after the other to avoid attracting attention from those with ulterior motives."
Lin Feng felt a bit down; he didn’t even know where room two under the Heaven character was, nor did he recognize the Netherworld’s language. "Isn’t room two under the Heaven character next to room one?"
Kong Feifei glanced begrudgingly at Lin Feng, puzzled at why he would ask such a thing, possibly suspecting ulterior motives. Remembering his past actions toward her made her a bit worried, but for the moment she couldn’t help but nod, "Right next door!"
Then Kong Feifei entered the inn, while Lin Feng waited outside for a while. He already had a plan; although he was unfamiliar with the direction and couldn’t read the language, he could let Sword Spirit or Chu Qing use Divine Sense to find the room — once he’d found Kong Feifei, the room next door would naturally be his own.
After considering, Lin Feng decided to let Sword Spirit assist him since Chu Qing mentioned she would need to sleep for a while, and Lin Feng didn’t want to disturb her. So he relayed his idea to Sword Spirit.
Sword Spirit quickly provided the result to Lin Feng, who then entered the inn, though he was stopped by the inn’s attendant. "Guest is staying or dining?" he asked.
"I’m staying; the room is already booked, so there’s no need to trouble you!" Lin Feng replied.
The attendant, a member of the Human Race with strength around the Fifth or Sixth Layer of the Martial Realm, seeing Lin Feng’s sincerity said, "Then please, guest! If you need anything, just let me know!"
Lin Feng nodded slightly and headed toward the direction Sword Spirit had indicated, eventually finding Kong Feifei sitting in her room. With no one in the corridor at the moment, Lin Feng quickly flashed into her room.
Kong Feifei didn’t shy away; instead, she casually waved the door shut, looked at Lin Feng, and angrily said, "You’ve caused a massive catastrophe this time. The entire Netherworld is issuing a bounty for you; what’s your plan now?"
Astonished, Lin Feng asked, "What’s going on here? How did it become the entire Netherworld searching for me? Didn’t I just destroy one King’s Map City? What’s the big deal?"
Kong Feifei nearly wanted to punch him, making him see stars. Despite the looming disaster, this guy was acting indifferent, leaving her with no choice but to inform him about the Ghost King’s bounty on him... (continued in the evening)
