Chapter 734 - 754: Return to Wangtu City
Chu Linfeng looked at the colossal creature and laughed, "Foolish creature, daring to come and die!" The Cyan Frost Sword in his hand sank, and the Celestial Slash was unleashed, the massive Sword Qi attack instantly striking the approaching Nether Lizard.
Instantly, the Nether Lizard was shattered into pieces by Chu Linfeng, rather than the previous phenomenon of being split in half. Only a cloud of blood mist was left in the air, not even the Illusion Stone remained.
Killing the Nether Lizard with one stroke, Chu Linfeng was slightly stunned; this was too terrifying, yet it was a pity about the Illusion Stone. He felt a bit regretful in his heart, then began to collect the spoils from the slain Ghost Race individuals.
Soon enough, Chu Linfeng had collected about fifty wooden tokens, and of course, some Nether Stones. In the Netherworld, these Nether Stones are as good as Star Stones.
Chu Linfeng glanced at the Ghost Race corpses he had slain and unleashed another Celestial Slash, completely making them disappear into the Land of the Dead, utterly destroying them. Apart from a huge fissure, nothing else was left on the ground.
Flying into the air, Chu Linfeng smiled at Sword Spirit and said, "Not a bad harvest, if we continue like this, we can definitely beat Kong Feifei. I wonder what she’s up to right now; I really want to go see her."
"You should keep working hard, I believe Kong Feifei has gathered more wooden tokens than you right now. Looking at your smug expression makes me uncomfortable, let Qing’er accompany you, I’m going back to sleep." After speaking, Sword Spirit transformed into a silver sword and flew into the center of Chu Linfeng’s brow.
Chu Linfeng looked helplessly at the spot where Sword Spirit had disappeared. When did I offend this goddess? Could it be that she’s jealous? She can’t be that petty!
"Qing’er, let’s go!" Chu Linfeng said to Chu Qing.
"Big brother, I need to go back and sleep too. I’m still a bit uncomfortable after transforming into a human form, but rest assured, I can still help you keep watch inside the Storage Ring. Call me whenever you need." Chu Qing replied.
Chu Linfeng was suddenly uneasy. Had these two conspired long ago? Otherwise, why were they in such a hurry to leave, deliberately leaving me in a fix?
"Qing’er, help me check which places have the most Ghost Race people here. You just need to mention a few places; I’ll find them myself." Chu Linfeng said, feeling annoyed.
"Alright, hold on!" Chu Qing replied. After a flash of green light and a burning incense stick’s time had passed, she said, "The Ghost Race is most numerous in the west; if you head there, you will encounter many. There are some in the south, but you might not want to go there, as there is a woman frantically slaying, and her speed in killing is not weaker than yours."
Chu Linfeng knew the woman Chu Qing spoke of was Kong Feifei, only she could possess such prowess, "Alright, I understand, thank you!"
Chu Qing nodded, and the green light on her body surged, transforming her into the appearance of the Wind Stabilizing Pearl, extremely mysterious. Chu Linfeng then placed her into the Storage Ring; if he told others that a pearl could transform into a little girl, surely they would think him crazy, but it was indeed so.
Chu Linfeng looked at the distant sky and instantly used Instant Teleportation to fly in the direction Qing’er mentioned.
To beat Kong Feifei without losing face, Chu Linfeng became a killing madman, slaying countless Ghost Race members along the way, leaving no survivors. Of course, he didn’t forget to absorb Ghost Qi, as when reaching Wangtu City, Ghost Qi is the best cover for disguising his identity.
Currently, the wooden tokens inside Chu Linfeng’s Storage Ring had piled into a small mountain; he didn’t want to kill anymore. These tokens should suffice to beat Kong Feifei, as having too many would attract the attention of the Ghost Race. The remaining time he used to hunt monsters in the Land of the Dead, killing numerous beasts among the Five Great Races, and obtaining hundreds of Illusion Stones.
That day, he was resting on a clean big rock when Sword Spirit suddenly said, "Lin Feng, today is the day you leave. This trip in the Land of the Dead has been exceptionally fruitful, your strength has broken through and you’ve obtained the Five Elements Fruit, but you mustn’t act recklessly outside, there are many much stronger than you."
"I know that, if only I had a few more months, I could cultivate Wind Transformation and Thunder Transformation here, and there are several Forbidden Lands Qing’er mentioned that I haven’t encountered. There must be good things there; I wanted to ask her about specific locations, but recently, I’ve been busy hunting monsters and neglected it." Chu Linfeng said.
"I know those restrictions are useless to you. This is the Netherworld, as I told you before, it’s just a branch point of the real Netherworld; the forbidden places in the Land of the Dead probably seal some very powerful entities. If you break through the restriction, you’d be risking your life. I’m not trying to scare you, it’s for your own good; don’t think I don’t want you to benefit." Sword Spirit said.
A chill ran through Chu Linfeng’s heart; thankfully, he hadn’t asked Qing’er to help, otherwise the consequences would have been unimaginable. He just couldn’t understand why such seals would exist here; a branch point of the real Netherworld, how vast is the real Netherworld? He had used Instant Teleportation countless times in the Land of the Dead but never reached an end.
"Got it, I thought you were angry and ignoring me!" Chu Linfeng laughed.
Just then, a violent tremor appeared in the air where Chu Linfeng was, followed by a Teleportation Gate appearing in the sky, and his wooden tokens flew out from the Storage Ring. A white light appeared on the tokens, momentarily shooting towards the Teleportation Gate, then the tokens returned to the Storage Ring.
This left Chu Linfeng puzzled; such wonders he couldn’t explain, as creating such phenomena required an extraordinary expert, and he couldn’t fathom the strength of such an expert.
The powerful pull from the Teleportation Gate came, but Chu Linfeng could easily resist it; however, he chose not to fight it and let himself be pulled into the Teleportation Gate.
Chu Linfeng knew he could fly directly into the Teleportation Gate, but those Ghost Race members who hadn’t gathered enough Illusion Stones couldn’t, thereby unable to reach the Teleportation Gate. If one missed the timing, they’d be stuck here forever. Chu Linfeng wondered if these creatures were formed this way.
Upon entering the Teleportation Gate, his form flashed to another place—a vast square, not the desert land.
There were over a thousand people standing on the square, most were participants in the competition. Chu Linfeng didn’t expect to be the last to teleport; it was quite rare. Then, a middle-aged man in a black robe spoke, "This entry into the Land of the Dead, everyone must have deeply experienced it. It’s surprising that this was the fewest returnees ever; those who returned have passed the test. Now it’s time to show your spoils. Anyone with a hundred wooden tokens will directly advance, and thirty Illusion Stones will also qualify. I know many might not know what Illusion Stones are, but you’ll find out shortly. Now, please arrange your queues, and we’ll start one by one..."
