Beneath the Red Dragon

The sun rose high, and in the sky above the sea, the figure of a Giant Dragon began to appear, even in the wilderness outside the town, occasionally there were one or two wild Giant Dragons hurrying past.

This task was previously completed by Adult Silver Dragon Chris Tianna along with two Bronze Dragons, Gross and Natarili.

With the experience from before, these Giant Dragons became accustomed to the indirect strategies of the Golden Empire.

But the wild Dragons did not consider that it was precisely because the manpower of the Golden Empire temporarily could not expand more wilderness and forests, they let these Dragons consider the wild areas as nesting grounds.

As these wild Dragons began establishing order around their nesting territory and were gradually influenced by the Golden Empire, it equated to these wild Dragons indirectly helping the Empire to pioneer territory.

So, although the Empire’s policies brought about some chaos and troubles in many respects, ultimately they achieved the most important outcomes.

Due to the time agreed with the Lord of the Dark Nest not yet arriving, both Karon and Gomot, two exceptionally large Dragons, transformed into humanoid Dragon Descendant forms, planning to wander around this small town on the West Hammer Coast.

Since the territory was established, Karon had never set foot in the Imperial bustling market in the image of an ordinary Dragon Descendant, finding a sense of novelty.

Especially since the Empire’s architectural style is almost continuous, from the perspective of an ordinary Dragon Descendant, the gradually bustling small town seemed extraordinarily expansive.

The Legion Warriors guarding the town scattered outside, organizing into smaller units, with only a few Dragon Descendants hiding among the town’s people.

Karon and the White Dragon Gomot, transformed into Dragon-men approximately 1.9 meters tall, walked down the town’s streets, not considered particularly tall.

However, this small town named ’Sea of Fury’ was frequented mostly by Dwarves, Vampire Species, Elves, and humans. Many races from the Imperial heartlands such as Ogres, Giant Demons, and Jackal-Wolf Men were not commonly seen here.

Karon even saw many Half-Elves in the crowd, who were quite short, more frail than Dwarves, and were immigrants or tourists from the Western Continent.

However, the figures of Nagas also began appearing more frequently in the Imperial border towns.

Especially many female Nagas, despite having four arms and somewhat fearsome snake tails, possessed elegant body curves and an alternative kind of beauty that made many stationed pirates in the town whistle.

However, though these pirates harbored intentions, they didn’t dare cause trouble within the Empire’s borders.

The strength of these Nagas was no weaker than ordinary pirates, only stronger.

Furthermore, offending the Nagas might result in just a severe beating, but if one violated the laws of the Golden Empire, then they’d suffer.

At the lesser extent, fines in Gold Coins could strip the pirates of their blood-earned wealth, forcing them to bankrupt themselves to buy back their freedom. At the severe extent, they would be immediately detained by the vigilant patrol guards, with their crimes publicly listed, and directly hanged at the dock.

The pirates’ freedom and safety in the Golden Empire could be protected, but once they broke the law, the punishment they faced would be heavier than ordinary folk, a reasonable adjustment made by the Empire to warn the lawless.

The distant sounds of thousands of laborers bustling about on the docks faintly echoed over, adding to the bustling atmosphere of the town.

"It seems the town mayor has managed things here quite well," White Dragon Gomot said, somewhat relieved.

With worries set aside, Gomot was no longer as calm as before, his aura becoming lively as well.

"It seems the administrative system of the Empire has become self-contained and mature enough to stabilize the place within such a short period of time,"

Karon nodded as well, strolling forward.

"Unfortunately, the southern noble forces have not yet reached here, otherwise with their ambition and wealth, this port could develop even faster,"

Looking at the taverns, Magic Weapon shops, and wholesale material markets along the road, Gomot said with some regret.
