Beneath the Red Dragon

Golden Empire, West Cliff Coast.

As the sun leapt up from the distant sea horizon, the sails on the sea had long been fluttering unstably.

The near sea was calm, with layers of shallow waves hitting the cold and salty coast and hull, mixing the sound of tides with the cries of seabirds above the sea.

The climate on the West Sea Coast is not as warm as the heartland of the Golden Empire. The cold sea winds sent by the Sea of Fury from the west are especially chilling in the morning and evening. Everyone traveling or residing in the West Sea needs to wrap themselves in warm robes.

Although White Dragon Gomot was the first to awaken the dormant ancestral bloodline among the Gogomola Dragon Group, other than Karon, the white dragon is a relatively weak dragon species, and its size grows especially large to bear stronger power and magic abilities.

Yet, standing next to Karon, White Dragon Gomot appeared rather small and agile.

Not far behind the two giant dragons followed Divine Favor Naga Jaluun and the Defense Chief of West Shore Port, along with an agile Two-headed Ogre Sage.

Around the hill, there were fifty Golden Guard and fifty Storm Giant Guards concealed among the jagged rocks, loyally performing their duties.

Beyond the Golden Guard and Storm Giant Guard was an entire unit of Frost Giant Warriors, numbering five hundred.

These Frost Giant Warriors are the Imperial Forest Guard that White Dragon Gomot selected from the Frost Giant slaves, a dedicated guard corps that every Dragon King of the empire possesses.

To this end, the empire’s military workshops also specifically tailored a batch of military equipment for these Frost Giants’ abilities and physical characteristics, arming them like ironclad barrels.

After education by the empire’s iron fist and philosophy, these Frost Giants now feel fortunate for escaping their slave status.

White Dragon Gomot also promised that if these Frost Giants performed well, they would have the opportunity to gain freedom within the empire, breaking free from the constraints of the Dragon King contract.

Thus, the combat strength of this White-Scaled Guard Corps is by no means inferior to any legion of the empire.

And on the distant plains behind the giant dragons, besides the ever-expanding seaside town and the World Python’s steel railway tracks gradually extending,

there stood a thousand Death Knights patrolling like wild dogs, with Centaur Zogo standing on the expansive hills.

Outside of these Centaur Heavy Armor Knights, dozens of knights riding flying dragons scattered in the sky, scouting every movement.

In the even outermost region, there were over two hundred kobold and dragon-man scouting teams, ensuring that the movements within a radius of tens of miles were completely under control.

Despite Karon and Gomot being powerful giant dragons and having ample safety guarantees within the empire,

both dragons are now immense rulers of the empire, and cannot be as casual as they were in their youth. Even though their personal guards serve as much as they do.

If it weren’t for Karon’s firm refusal, perhaps the ever-growing maid corps in the Dragon King Court would also follow the Chief Maid Charlize’s request to serve the emperor of the empire, ensuring the Red Dragon is perfectly comfortable.

"If we weren’t on the distant West Hammer Coast, but at the intersection of any civilized nation, maybe such a travel size would make others think the Golden Empire intends to declare war on them,"

White Dragon Gomot said with a soft laugh.

This size of guards already counts as an elite small mixed corps. If placed in any region in the Southern North, it could easily sweep a legion of thousands.

Especially with the Death Knight Thousand-Man Squad led by Centaur Zogo, combined with the dragons’ agile mobility, in the vast plains, they could easily strike, defeating enemies more than ten times their number.

Karon gently swayed his massive head, smiling with enjoyment, "I have tried my best to reduce the accompanying personnel. If following those officials’ plans, the Golden Fleet on the sea would have to return from the islands, consuming time and resources, just to showcase the emperor’s majesty."

Although the Dragon King Court is constantly expanding, allowing this thirty-meter Red Dragon to move freely, it ultimately cannot compare to measuring the empire’s territory and viewing the mountains and seas firsthand, bringing joy to the dragons.

After the news that the emperor of the Golden Empire would tour the west and visit the Elven Kingdom of the Western Continent to establish a friendly and mutual alliance spread out, those giant whales hidden under the sea had not yet been attracted by the Red Dragon’s bait, but the lord of the Western Continent’s Dark Nest sent envoys voluntarily with messages, requesting a meeting with the emperor of the empire.
