Chapter 697 - 101: Dragon and Dragon (3)
But thinking of her purpose and the outcome of this trip, Chris’s body cooled down again.
She lifted her head, facing Karon’s aggressive gaze, her teeth like shell jade clattering with a cold sound, "I’m glad to have received the Dragon Emperor’s approval, but ultimately, I am not qualified to stay on this land. Just like a dragon’s praise, it might not be sincere, perhaps my abilities do not meet the requirements of the Gogomola Dragon Group."
Karon looked at the humanoid Silver Dragon Chris, his heart stirred slightly.
In terms of the aesthetics of humanoid races, the humanoid forms of Antajena and Kleyna are distinctive beauties, but even among the naturally outstanding female dragons of the Gogomola Dragon Group, they slightly fall short compared to Chris’s appearance.
Her humanoid form is taller than other female dragons, with slender and straight calves, plump and round thighs, and dragon horns transformed amidst her hair, making her appear like a snow deer from the mountains.
Chris wore a silver strap dress resembling narrow leaves, these elongated silver leaves subtly flowed with the breaths of the Silver Dragon, glimpses of her soft, snow-white skin and figure visible between the leaves.
The Dragon Contract imprint on her forehead, as if Karon had once personally engraved it, added a unique charm to her.
And around Chris’s long, fair neck was a black velvet choker, with a translucent, dazzling ruby embedded in its center, a gift Karon once bestowed upon the Silver Dragon.
Though outwardly resembling a noble Valkyrie, Silver Dragon Chris’s continually shining gaze, however, seemed like that of a little deer.
Thus, Karon’s voice softened, different from his previous tone.
"Chris, look into my eyes," Karon extended his hand, holding Chris’s cheek that finally couldn’t resist turning away, and said lightly, "I know your sentiments toward the Empire, and I greatly appreciate your abilities."
"However, your abilities do not necessarily need to be showcased within the Empire."
The Silver Dragon Chris’s eyes brightened, her gaze locking onto Karon. "Are you saying?"
Karon quickly withdrew his hand to avoid any unintended implications. He smiled faintly and said, "I see the brilliance of the Silver Dragon race in you; though easily deceived by hypocrisy, at least, many Silver Dragons possess the potential to be changed, like you."
Karon folded his hands, pacing to stand beside the drawing desk, lightly tapping the blank paper on the desk, saying, "The Silver Dragons of your race have been dyed a different color by fundamentalism, but the Empire’s ideology and civilization can dye some Silver Dragons into another color we desire."
"Giant Dragons born with long lifespans, intelligent beyond other races, shouldn’t waste it on animal-like behaviors."
"Giant Dragons should be a race striving for progress. If many Giant Dragons gathered together, utilizing their talents, striving for evolution, what achievements could we accomplish?"
Silver Dragon Chris watched Karon eloquently speak, though in her heart, this was also the ancestral Red Dragon’s ambition manifesting.
In the myriad worlds like drops in the ocean, or in the Star Realm, many Giant Dragon Lords exist, or various self-important Dragon Kings.
But none, like Karon Gogomola, aspired to become the Dragon Emperor ruling all dragons, creating a Civilization Nation with dragons, rivaling the glorious ancient Giant Dragon era.
This was something the Dragon Gods in the Divine Kingdom could not accomplish.
The size of ambition matches the magnitude of capability; perhaps this is the aggressive charm belonging to the ancestral Red Dragon.
This charm made Chris feel the ancestral Red Dragon’s voice seemed like hallucinations, vague and distant.
But the ancestral Red Dragon’s words made Silver Dragon Chris’s somewhat hazy spirit suddenly clear.
"I don’t want any future dragons to die by my hand due to their stubbornness and rigidity," Karon’s eyes calm as the sea, but his voice exuded piercing cold.
"Only through death do they experience fear, learn reflection, undergo transcendence, and embrace their own wisdom."
Chris’s eyes widened large, stammering, "I... surely not, right?"
Karon shook his head, "Rather than letting these dragons, these creatures, this world be harvested by those Gods before destruction, let them bloom out their final value in my hands."
"So, Chris, I want to believe in you, but can you be trusted by me?"
Silver Dragon Chris gritted her teeth, pondered for a long time, then spoke, "I will not betray my race, Karon, but if it’s just an attempt to change the mindset of those Metal Dragons, I will endeavor to try."
"Very good, that’s enough," Karon clapped his hands, lightly laughing, "But once you return, you will certainly face their attack, perhaps even more severe."
"Because you deviated from their fundamentalism, you are incompatible with them."
Chris shook her head, speaking softly, "I don’t care, just like all Silver Dragons willing to fight against stronger evils for their beliefs, I too can pay for this."
Karon shook his head gently, saying warmly, "But I don’t want you to pay any price."
Chris Tianna suddenly felt the scent of the male dragon igniting like a prairie fire deep within her heart, her face rapidly covered by dense fine scales.
