Chapter 362 - 140: Behemoth
The loyal steel cavalry of the Giant Dragons collided with the flesh and blood of the Beastman Army with a thunderous roar. The battlefield instantly turned into a hell of interwoven blood and bone.
Led by the terrifying Centaur Dragon Descendant Monster, Chiron, the steel cavalry charged forward with surging dust and clamor, crashing directly into the Beastman Army, which had not yet formed its defensive lines.
The knights forged of steel and iron were like an unstoppable blade frenzy, cutting through the Beastman Army. Countless Beastmen met their fated end at the very moment of impact.
The Beastmen raised their weapons with futile roars, but were instantly shattered by the countless flashing steel blades, their remaining bodies trampled into mud by the steel torrent.
Beastmen raising shields were also slashed along with their shields by the crisscrossing glint of blades. The Beastman caster still held up his magic staff, chanting spells loudly. Yet before the magic power’s spiritual light could rise, the steel torrent had already trampled over his remains, rushing forward.
Sweep all before you, wherever you go!
The Giant Dragons’ steel cavalry, carrying unmatched momentum, had in this brief moment carved through the forest of flesh and blood that was the tens of thousands strong Beastman Army.
These knights were like mountains on fire, their steel bodies as majestic as mountains, their blazing blades as swift as flames. Even the Giant Dragons dared not face their blades and bloodthirsty flames head-on.
The formation of the tens of thousands strong Beastman Army, seemingly powerful and solid, teetered on the brink of chaos and collapse, countless Beastmen retreating and disbanding the originally loose formation.
Swish, swish, swish,
The Centaur Dragon Descendant Monster’s long saber cut through several hook locks, and the massive body swept past the trapped Giant Dragons, leaving behind only a deep, appreciative roar: "Follow, follow, do not disgrace the blood of the dragons, destroy alongside me!"
Rumble, rumble,
The steel torrent swept past the Giant Dragons, the blade lights slicing through the surrounding Beastmen, severing the chains binding the Giant Dragons, and then charging forward without pause.
Roar,
The two Giant Dragons let out a furious bellow, despite bleeding all over, with shattered scales. They had already succumbed to the dragons’ fury and frenzy.
Blue Dragon Carlette and Green Dragon Ali struck the ground with their claws, their scales and muscles contracting and shaking off the blood-stained arrows and barbs, their taloned wings supporting the ground, and their four limbs running forward. The Giant Dragons joined the torrent of steel and iron.
The remaining scores of Flying Dragon Riders in the sky let out ecstatic shrieks, descending back from the sky, flanking the unstoppable heavy cavalry, with their long moon blade battle sabers gleaming bloodthirstily.
On the outskirts of the Beastman Army were the wild beast cavalry, the Kobolds and Green Skin Knights wielding short bows and crossbows, maneuvering like kites on the army’s perimeter, drawing attention away.
But their damage was not much less than that of the Centaur Cavalry.
Each shot from the single-shot firearms required reloading, but its power was enough to pierce the tough-skinned elephants of the plains. The disordered formations of Beastmen became dense targets before these beast knights.
They aimed and fired recklessly, then retreated to reload, returning to repeat this cycle.
The short crossbows and short bows wielded by other Kobolds and green-skinned goblins were not as powerful as firearms, yet still inflicted extensive damage as most Beastmen bore simple beast hide defenses.
"Surround and kill them, surround and kill them."
Several Tribe Chieftains stood under their tribe’s banners, roaring in fury, commanding the surrounding Beastman Warriors to try and block the heavy cavalry, to trap them and gradually wear them down.
But the sandstorm rolled, a storm of steel raged fiercely. The steel torrent, under the leadership of the powerful Centaur Dragon Descendant, was unstoppable.
The dragons roared, steel claws and iron tails rampantly tearing and slapping amidst the unruly grass and sand, joining the cavalry in carving through the entire Beastman Army.
The Dragon Descendant Monster’s gradually crimson pupils also noticed the banners amidst the Beastman encirclement. Slaying these Beastman Chiefs would immediately cause their army to collapse.
And not far away, the Beastman cavalry had already returned, approaching the battlefield, accelerating towards the direction where the Giant Dragon heavy cavalry punctured through the Beastman Army. Collision was imminent.
Those Beastman cavalry were the most elite of the entire Beastman Army. Many of their warriors wore armor and wielded fine weapons, led by a powerful Beastman Chief, charging in from the periphery, bypassing the hindrances of their army.
"Form up, shieldbearers to the front, reinforce the lines," the Chief hollered under the banners, attempting to regroup the scattered Beastman Army and restore their formation.
And Centaur Chiron, leading the cavalry that had penetrated the army, turned direction and quickly regrouped. His gradually Red Dragon-colored eyes swept over the silent cavalry unit.
Though these warriors were formidable and clad in sturdy heavy armor, a dozen or so had been knocked down by the strong Beastmen or struck by heavy hammers, exchanging life for life, falling silent forever on that battlefield.
The remaining heavy armor warriors were relatively unscathed, their sturdy iron armor impervious to the Beastmen’s crude weapons, though bearing marks. But having penetrated tens of thousands of troops, even these formidable knights were quietly catching their breath.
