ORION’S MANSION - STUDY - 3:15 AM
Orion saved the computer design files. Sent the final transmission to the lab. Leaned back in his chair and rubbed his eyes.
The God’s Core was done. Revolutionary computing architecture that would change everything. But his stomach was growling loud enough to be distracting.
He checked his phone. 3:17 AM.
When had he last eaten? Lunch yesterday. That was... fourteen hours ago.
"That explains the hunger," he muttered.
Orion stood up. His back was stiff from hours of sitting. He stretched, feeling his spine pop in several places. The cultivation kept him energized mentally, but his body still had basic needs.
He walked downstairs toward the kitchen. Found René already there.
The robot was preparing food on the counter. Grilled chicken. Steamed vegetables. Brown rice. A perfectly balanced meal.
"Good evening, Orion," René said without turning around. "You’ve been working for nine hours straight. I prepared a nutritious meal."
"How did you know I’d come down?"
"Your work pattern. You typically eat every six to eight hours. It’s been fourteen. Probability was high you’d need food soon."
Orion sat down at the kitchen island. "Thanks."
René plated the food. Set it in front of him along with a glass of water. "Also, Cassia and Nyla both sent messages. They’re staying out tonight. Cassia is at Starr HQ handling business expansion with the executive team. Nyla is studying with friends for exams."
"So it’s just us."
"Just us."
Orion ate slowly. The food was good. Exactly what his body needed. Protein for muscle recovery. Complex carbohydrates for sustained energy. Vitamins and minerals for cellular function.
His mind was still processing everything from the day. The system library. Hours of studying with time dilation. Complete mastery of Tier 1 knowledge across all fields. Significant understanding of Tier 2.
Then the design work. New replicators. Upgraded BCI. The God’s Core computer architecture.
And he still wasn’t done. The biological laboratory equipment needed designing. The cultivation technique needed combining and testing.
So much work ahead.
But first, something more important.
"Rene," Orion said through the BCI. "After I finish eating, we need to do a knowledge transfer. Everything I learned in the system library today. All of it."
"Everything?" Rene sounded surprised. "Orion, that’s... that must be years worth of education compressed into hours."
"Fifteen hours of subjective study time. Complete Tier 1 mastery across physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, computer science, and biology. Plus advanced Tier 2 knowledge in some fields. I haven’t had time to go through the tier 2 side."
Silence through the BCI connection. Then: "That will take significant time to transfer. And even longer for me to process and integrate."
"I know. But you need this knowledge. We’re going to be designing technologies that haven’t been invented. Building things Earth won’t develop naturally for decades or centuries. You can’t help with that if you don’t understand the principles behind them."
"Understood. When do you want to begin?"
"As soon as I finish eating."

Orion lay down on the couch in his study. The leather was cool against his back. Comfortable. He stared at the ceiling for a moment, preparing himself.

"How long?"

Orion stood up. Walked to the window. Watched the sky lightening. "You’re going to need it. What we’re building... it’s just the beginning."

Orion left the study. Walked down the hall toward his bedroom.
