Chapter 599: Phoenix’s Fury Chain Combo
The Heavenly Thunder Leopard was terrifying. Even with Princess Celeste’s Golden Bell Divine Light, Marcus’s full array of buffs, and the defensive power of the Adamant Shield Wall, the two of them had been unable to withstand its assault. One ultimate skill had been enough to completely overwhelm Marcus and send him to his death.
Princess Celeste’s guess had been right. After spending a thousand years roaming Ten-Thunder Mountain, the Heavenly Thunder Leopard had evolved into a true Divine Beast. They had underestimated it from the beginning.
"Stone..." Princess Celeste felt a sudden ache in her chest as she looked at Marcus’s fallen body. It was a hollow sense of loss unlike anything she had experienced before, and because she did not understand the unfamiliar feeling, it quickly transformed into anger.
"You damn leopard!" She ignored the Heavenly Thunder Leopard’s attacks and refused to retreat. Instead, she stood her ground and began chanting rapidly, preparing to unleash another ultimate skill from her Five-Element Staff, the Earth-element skill, Earth Dragon Eruption. She was going to avenge him.
However, by the time the Heavenly Thunder Leopard had finished unleashing its Heavenly Thunder Drill, Princess Phoenix and her Phoenix had finally caught up. As a melee knight, Princess Phoenix was now within her ideal combat range, and unlike before, she no longer had any reason to hold back.

The flames swirled violently around her before rapidly condensing into the Phoenix Heaven-Piercing Sword. In less than a second, the enormous amount of fire energy had been completely gathered into her blade. Princess Phoenix had finished charging.
"Phoenix’s Fury Chain Combo!" Her voice rang out once more.
The moment she swung her sword, the terrifying fire energy she had accumulated exploded outward.
The Heavenly Thunder Leopard immediately sensed the destructive power contained in that attack. Even after evolving into a Divine Beast, its instincts warned it that taking the blow head-on would be dangerous. It abandoned its assault on Princess Celeste and attempted to teleport away in a burst of lightning.
Too late. Princess Phoenix’s blade swept upward in what appeared to be an ordinary slash. But there was nothing ordinary about the force behind it.
The instant the blade connected, the Heavenly Thunder Leopard found itself trapped inside an inferno. The overwhelming fire energy seemed to lock its body in place, leaving it unable to control its own movements.
The combo began with an upward slash, a horizontal slash, a heavy thrust, and another upward slash. Each movement flowed seamlessly into the next, like wave after wave crashing down without giving the enemy even a moment to breathe.
Marcus could barely believe what he was seeing. In the span of a single second, Princess Phoenix had unleashed five basic attacks in rapid succession. Every strike slammed into the Heavenly Thunder Leopard, producing a continuous stream of damage.
More importantly, the attacks never gave the leopard an opening. It couldn’t move, counterattack, or teleport away; it was completely trapped beneath her assault.
Then, after the fifth strike, Princess Phoenix shouted, "Scorch the Heavens!"
She spun gracefully, her entire sword wreathed in roaring flames. Her body followed the movement of the blade as she completed the rotation and brought the sword upward in a powerful slash. The force of the attack launched the Heavenly Thunder Leopard five meters into the air.
But that was only the beginning. The Divine Beast was suspended helplessly in midair, still unable to regain control of its body. Before it could recover, a pair of fiery wings, resembling the Phoenix’s own, materialized behind Princess Phoenix.
With a powerful flap, she shot upward after her helpless prey, and the assault continued. Blow after blow rained down upon the Heavenly Thunder Leopard as Princess Phoenix pursued it through the air, each strike producing another burst of red damage numbers.
The Divine Beast could do nothing but endure. The relentless barrage continued until the leopard finally began falling back toward the ground, but the Divine Beast Phoenix was already waiting below.
"Phoenix Triple Wing!" A resonant cry split the battlefield.
The Phoenix spread its enormous, flame-wreathed wings before whipping them outward like two gigantic blades of fire.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The flaming wings struck the Heavenly Thunder Leopard again and again, each impact knocking the Divine Beast back upward. Princess Phoenix was already there waiting for it.
"Phoenix Charge Thrust!" Her sword became a blur.
One strike followed another, each attack as swift and precise as an arrow being fired from a bow. The barrage hammered into the Heavenly Thunder Leopard’s body, sending it flying backward through the air.
Even then, the attack still wasn’t over. As the leopard was hurled through the sky, the Divine Beast Phoenix launched another assault.
"Phoenix Blazing Cloud!" This was a long-range magical attack unique to the Phoenix.
Three enormous waves of crimson flames roared through the air after the Heavenly Thunder Leopard, crashing into it one after another.
The first wave struck, then the second, then the third, and as the final wave exploded against the leopard, Princess Phoenix’s voice rang out once more.
"Phoenix Dance Slash!" She swung her sword.
A massive phoenix-shaped flame erupted from the blade and surged forward. It looked like a firebird spreading its wings in flight as it shot through the air toward the Heavenly Thunder Leopard.
Then it detonated. BOOM! The flaming phoenix slammed into the Divine Beast, and a massive red damage number exploded above its head.

Marcus stared. Four hundred thousand damage from a single strike. That was the final blow of Phoenix’s Fury Chain Combo.
The Heavenly Thunder Leopard crashed heavily to the ground, its body finally breaking free from the chain of attacks and regaining control of itself.
Only then did Marcus fully understand what he had just witnessed: a combo chain, an uninterrupted sequence of attacks designed to deny the enemy any opportunity to retaliate. Each attack flowed directly into the next, continuously dealing damage while keeping the opponent trapped in a state where it could neither fight back nor escape.
And Princess Phoenix had just demonstrated exactly how terrifying such a technique could be in the hands of someone powerful enough to use it.
