MMORPG: Birth of the World's Luckiest Player

Chapter 315: Group Ganging Up

The words nearly slipped out of Tactical Drunkard’s mouth in his shock. At the last second, he reacted, slapping both hands over his mouth.

He managed to stop at "that," swallowing the rest just in time.

But holding it in physically didn’t stop him for long. The moment he recovered, he jumped straight into the mercenary group’s private chat, barely containing his excitement.

"Stone, it’s Threeleaf’s Redleaf Chapter. That dude is definitely Threeleaf FlyingCloud."

The message hit like a bomb.

Cleaver, Gloomy Arrow, and the rest immediately snapped their heads toward her, their expressions shifting all at once. The person standing before them looked nothing like what they had imagined.

’What the hell...’

For a moment, no one spoke. Then, almost in perfect unison, they turned to look at Marcus.

In an instant, Marcus, who had been standing quietly in the back and minding his own business, was dragged straight into the center of attention.

’Seriously? There’s a woman right in front of you, and you’re all staring at me?’

He didn’t even need to think about it. These idiots were trying to get him killed.

Sure enough, the shift didn’t go unnoticed.

Tactical Drunkard’s strange reaction, combined with the group suddenly focusing on one person, drew attention immediately. Threeleaf FlyingCloud and her companions followed their gaze, their eyes landing directly on Marcus.

Just like that, he was completely exposed.

"Stone, impressive. You killed Threeleaf FlyingCloud over fifty times? Respect, seriously." Invincible Strong grinned, clearly enjoying himself.

"Stone, want to try again? Think you can pull it off this time?" Tactical Drunkard added, unable to resist.

"Stone, go for it. That weapon she’s holding looks pretty nice." Cleaver’s eyes were already fixed on the blade in Threeleaf FlyingCloud’s hand. Even after just getting a golden weapon, he still looked like he wasn’t satisfied.

"Stone, imagine her reaction if she finds out who you are." Gloomy Arrow joined in, his tone calm but no less provocative.

"Good idea. Why don’t you go ask her yourself?" Cleaver followed up immediately.

"Yeah, yeah. After you quit, she was asking around about you. Sounded like she wanted revenge."

The entire group erupted, voices overlapping as they crowded around Marcus, laughing and pushing the joke further.

Marcus felt his patience thinning.

’Unbelievable’

These people had no shame at all, dragging up old history like this and throwing him straight into the fire.

"I asked you a question. Are they dead or not?" The voice cut through the noise.

One of the female warriors beside Threeleaf FlyingCloud had lost her patience. Her tone was sharp as she glared at them, clearly irritated by the lack of response, and even more so by the strange behavior coming from Marcus’s group.

No one answered.

"Stone, the lady’s asking you something..."

"Look how calm he is. He’s definitely waiting for Threeleaf FlyingCloud to ask him personally."

"Yeah. Somewhere quiet would be better. That forest over there looks perfect."

Invincible Strong and Tactical Drunkard continued, making exaggerated faces as they spoke.

’These bastards.’ Marcus didn’t hesitate any longer. He kicked Invincible Strong aside, activated his Town Portal Scroll, and vanished in a flash of light, returning instantly to Dragon’s Peak Citadel.

"Stone’s shy."

Cleaver’s deadpan comment sent the group into another round of laughter.

"What’s so funny? Are you all mute?"

The second female warrior beside Threeleaf FlyingCloud snapped as well, her anger now fully visible. Anyone could tell that the strange behavior, especially the smirking assassin and the grinning warrior, had something to do with them.

Still, no one gave her a proper answer.

With Marcus already gone, Cleaver and the others began activating their own Town Portal Scrolls one after another.

But Tactical Drunkard and Invincible Strong lingered just a moment longer. The arrogance and tone from the Threeleaf side had clearly gotten under their skin.

Tactical Drunkard stepped forward slightly, a wide grin spreading across his face as he pointed to where Marcus had been standing.

"Our boss said—" He paused just long enough to make it deliberate.

"—’Ask my ass.’"

Before the words even settled, Invincible Strong jumped in, pointing toward the two female warriors beside Threeleaf FlyingCloud.

"But hey, beautiful, if you pick a place, our boss might be willing to answer you privately. Just leave those two grannys behind."

"Bullshit!"

The two warriors exploded in anger, drawing their weapons as they charged forward.

But they were already too late.

Tactical Drunkard and Invincible Strong had activated their Town Portal Scrolls. As their bodies began to dissolve into soft light, they waved casually at Threeleaf FlyingCloud.

"Beautiful, our boss also said he really admires you." With that, the last two figures vanished.

All eight of them disappeared cleanly, right in front of the Threeleaf members’ eyes.

"Trash!"

The two female warriors stood there fuming, their weapons still raised, frustration written all over their faces. There was nothing they could do now. The opportunity had slipped through their fingers.

"If we’d attacked earlier..." One of them muttered, clearly regretting it.

"Miss, we’ll deal with those Mad Lion players sooner or later."

Both of them were still seething.

"Could it be him..." Threeleaf FlyingCloud spoke quietly, almost to herself.

Her thoughts lingered on the knight she had just seen. The one standing among them, wearing that heavy, wolf-shaped armor and a rabbit mask.

There had been rumors circulating lately, whispers about a mysterious knight who had taken the number one spot on the Experts Leaderboard. No one knew much about him. He kept a low profile, appearing rarely and leaving even less behind.

But as a knight herself, she paid close attention to others of the same class, especially those at the top.

And that figure... It felt familiar.

"Miss, why aren’t you doing anything? Did the Savage Wolves already kill it?"

HappyFish’s voice came again from the ground, tinged with confusion and growing anxiety. From her perspective, nothing made sense. She could only see the Redleaf members and had no awareness of everything that had just happened.

"HappyFish, are you sure the Savage Wolves came?"

Threeleaf FlyingCloud shifted her attention, her tone calm but focused. After everything she had just witnessed, too many things didn’t add up.

"Yeah. More than fifty of them showed up. They wiped everyone out and cleared the area."

HappyFish answered immediately, though she didn’t understand why the question was being asked.

"But there were only eight players here. No Savage Wolves."

Threeleaf FlyingCloud spoke slowly, piecing it together as she said it.

"Eight players?" HappyFish froze, shock creeping into her voice.

No Savage Wolves? Then what had actually happened here?
