Chapter 600 - 512: Dream-Come-True Moment, Trial at the Cliff’s Base
"Hey, isn’t that Mr. Wang? Why do the backs of those two men next to him look so familiar?"
John furrowed his eyebrows, staring intently in that direction, his brain racing. For a moment, he seemed to recall something and his expression changed.
"Why are they here?"
"Who?" Magna tilted his head in confusion, clearly not recognizing the two people.
"The President and Vice President of the Hunter Association. Oh, I get it now, they must be here to personally issue Lin a Hunter’s License. No wonder I suddenly received a message earlier saying I didn’t need to prepare the venue."
"Lin’s getting a Hunter’s License? Why, are you going hunting?"
"That’s right, the neighboring farm is overrun with wild game. That guy came directly to ask us to help clear it up, and since I have hunters stationed at my farm... then..."
Explaining the situation simply, Magna also seemed intrigued, but without a Hunter’s License, he was embarrassed to rely on President Wang’s influence, so he quietly noted it down to discuss later with John, hoping he could recommend the hunters from his farm.
The challenging part isn’t learning to use a gun, but finding a hunter willing to help recommend you.
John had definitely seen these two before, so since they were here, he had to go say hi. Magna shamelessly followed alongside, although he didn’t say much, at least he could get familiar with them.
...
"I’ll leave this afternoon’s matters in your hands. I’ll be back soon, probably conducting some teaching nearby in an open space."
With half an hour left before closing, Lin Chen had just replenished a batch of dishes. Seeing the number of customers visibly decrease, he figured he wasn’t needed anymore, so he took off his apron, waved to Zhao Shun and Old Chen, and planned to change and head for training.
"Don’t worry, boss, later I’ll arrange to handle retail. Even if Lucas isn’t helping, there’s still the two sisters to translate~"
"Why am I not helping?"
Lucas rolled his eyes dramatically, "Haven’t I helped you enough, buddy? Fine, fine, you heartless guy with someone, are you hitting on those sisters again?"
"Those are high-IQ, rich beauties, such a chance, you can’t handle it, stop dreaming."
"Again?"
Lin Chen was just about to leave when he sharply caught that word, pretending to be confused as he turned back.
"Boss, don’t listen to his nonsense. This guy’s been single for too long and is going nuts over gossip. Go get your work done!"
Seeing Zhao Shun’s embarrassed face, Lin Chen chuckled and nodded, turning away.
He knew very well about these guys’ little antics, as long as they weren’t too blatant, using personal charm to attract those sisters wasn’t something he bothered to control.
But, to be fair, since last week’s sweet breakfast, the curiosity from the pretty waitress group towards Zhao Shun had clearly increased. Except they couldn’t communicate, usually when they exchanged glances, there was just a smile to acknowledge each other.
And Zhao Shun’s talent with languages was indeed a bit... after hanging around for so many days, he only picked up a few basic phrases like good morning, hello, goodbye, thank you. So, he urged Lucas to start a Chinese class quickly for the girls.
With two new Great Xia waitresses arriving at the restaurant, he also approached them for Chinese lessons.
When asking for help, you inevitably have to build relationships first, like maybe giving some special treatment.
Moreover, having a good relationship with them might yield useful information, as these waitresses work together daily, surely exchanging thoughts, way better than his own inability to communicate.
The upcoming retail product making session was something he excelled at, once the exquisite desserts were out, he’d definitely increase his likability points.
Thinking about it, Lin Chen had changed into his clothes, found President Wang and two hunters beneath a beach umbrella, and headed towards the cliff.
"Let me formally introduce myself, I’m Alex."
"Joshua."
Beside them, Wang Ziqin supplemented: "President and Vice President of the local Hunter Association. We’ve heard your cooking is delicious, but the restaurant hadn’t been open to outsiders before, so we didn’t come to eat."
"Coincidentally, we’re here to certify you, thought we’d join for a meal."
Alex smiled and extended his hand: "Your cooking is very good, truly lives up to its reputation, even those of us who’ve never had Chinese cuisine found it agreeable."
"Thank you, creating delicious food is my job."
They chatted all the way down to the bottom of the cliff without realizing it.
This coastline was covered in rocks, the waves crashing against the cliff made irregular slashing sounds, while the originally fine, soft beach was scattered with small stones, making the ground feel somewhat sore to tread on.
"Let’s do it here."
Joshua looked around, confirming there were no people nearby, then placed the bag he was carrying down.
Opening it, what was displayed before Lin Chen was a classified assortment of metal parts, clearly parts of certain guns.
He held his breath, his heartbeat quickened.
Guns!
These are genuine guns!!
In all probability, a Chinese person wouldn’t touch a real gun their whole life!
"I’ll demonstrate how to assemble the firearm first. The ones I brought today are basic, all commonly used types for hunting."
"I’m not sure how familiar you are with firearms, so I’ll introduce the types. This one’s a close-range rifle, specifically for handling wild boar, deer, rabbits appearing nearby, but needs dedicated moving target practice, it’s somewhat difficult."
"This one’s a shotgun, useful for shooting rabbits living in fast-moving groups, no need for precision aiming."
"This one’s a sniper rifle, most suitable for shooting from five hundred meters away, as beasts tend to roam at night, sensitive to sound. Any rustle within two to three hundred meters might alert them, using a sniper rifle with its thermal imaging aim is the best choice."
Joshua slowed his assembly speed, introducing each component’s name and its function.
Nonetheless, within a mere thirty seconds, a rifle as long as an arm was assembled, reflecting cold gleams under the sun, accompanied by the cold wind blowing at the cliff bottom, all hairs stood on end.
"Give it a try."
The man swiftly disassembled the gun, placing the parts on the ground, gesturing Lin Chen to assemble it himself.
Beside him, Alex stood with arms crossed, a slight look of anticipation in his eyes.
People say excellent chefs have great memories, capable of retaining thousands of recipes, and their thought processes act faster than ordinary folk. He wanted to see what level this Head Chef could achieve.
