Myths Reawakened

Chapter 212 (1): If I Don’t Kick You Now, I Won’t Be Able to Sleep Tonight

Night.

Dawn Detective Agency, Commercial Street.

The mist was thin, and the stars were sparse. Two beams of light tore through the heavy darkness as a black luxury car approached, eventually stopping at the detective agency. Megan pulled over and got out of the driver’s seat, opening the door in the back. Auston emerged with his antique silver coin, looking at the quiet detective agency with an unreadable face.

“Master, there is one existence inside, but it’s not alive,” Megan said.

“It’s a creation of the Death Knight, once a Londan police officer named Beau Philip...” Auston rattled off what he had found out.

There was a lot of information on the Death Knight, but also very little. Most came from Palis, about the notorious nightmare of the Life Alliance. In Londan, the Death Knight had been remarkably subdued, keeping a low profile and having established only one base—the well-known Dawn Detective Agency.

To be more exact, there were five bases since there was one Dawn Detective Agency and its affiliated law agency in each of the five districts in Londan. That night, when the Death Knight explained his intention to the churches and the Ministry of Magic, he had stated that he came to Londan for three purposes: fairness, fairness, and fairness.

Those in attendance were puzzled, so they chose to wait and see what the knight was up to, and here they were.

The Death Knight had been keeping an unusually low profile, and he might as well not exist as long as no one bothered him. He had relayed the oracles of Death and ordered the followers to punish evil and support the good, upholding fairness and justice.

Under his orders, the followers of Death never used their extraordinary power, instead doing everything by Windsorian law. Whenever there was injustice, they took a stand, garnering an avid following and winning the praises of the general public.

Said general public was limited to the peasants, though. Those within or related to high society harbored grievances for the Dawn Detective Agency, but since they were no match for the Death Knight, they could only take a step back and bottle up their increasing rage.

Though the Death Knight had come to Londan, his influence was limited, and given that he never stuck his finger in the structure of power in the city, he didn’t make much of a difference. Therefore, those ruling over high society had quite a good impression of the Death Knight. If all churches were as understanding as he was, the world would be at peace.
