Game World: I Can Share Talents

Chapter 207 - 17: You Have a Share in My Foundation

Jing Mu and Jing Xiao took turns describing to Westheid just how magnificent a being the Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven truly was.

As for the content... Westheid could only conclude that all Realms of Order were the same. They bragged about their Divine Ancestors being supreme, implicitly and explicitly using other Celestial Gods as stepping stones to make their own look better.

It was political propaganda, of course. Mortals could readily admit their own race, systems, or strength were inferior, but they would never tolerate their own Divine Ancestor being outshone.

This belief was the very foundation of their nations; not a shred of doubt could be permitted!

Besides, the Celestial Gods never actually fought one another, so everyone was free to boast as they pleased.

However, the two Celestial Vault People weren’t speaking pure nonsense. There was some substance to their words.

"The Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven was the first Celestial God to ascend! If the Divine Ancestor hadn’t paved this path of Ascension, the Mortal World would have been utterly destroyed long ago! How could any other Celestial Gods have ever appeared?"

"Everyone! We all owe our survival to the Divine Ancestor’s grace! If Heaven had not given us the Divine Ancestor, the eons would be an endless night!"

Jing Mu slammed his fist on the coffee table, speaking with passionate fervor.

Westheid smiled and clapped. "Absolutely right. I feel the exact same way."

He wasn’t just humoring him. To a certain extent, what Jing Mu said was true.

The Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven was indeed the first Celestial God to achieve Ascension. Only after Him did the Mortal World’s history gain a clear and indisputable record.

"But before the Venerable Lord’s Ascension, there must have been civilizations in the Mortal World that existed for a long time, right? Do you know anything about them?"

Westheid asked nonchalantly.

"That... Apologies. Although we Celestial Vault People are descendants of a prior civilization, we know very little from its records. We only know that back then, the Chaos Tide had almost submerged the entire Mortal World. It was the Divine Ancestor... the Divine Ancestor who completed the Great Enterprise of reaching the heavens, which allowed the Mortal World to survive the cataclysm of extinction."

Jing Mu crossed his hands over his chest, raised his head, and praised:

"Ah... O Pure One who walks the azure heavens, what mercy, what compassion! It is only because the Divine Ancestor blessed the Mortal World with His great love that the clear sky endures!"

Westheid asked, "Reaching the heavens... What exactly does the Celestial Vault Kingdom mean when it speaks of ’reaching the heavens’?"

Jing Xiao folded her hands in her lap and said:

"’Reaching the heavens’ is sublimation, purification, and salvation. It is the aspiration of all living beings. We exist and are glorified only by carrying out the will of ’reaching the heavens’."

’Whoa, so this is the Law of the Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven?’

Westheid twirled the Mask of Fallen Heaven between his fingers, his eyelids lowered slightly.

’But the Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven... I wonder, did he ascend to heaven... or fall from it?’

And so, Westheid continued to play along, indirectly probing for the information he wanted. The conversation lasted the entire night, until Duke Qinghui could squeeze nothing more out of them.

As dawn approached, seeing that the two before him were still rambling on, Westheid finally stood up to end the conversation. "I see now. I have a complete understanding of the Venerable Lord’s deeds and greatness! Thank you both."

"No thanks are necessary. It is our duty to clear up any confusion for a Divine Favored."

The two Celestial Vault People, looking as if they still had more to say, stood up and bowed to Westheid.

"May you complete your oath and your Trial. The Divine Ancestor protects you."

After that, there was no need for them to stay any longer. Duke Qinghui saw his guests out. Jing Mu and Jing Xiao promised to handle the formalities as quickly as possible and send the technical equipment Westheid required through their trade network.

Once the Celestial Vault People had left, thoroughly satisfied, Westheid turned to Yolanda and said:

"See? I told you I could make them treat me with the utmost respect. And you didn’t believe me."

"I’d rather they respected you a little less!"

Yolanda, who had been silent the entire time, finally erupted with a frantic torrent of complaints.

"Brother, you are absurdly audacious... Posing as one of the Divine Chosen? How could you do something like that? Aren’t you afraid that such a shameless lie will draw the gaze of the Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven?"

Although the probability of drawing a Celestial God’s gaze just by speaking their revered name was low, and most of the time, they wouldn’t punish someone for mere lip service... once it involved fraud and deception, even if the Celestial God forgave it, their followers would not. All Realms of Order had tribunals for judging blasphemers, and they didn’t mess around.

Even though she was used to her brother’s constant risk-taking, Yolanda’s heart could barely take it.

"How can you assume I’m not one of the Divine Chosen? I truly think I am," Westheid said with a laugh. "In any case, now that the Celestial Vault Kingdom is sorted out, rebuilding the Qinghui Territory is no longer an issue. I’d like to replicate the Celestial Vault Kingdom’s Ideal City in the Qinghui Territory, too."

Yolanda muttered, "Speaking of which, can they be trusted? Are you sure they won’t leak this?"

"If they believe I’m a Divine Favored, then they can be trusted."

Westheid explained, "The religious fanaticism of the Celestial Vault People is second to none. Those two also seem quite young. A secret they can have all to themselves should make them secretly delighted."

"Of course, even if they report it within their Clan, it won’t be passed directly to the ears of the Celestial Vault Kings. I’ll just have to deal with the Clan’s envoys."

As for what might happen after that? He wasn’t concerned. By then, the Celestial Vault Kingdom would be thrown into utter chaos by the Temporal Chaos. Who would have the spare time to worry about the Qinghui Territory’s affairs?

Stretching, Westheid walked out of the manor. In the early morning, just as sunlight spilled over the horizon, an eye-catching figure with silver hair and white clothes stood in the courtyard.

"Reiya?"

Westheid hurried forward and, out of habit, snuggled up close to the Dragon Girl for a moment before speaking.

"Have you been waiting long?"

Reiya tilted her head and asked, "Were those the Celestial Vault People who just left? They had halos behind their heads."

"Yes, we discussed some matters. From now on, the Qinghui Territory will have trade routes with the Celestial Vault Kingdom."

Reiya nodded. "I see. That’s truly something to celebrate."

After offering her congratulations, the Silver-haired Dragon Lady’s delicate brows furrowed as she turned to serious matters.

"West, I might not be able to stay much longer."

"Many of the people under my command are advising me not to stay here any longer. I really wish I could just dismiss them all."

Hearing this, Westheid chuckled. "Even if you did that, a new batch of people would immediately flock to serve you. It’s always good to have subordinates to handle things. No matter how strong you are, you can’t do everything by yourself, right?"

The Silver-haired Princess looked at Westheid earnestly.

"I know. That’s why I will take up this duty again. Not for the Empire, nor for the Divine Ancestor, but because of you, West... You never let a single opportunity for growth pass you by. You’re so full of ambition and drive. Though I don’t share your grand ideals, I want to help you."

"I’ll be leaving soon. After that, I will continue to build up merits throughout the Imperial territories. Then, I will exchange all those merits for ownership rights to the Borderland Pioneer Territories. When that happens, the Qinghui Territory’s domain can expand toward the Empire."

’Yes, yes, yes! She’s so proactive! This is a true Apostle, one who will support my Ascension!’

Westheid was overcome with an indescribable excitement. He put his arm around the White-haired Dragon Lady’s slender shoulders and said with a serious expression:

"Reiya, rest assured. You will have a share in the foundation I build."
