She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Chapter 373 - 372: Victims Behind the Holographic Reality Show, Part 25

"Are you bringing me some food?" Ah Chen asked.

Xie Fuguang: "What do you want to eat?"

"I want to eat..."

"Don’t think of some exotic delicacies, we don’t have any! We have plenty of compressed biscuits and bread, and water," Xie Fuguang said, "I’ll also bring you a bottle of vitamins later."

Ah Chen propped up her chin: "Then why did you ask me what I want to eat?"

Xie Fuguang: "If you’re tired, you should rest."

"Don’t you want to meet me?" Ah Chen asked, "I want to thank you in person."

Unexpectedly, Xie Fuguang asked, "Do you know me? Which faction are you from?"

"I shouldn’t know you," Ah Chen replied.

But Xie Fuguang said, "If you know me and want what I have, I can give it to you; I can even give you the process of making the serum. But, this is the last batch of serum I can make, the last generation, and I can’t produce more. I don’t even know if it will work. Even if it doesn’t, others might improve it and have a chance, right?"

"But I have one condition. You saw those zombies in the living room, right? If you want the serum, you must protect them. If this serum works, they should be able to recover. Even if it doesn’t work now, you can’t use them for experiments. You must wait until the serum is successful to use it on them."

Many people have been here, but Xie Fuguang has never trusted them.

When he saw her, he subconsciously felt she was trustworthy; if he entrusted those zombies in the living room to her, she definitely wouldn’t abandon or destroy them.

She didn’t directly destroy the zombies outside just now; she only tied them up, which was a point of trust, more of an inner intuition.

Ah Chen was surprised. It felt like he was giving his last instructions.

Did he have a problem?

His voice sounded full of energy, not like someone about to die.

Thinking of the serum he mentioned, Ah Chen guessed a possibility — could it be that crazy? It’s not impossible.

Just then, there was a commotion at the door.

Xie Fuguang’s voice rang out, "Open the door."

Ah Chen opened the door, and a robot appeared. In its hands was a tray with the items Xie Fuguang mentioned: compressed biscuits, bread, water, vitamins, and some toiletries.

She took the items, and the robot, human-like, reminded her, "Please close the door properly." After saying that, it turned and left.

After closing the door, she placed the items aside.

"I’m not with any of their factions," Ah Chen finally said, "Haven’t you noticed, things outside are a bit different?"

Xie Fuguang had noticed, but her appearance had captured his attention, so he hadn’t had time to observe the outside situation.

The familiar buildings were still there, and so were the flowers and plants, even if there were many new buildings and plants he hadn’t seen before. Something was off, very off.

Ah Chen guessed he should be observing the outside. It looked unusual here; the other side seemed to possess advanced technology, making it easy to observe the outside.

She remained silent, opened the compressed biscuits, and tasted one. Food didn’t really differ much for her, though she would savor it when in a good mood.

Suddenly, she thought of Wen Chulin. She wondered how he was doing. She picked up her phone to check the network, which was still functional, and sent a message to Wen Chulin: Junior Wen, where are you?

Wen Chulin was driving back to the Wen Family Villa. The previous place was prepared for Bei Chen, housing many things related to Bei Chen, and sometimes he stayed there. He initially planned to confine Bei Chen there, never expecting such a change.

Seeing more and more unfamiliar buildings around, immense panic gripped him. His hands trembled on the steering wheel. This was a Virtual World, absolutely not real, and the program hadn’t ended.

After a while, everything would be fine. They would get out eventually.

He comforted himself this way, managing to calm down a bit.

More and more people discovered anomalies, saw unfamiliar buildings, and encountered zombies and mutated creatures, causing chaos. Those who had seen that program quickly calmed down after the initial panic, following the initial program’s guidelines to stay temporarily safe.

Those who had prepared in advance hurried back home if close, closed doors and windows, and stayed alert to the outside. Those far from home sought nearby shelter.

The authorities reacted immediately, broadcasting the fusion of two worlds wherever there were large screens on the streets.

The panicked crowds gradually organized upon hearing the guidance.

But Wen Chulin was uneasy; the reactions and scenes around him were clearer than in the previous two Virtual Worlds; every detail was so real.

Just then, his phone rang.

A message from Ah Chen popped up on the screen. He didn’t read the content, just saw it was from Bei Chen.

In that moment, Wen Chulin stiffened with fear.

He extended his hand to open it, saw the message, then immediately deleted it, blocked Ah Chen, and deleted her. Feeling it wasn’t enough, he erased everything about her, as though this would bring relief.

He closed his eyes and restarted the car, heading toward the Wen Family Villa.

This must be the Virtual World; it must be.

The phone rang again; it was Wen Chumo calling, asking where he was. He said he was heading home.

Wen Chumo told him, "Don’t come home. We just got a call; there are many mutated creatures there."

Wen Chulin took a deep breath, "Then should I go to the company?"

"Don’t come here either," Wen Chumo said, looking down from the upper floor where a factory area had appeared, "a pig farm has emerged, and all the pigs have mutated and escaped, attacking the company building. You probably can’t get in."

Watching pigs climbing walls below, their hooves digging deep into the walls, crawling continually towards the top, Wen Chumo broke into a cold sweat.

This scene was only seen in movies.

"Find a safe place to shelter. The authorities should have some preparations. For now, don’t think about anything else, just stay alive."

In the office, his computer was replaying the program related to the second Virtual World and post-apocalyptic knowledge. He came for some items today, but he couldn’t leave after entering.

Wen Chulin gripped the phone tight. Could he not return? Although he had many properties, none were near, and who knew if those places had the same issues?

Watching the increasingly unfamiliar streets, he realized he couldn’t wander the streets aimlessly anymore.

Before hanging up, he asked, "Bro, this should still be the Virtual World, right?"

"I hope so too," Wen Chumo’s voice came through, but as he looked outside, he felt this was real, not just a Virtual World.

Even if some held such hopes, they didn’t dare to gamble. If they ignored it and died here, it would mean true death.

"Stay alive," Wen Chumo advised.

Wen Chulin’s heart was heavy when suddenly the phone rang — it was from Bei Chen; hadn’t he blocked her?

Bei Chen: Junior, why did you block me?

Was she a psychopath? Wen Chulin thought with a grim face; at a time like this, what was the point of sending such messages?
