Chapter 11 – Constitution Breakthrough
The disciples present all chimed in to persuade, looking as if they were all doing it for Lu Youyou's own good.
However, in reality, everyone had the same thought: one less person eating meant more food for them.
All the disciples who came to the kitchen were, to put it bluntly, competitors.
But Lu Youyou completely ignored this. Important matters? What could be more important than eating? Especially since today was Junior Brother Changqing's new dish, the aroma of the stir-fried pork was making Lu Youyou drool even now.
So, even if the sky were to fall, she had to eat this meal first.
"Sister, I'll go back after I finish eating."
Without any hesitation, she looked at Liu Shuang and said. Hearing this, Liu Shuang was speechless. This Junior Sister used to be so obedient, and now she dared to defy even the master's orders?
Just for a bite of food, was the meal really that delicious?
Suspiciously, she looked at Ye Changqing and the large bowl of stir-fried pork. The aroma was indeed enticing.
"Fine, in that case, I'll eat with you and go back together."
Her fingers twitched with desire, but Liu Shuang was too embarrassed to show it, so she pretended to speak calmly.
Upon hearing this, the others remained silent, and Lu Youyou replied.
"Sure, but Sister, you have to queue."
"What?"
Hearing that she had to queue, Liu Shuang was stunned. A direct disciple like herself had to queue to eat in the kitchen?
She looked incredulously at Lu Youyou, who calmly explained.
"Yes, that's the rule of the kitchen. Regardless of status, everyone has to queue."
Hearing this, Liu Shuang looked at the others present, and although they didn't dare to speak, they nodded in agreement. Yes, everyone had to queue for food.
Seeing this, Liu Shuang started to doubt her life choices.
"Sister, if you don't hurry, there won't be any food left."
"You..."
Prompted by Lu Youyou, Liu Shuang finally obediently went outside the courtyard and queued at the end of the line.
As mealtime arrived, Lu Youyou was the first to get her food, scooping a large spoonful of stir-fried pork over her rice, and began eating with great enthusiasm.
Ye Changqing sat at the kitchen door, not needing to serve himself, as everyone helped themselves.
Each disciple carried a large bowl of rice, even the female disciples, who piled it higher than the male disciples.
Faced with this scene, Liu Shuang was dumbfounded. Was life for the menial disciples really this tough?
Although the Dao Yi Sect didn't pay much attention to menial disciples, they didn't skimp on food.
There might be fewer cultivation resources, but filling their stomachs shouldn't be a problem.
Why did these people look like they were starving?
No doubt, if the bowls were bigger, they would have taken more.
Finally, it was her turn. Liu Shuang followed suit, serving herself a bowl of rice and a spoonful of stir-fried pork.
Compared to the others, Liu Shuang's portion looked quite normal. Although the aroma was tempting, she only took a small half-bowl.
It didn't look like much.
Sitting beside Lu Youyou, who was eating with oil dripping from her mouth, Lu Youyou noticed Second Senior Sister's small portion and asked in confusion.
"Second Senior Sister, is that all you're eating?"
"I've been fasting. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be eating today."
Liu Shuang replied indifferently, while Lu Youyou gave her a knowing look.
"Sister, trust me, you'll regret it soon."
Regret? As the Second Senior Sister of Divine Sword Peak, regret over a meal?
Unconvinced, she took a bite. The rice mixed with meat slices and juice was overwhelmingly delicious.
Just one bite, and Liu Shuang was stunned.
Delicious, incredibly delicious, as if her soul had been elevated.
Next, Liu Shuang transformed into a voracious eater, devouring her food even faster than Lu Youyou.
The small portion of rice was gone in a few bites.
Seeing this, Lu Youyou laughed. She had said Second Senior Sister would regret it, and now she knew.
Taking quick strides to the large table outside the kitchen, she found that the food was already gone.
"Gone?"
Looking at the empty food container, Liu Shuang asked with wide eyes.
"Gone."
Ye Changqing nodded. These people could really eat, each consuming at least two portions.
Liu Shuang, on the other hand, seemed to have a normal appetite.
But Ye Changqing didn't know that Liu Shuang was now filled with regret, finally understanding what Lu Youyou meant by saying she would regret it.
It can be hard to make great work when its stolen from "p𝑎wread.com".
Damn, were they pigs? Such a large container of rice, gone just like that?
Looking pitifully at Ye Changqing, she had lost her previous aloof demeanor, but Ye Changqing was helpless.
"Sister, don't look at me like that. Even if I wanted to cook now, it's too late. Come early in the evening."
Disappointed, she returned to Lu Youyou's side, who had finished eating and smiled at Liu Shuang.
"How about it, Sister? I wasn't lying, was I?"
"You still say that, why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"I did tell you, Sister."
"You..."
Liu Shuang was frustrated, but Lu Youyou's constant reassurance slowly calmed her down.
After washing dishes and tidying up, the two agreed to return in the afternoon and left the kitchen.
The disciples left, and so did Lu Youyou, leaving Ye Changqing alone in the courtyard.
The system's prompt sounded.
[Host received a praise, talent +1, cultivation level +1]
[Host received a praise, constitution +1, cultivation level +1]
[Host received a praise, physique +1, cultivation level +1]
"Open the panel."
[Host: Ye Changqing.]
[Identity: Dao Yi Sect Menial Disciple.]
[Cultivation Level: Minor Body Refinement Achievement (146/200)]
[Prestige: Unknown.]
[Talent: Lower Grade Upper Tier (36/100)]
[Constitution: Middle Grade Lower Tier (2/1000)]
[Comprehension: Upper Grade Middle Tier (69/100000)]
His constitution directly broke through to middle grade, and Ye Changqing felt a warmth in his body, an indescribable change occurring within.
The improvement in grade was a fundamental change. Although middle-grade constitution wasn't much in Dao Yi Sect, it was considered decent in other sects.
Feeling the changes brought by the breakthrough, Ye Changqing muttered to himself.
"Time to cultivate."
Half an hour of harsh training was much more efficient than before. If his talent could also reach middle grade, it would be even faster, but that was only a matter of time.
"Alright, not bad, now it's nap time."
Cultivation requires a balance of work and rest, something Ye Changqing understood well. After half an hour of harsh training, he needed a good rest, or it would harm his foundation, which would be counterproductive.
Meanwhile, Lu Youyou and Liu Shuang returned to the mountain summit to meet their master, Wine Sword Hongzun.
