Chapter 53 – Play a trick on you
Qingshi and Hongzun made their way back to the mountain summit. As soon as they arrived, little Wang Yao rushed up to greet them.
"Master, Senior Hong."
"Yes, disciple, from now on, you are also a disciple of the Dao Yi Sect."
Seeing little Wang Yao, Qingshi nodded with a smile, while Hongzun snorted unhappily.
Damn it, bringing along family, this old man. If I'd known, I would have stopped him outside the mountain.
Still full of resentment, little Wang Yao looked puzzled, but Qingshi didn't mind at all.
"What does Master mean?"
"Your master is now the Elder of the Divine Sword Peak. Since you are my disciple, you naturally belong to the Divine Sword Peak as well."
Qingshi explained the situation briefly. Hearing this, little Wang Yao blinked her big, adorable eyes, looking at her master with suspicion.
She knew her master well, having been a solitary figure all his life. It was only in recent years that he took her as a disciple for companionship. Why suddenly join a sect?
Little Wang Yao had no objections to joining the Dao Yi Sect. As the leading righteous sect of the Eastern Continent, countless people wished to join, but few had the opportunity.
Besides, wherever her master was, she would be there too.
"By the way, my disciple should have no problem becoming a direct disciple, right?"
Suddenly remembering something, Qingshi turned to ask Hongzun, who was still sulking. Hearing this, Hongzun replied irritably.
"Make your own decision, why ask me?"
Qingshi was already the Elder of the Divine Sword Peak, second only to Hongzun in status, a decision made during their journey.
As for little Wang Yao, her special physique, talent, and constitution were in no way inferior to Liu Shuang and Lu Youyou. Being a direct disciple was more than fitting.
Seeing Hongzun unwilling to engage, Qingshi chuckled.
"Then I'll decide myself."
"Whatever, just hurry up. Finish quickly so we can head to the main peak and not miss meal time."
They still needed to visit the main peak. Hearing the words about not missing meal time, Qingshi quickly got up.
"Right, right, let's go to the main peak first. We can discuss other matters later."
With that, the two of them flew towards the main peak, leaving Wang Yao standing there in a daze.
At the main peak, besides Sect Master Qi Xiong, all the peak masters and major elders within the sect had gathered to welcome Qingshi.
Moreover, Qi Xiong planned to invite various immortal sects from the Eastern Continent to host a grand event, both to celebrate Qingshi's arrival and to showcase the strength of the Dao Yi Sect.
After all, having someone like Qingshi join was a significant event for any sect, deserving of a grand celebration.
Qingshi had little interest in such matters and wanted to refuse, but in the end, he couldn't resist Qi Xiong's persuasion and reluctantly agreed.
However, preparations would take time, and the event wouldn't be held for several months.
Internally, Qingshi's position was set as the Elder of the Divine Sword Peak.
He should have been given a main elder position, but Qingshi insisted on staying at the Divine Sword Peak.
His only request was for his disciple to be a direct disciple of the Divine Sword Peak, which no one opposed.
In fact, with the testimony of Hongzun and several other peak masters and main elders, even the talent test was waived.
After some lively greetings, Qingshi was happily chatting with Qi Xiong, while Hongzun noticed the time and realized it was almost meal time.
Casting a disdainful glance at Qingshi, he silently cursed.
"Fool, forgot the time while chatting?"
Ignoring everything else, he stood up and addressed everyone.
"There are matters to attend to at the Divine Sword Peak, so I'll take my leave. You all keep Qingshi company and let him feel the warmth of our Dao Yi Sect."
This was clearly an attempt to leave Qingshi behind, ensuring he missed lunch.
Hearing this, the others didn't catch on to Hongzun's intentions and nodded in agreement.
"Of course, with Qingshi joining our Dao Yi Sect, we must treat him well."
"Indeed, I have some enlightenment tea. Qingshi, why not come to my place for a cup?"

"I also have some heavenly fragrance fruits, perfect to accompany it."
Everyone offered their treasured items to entertain Qingshi, but Qingshi's gaze was fixed on Hongzun.
Seeing that old man with a smug smile, Qingshi gritted his teeth. Did he think he could shake him off that easily?
Ignoring Qingshi, Hongzun turned and left decisively.
Contentedly returning to the Divine Sword Peak, he hadn't gone far when Qingshi caught up.
"Going to eat without inviting me?"
Qingshi grinned triumphantly at Hongzun.
"How did you get out?"
"Just walked out."
Failing to leave Qingshi behind, Hongzun was quite dissatisfied. He had finally found a chance to mess with that old man, but Qi Xiong and the others were no help at all. Couldn't they just tie him up?
Hongzun was filled with resentment, glaring at Qingshi, who waved with a smile.
"I'm off first."
With that, Qingshi turned into a streak of light, heading towards the Divine Sword Peak, and Hongzun hurriedly followed.
"Damn, old man, you have no sense of honor."
The two of them, one in front and one behind, quickly arrived at the Divine Sword Peak's kitchen, just as many disciples were gathering, ready for a feast.
Qingshi didn't need to participate in such battles. With his strength, no one at the Divine Sword Peak, except Hongzun, was his match, including the elders.
So no one dared to challenge him.
Satisfied, he began eating, holding a large bowl and devouring his meal with unmatched gusto.
His once immortal-like beard was now stained with food, completely losing any semblance of a powerful figure.
"I say, old man, can't you eat with a bit more grace?"
Seeing Qingshi wolfing down his food, Hongzun grumbled. Hearing this, Qingshi turned his head and gave him a similarly disdainful look.
"Are you any better?"
In fact, Hongzun wasn't much better, with rice grains even on his collar.
The two old men, despite their age, ate faster than the young disciples, who couldn't keep up with these two old fellows.
They were still the first to finish, but this time, Qingshi had a competitor, as they almost simultaneously put down their bowls and chopsticks.
Watching the disciples still enjoying their meal, Hongzun grumbled.
"Look at you all, eating so slowly. What else can you do in the future?"
The disciples, bewildered by the sudden scolding, were left scratching their heads. What was wrong with the peak master?
They didn't know that Hongzun was just venting his frustration on them.
Sure enough, feeling much better after the outburst, he left in high spirits, with Qingshi smiling and following closely behind.
