Chapter 104: Obliterated
Her eyes gleamed.
"I understand."
She lifted her head again.
"So when do I go?"
"When do I go?" Valra asked.
Morvex leaned back.
"Prepare yourself."
His voice was calm, but ruthless.
"Don’t think you’ll be resting."
"I don’t know how long it will take."
"You can’t afford to waste time."
Then he waved his hand.
"Leave for the human realm."
"Go."
Valra smiled wider.
"Yes, Lord Morvex."
She turned slowly.
"Then I’ll bring you his head."
Morvex’s gaze darkened.
"Good."
Then he raised his hand again.
"Now all of you..."
"Leave."
Meanwhile, Rowan was back in his class, sitting as if nothing had happened.
Outside, chaos erupted.
"What the hell?! Did you see that?!"
"Everyone, get into your classes!" one of the teachers shouted.
"No student is allowed to come out!"
"Just get inside!"
"Damn it..."
Velqira’s face was tense as she looked around.
"Well... I don’t know," she muttered.
Rowan glanced at her calmly.
"I was really frightened," Rowan said.
Then Rowan turned his head and looked at Neville.
"What do you think happened?"
Neville shook his head.
"I don’t know."
"But some guards were just sent out."
Rowan’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Neville continued.
"They said the forest beside our school..."
"The one that’s considered one of the biggest forests in the capital..."
His voice dropped.
"...is completely ruined."
Rowan blinked.
Neville swallowed.
"It’s said that not a single tree is left standing."
"Not even monsters."
"Everything..."
"It’s like it was obliterated."
Rowan’s expression stayed calm, but his eyes sharpened.
Neville added,
"And now they’re checking for traces of dark aura."
Rowan exhaled softly.
"I hope everything is fine," Rowan said.
Inside the classroom, the atmosphere was strange.
Everyone was quiet.
Some students were drinking water like their lives depended on it.
Others were still trembling.
What happened earlier felt unreal.
The pressure that had forced them onto the ground...
The terror that had frozen their hearts...
It was something they had never imagined experiencing.
Some of the students were still shaking.
Their faces were pale.
Because earlier, when they saw those two massive constructs shaped like dragons...
They truly believed they were real dragons.
It looked like the world was ending.
And even now...
Many of them couldn’t stop being paranoid.
Meanwhile, in the forest, Sword God Tichaka, Kyle, and several other teachers stood in stunned silence.
The devastation before them was impossible to put into words.
The forest—spanning nearly 32,000 feet—was gone.
In the very center yawned a massive, gaping hole.
Three hundred meters deep.
It looked as if the earth itself had been carved open, a perfect, terrible doorway to nowhere.
Every tree, every monster that had once thrived here... obliterated.
Not a single bone remained.
The land was silent. Empty. Dead.
Kyle’s eyes swept across the scorched terrain.
The ground still radiated heat, shimmering under the unnatural devastation.
Then he saw him.
Michael.
Lying on the ground. Motionless.
His body marked with dried blood. His armor shattered beyond recognition.
He wasn’t wearing a single piece of his uniform.
He had been utterly defeated.
"It’s him..." Kyle whispered, his voice sharp with shock.
"That’s him... that’s him there!"
Without hesitation, Kyle rushed forward.
He bent down, lifting Michael into his arms.
"He’s still breathing," Kyle said, relief and urgency mixing in his tone.
"You’re coming with me. We’re taking you back. We’ll check everything... anything that might be wrong."
The teachers followed silently, the weight of the destruction pressing down on them.
The forest was dead, the air heavy with the aftermath of unimaginable power.
And Michael... who had survived it all... was their only hope of understanding what had just happened.
Kyle ran.
Running.
Through the forest, his legs pumping, heart pounding, sweat dripping down his face.
On his shoulder, Michael lay unconscious, blood dried on his body, his armor shattered and ruined from the battle.
Kyle didn’t slow down. Not for a second.
The forest blurred around him—charred trees, scorched earth, and the remnants of monsters long dead.
He ran for what felt like twenty minutes, every muscle screaming, until finally... the academy came into view.
At the gates, staff members waiting outside froze for a moment, eyes widening in shock.
"Did you... find him?" one shouted, voice trembling.
"Yes! Open the gates, now!" Kyle barked, urgency cutting through the chaos.
The massive gates swung wide just as Kyle reached them, carrying Michael effortlessly despite the exhaustion.
Some of the teachers exchanged stunned glances, their tension breaking into faint, relieved smiles.
"Is he... still alive?" one whispered.
"Focus. Bring him inside," another snapped.
They rushed him into a small treatment room.
A healer stepped forward immediately, calm and precise.
Her hand rose. A soft glow radiated from her palm.
Michael’s injuries, the blood, the fatigue—all began to mend as her energy flowed into him.
Kyle finally set him down carefully, keeping his eyes alert. The forest, the battle, the chaos—they were still fresh in his mind.
Dust clung to Michael’s body.
Scratches and burns marked his skin.
Three healers worked tirelessly, pouring their energy into him.
One after another, their hands glowed as they sealed wounds, restored vitality, and cleansed the grime of battle from his body.
A final healer approached, gently pressing a soft afterglow to his lips.
Michael’s head sank back onto the bed.
"His body... it’s stable," one healer murmured. "No serious injuries. He’ll be fine."
"But..." another said, voice uncertain. "We don’t understand what just happened. Nothing. Not a single thing. When he wakes... he might explain."
Kyle nodded.
"Yes... we’ll wait," he said quietly.
Cherry, standing nearby, echoed, "Yes... I’ll wait too."
The two of them watched over Michael.
Hours passed.
Two.
And then—
Michael’s eyelids trembled.
A faint blink.
His eyes shook beneath the lids.
Kyle and Cherry leaned in.
Slowly, Michael sat up.
"I’ve... been defeated," he muttered, voice hoarse.
Kyle moved closer. "Calm down. Take it slow. Where... are you? What happened?"
Michael’s eyes fluttered open fully. He scanned the room. "I’m... back at the school already?"
