Chapter 381 - 235: Not All Lives Are Equal—A Cheat-Enabled Existence
The morning sunlight fell, accompanied by the arrival of a new day, marking the third day Thor and the others had entered this Exotic World. Unlike usual, early in the morning, Thor didn’t have Marshall and Reine go exploring; instead, he led everyone directly toward the great river.
Since discovering the enormous impact of the Griffin River Demon, he had no intention of letting it pass.
With a distance of ten miles, given that everyone was at least an Official Knight, it took merely an hour before they heard the sound of the rushing river.
Moments later, after passing through a patch of forest, everyone finally observed the incomparably broad great river in the distance.
As far as the eye could see, this river was indeed much larger than the Maine River; even during the Maine River’s flood season, it might not be half as wide. The entire river’s water current was extremely swift, and just one glance was enough for Thor to understand why Reine had said that once the Griffin River Demon entered the current, it was nearly impossible to catch.
Such a vast river and such rapid water flow—let alone Reine being just an Earth Knight—even a Sky Knight would likely struggle.
"Sir!"
Reine cautiously spoke, his vision locked onto the presences on the nearby beach.
The unmistakable figure was indeed a group of Griffin River Demons.
There were approximately seventeen or eighteen of them currently pecking at food on the beach.
Further out, amidst the river’s turbulent flow, shadows of Griffin River Demons could also faintly be seen.
Judging by the amount, there were probably over twenty-three of them.
Even Thor couldn’t help but feel a bit excited as his gaze gathered.
As for the others, a gleam appeared in their eyes as they looked at the Griffin River Demons.
"Young Master Thor, it might be difficult to capture them all; the river is simply too close."
Marshall spoke solemnly, his brows furrowing.
Such a vast river, such fierce water flow—if anything went amiss, these Griffin River Demons could instantly plunge into the river.
Capturing one or two might not be too difficult, but capturing them all would be nearly impossible.
Marshall frowned while Reine’s expression carried a thoughtful look.
Having attempted capturing them yesterday, he knew all too well the difficulty involved.
Yesterday’s surprise allowed a few captures, but if he tried again today, he doubted he could catch even one.
While both were deep in thought, Thor spoke up.
"Let the river side be my responsibility!"
"Uncle Marshall, Reine, when I descend in a moment, take action immediately, and capture as many as you can."
His voice was firm, and at that moment, Reine and Marshall couldn’t help but look at Thor.
"Sir!"
Reine instinctively spoke up.
But Thor waved his hand in refusal.
"Just follow my instructions."
Thor spoke lowly, and facing Thor’s repeated words, Reine and Marshall exchanged a glance, but ultimately, they quickly nodded in agreement.
With their agreement secured, Thor looked over at Anna.
"Anna, can you let me fly briefly over the river?"
Thor softly asked, carrying a touch of inquiry.
"I think I can, but it won’t last long; I’ve only just advanced to a Tier Three Mage."
Anna slightly furrowed her brow, thought for a moment, and then nodded.
"Alright."
"In a moment, you’ll bring me to hover over the river, and once we descend, use the Tier Three Magic Blizzard. I’ll coordinate with you, unleashing our full power."
Thor nodded and then softly spoke, making arrangements.
Since those Griffin River Demons hoped to enter the water, and once in, they couldn’t be caught, he wouldn’t give them the chance.
While freezing the entire river was extremely challenging,
he didn’t need to freeze the entire river, or even a small segment, nor did he expect it to be long-lasting; a mere moment was enough.
At that moment, the Griffin River Demons would be unable to escape, and facing Thor, Anna, Reine, and Marshall, capturing most wouldn’t be too tough.
And that would be sufficient.
"Wind of Clarity and Spirit, the force that initiates the end of all things, illuminating the stars in the night sky, guide my path to the distant land. As the ruler of the night, with the decree of the elves of the atmosphere, Wind, take me on a journey!"
Soft murmurs arose, and strands of wind element gathered atop the magic wand. In the next instant, wind elements began intertwining around Thor and Anna, their bodies ascending ever higher, eventually flying before everyone’s eyes.
Soon, Thor’s figure soared in the sky.
Then, the pair in mid-air headed toward the center of the great river.
With wind elements intertwining and unfamiliar presences appearing in the high sky, the Griffin River Demons exhibited some commotion; several even plunged back into the river.
Other Griffin River Demons also poised themselves to dive in.
If anything unexpected occurred, the remaining Griffin River Demons would dive into the river immediately.
Yet, no surprises occurred as Thor and Anna flew over the heads of those Griffin River Demons and drifted toward the heart of the river.
This sight caused the originally highly vigilant Griffin River Demons to show confusion in their eyes, but soon, the river surged, and the Griffin River Demons once again came ashore, resuming their pecking.
