I Started My Redemption by Raising Believers in the Wasteland

Chapter 41 : Divine Art — Hand of Healing, The Daniels Family’s Joining

Chapter 41: Divine Art — Hand of Healing, The Daniels Family’s Joining

Colin stepped forward and examined it carefully.

Though the edges were rough, splinters jutting out everywhere—

The cross’s structure was solid, and its proportions were not bad.

Satisfied, he nodded. “Very good, Ulf. That will do.”

“Form outweighs material. Our devout faith is what truly matters.”

“All right, everyone, take a few steps back.”

“I shall now perform the Divine Art — 【Hand of Healing】!”

A faint, confident smile appeared on Colin’s face.

Under the nervous gazes of all present—

Ulf steadily planted the cross into the open ground before the church’s gate.

Then Colin stepped up to the cross.

His expression grew solemn and sacred beyond compare.

He crossed his hands upon his chest and closed his eyes.

With an ancient, melodious, and powerful tone,

He began to chant a prayer.

The language was not the common tongue of the continent; its syllables were peculiar, filled with a holy resonance—

As though he were directly communicating with some great existence above the heavens.

As Colin chanted—

Pure golden Holy Light surged forth from within him.

Like a flowing stream, it poured endlessly into the simple wooden cross.

A miracle took place!

The rough wooden texture was melted and reforged by the Holy Light.

The dull surface of the oak quickly became covered with a gentle, metallic sheen like polished jade.

Intricate and sacred Latin inscriptions surfaced and flowed across the metallic surface.

At the top of the cross, the structure stretched and transformed—

Eventually condensing into four elegant golden petal-like shapes!

They glimmered brilliantly,

Emitting a boundless, comforting sanctity that filled the air!

“The Almighty Father above…”

Daniels murmured in awe.

He had traveled far and wide for most of his life, having seen countless rare treasures,

Yet he had never witnessed a creation so pure and divine!

Then, something even more miraculous occurred.

The radiant metal cross trembled slightly.

Golden waves of purifying power rippled silently outward from it!

The soft waves swept across the gathered crowd.

“Huh? My old rheumatic leg… it doesn’t hurt anymore?”

An old craftsman moved his knees in astonishment.

“My heavens! The frostbite on my hands… it’s healing!”

A woman stared at her once-swollen hands in disbelief.

The wondrous light waves—

Also enveloped the entire Daniels family of three.

“Ugh—ah!”

Daniels groaned heavily.

He suddenly felt a violent, twisting pain in his chest—

As if something inside him was writhing and struggling madly!

He opened his mouth uncontrollably—

Pfft!

A nail-sized, pitch-black beetle-like parasite,

Mixed with a mouthful of dark red blood, was violently coughed out onto the ground!

Almost at the same moment—

Martha and little Amy also doubled over, retching!

The parasite Martha expelled was smaller,

While Amy’s looked far more hideous—its mandibles still twitching faintly!

The three parasites, reeking of decay, fell to the ground.

The instant they touched the omnipresent ripples of light, they emitted sharp screeches!

They writhed madly, smoke hissing from their carapaces.

In just a few breaths—

The three parasites stiffened, charred, and crumbled into three foul-smelling heaps of black ash.

“Cough… cough, cough…”

Little Amy coughed violently.

Yet her pale, waxy face quickly regained a faint rosy glow visible to the naked eye.

Her weak, almost imperceptible breathing gradually steadied and strengthened.

Her long eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly opened her eyes.

Though still frail, a trace of vitality returned to her gaze.

“Mom… Dad… I’m so thirsty…”

“Amy! My little Amy!” Martha cried tears of joy,

Clutching her daughter tightly as tears streamed down her face.

Daniels pressed his hand to his chest—

The searing pain there was gone.

In its place came a long-lost, powerful sense of ease and vigor!

The exhaustion and heaviness that had weighed on him for days were completely swept away.

It felt as if he had cast off a thousand-pound burden.

He tried to summon his battle aura—

That familiar strength once again coursed through his limbs!

“My strength… it’s back!”

Daniels roared in exhilaration,

Pulling his wife and daughter into his arms.

The iron-willed man’s eyes turned red as his voice choked, “Thank heavens, you’re both all right… truly all right…”

He released them and turned toward Colin,

Pulling Martha along as he prepared to kneel solemnly on one knee.

“Priest Colin! The Daniels family shall never forget your boundless grace!”

Colin stepped forward to lift them before they could kneel,

His face calm and humble with a gentle smile. “Mr. Daniels, Mrs. Martha, please rise.”

“The one you should truly thank is the Angel who guards this land.”

“It was His power that granted me strength—it was His Holy Light that dispelled the evil and healed you.”

“I, Colin Gilbert, am but His humble servant, the messenger of His will, a mere vessel to convey His radiance.”

Colin gazed devoutly toward the church.

The cross shimmered with eternal golden brilliance.

“All glory belongs to the Sanctuary!”

“All miracles are born of faith!”

Following his gaze, Daniels looked toward the church, his heart filled with unwavering conviction.

He drew in a deep breath,

Then, holding the hands of his wife and the newly awakened, still-dazed little Amy,

He bowed deeply toward the church.

“Praise be to You, Almighty Angel!”

“Your humble servant Daniels, with his wife Martha and daughter Amy, swears here and now—”

“To dedicate the rest of our lives to serving the Holy Light and guarding the Sanctuary!”

“This heart and body shall forever be the shield of Holy Light Town!”

After this experience—

Daniels became a wholehearted believer in the Angel, firmly choosing to settle in Holy Light Town.

As for his home of ten years—Lemon Port?

It was a place tainted by the undead plague, a land of lurking death. Returning there would mean certain doom!

Only this forest bathed in the Angel’s Holy Light—

This small town, built upon ruins and hope, was their true home!

Behind them, Reed watched the scene with mixed feelings.

He had originally come to invite the old captain to take charge of business between the Gray Wolf Mercenary Corps and Holy Light Town.

Yet, by a twist of fate—

The old captain’s family had directly become residents of the town!

But that was fine, too…

Looking at Brother Daniels’ face, glowing with vigor unseen for years, Reed smiled in relief.

Now, the Gray Wolf Mercenary Corps and Holy Light Town were truly bound together.

Especially with Brother Daniels—a Third-tier Earth Knight—settling here, coupled with his loyalty to Holy Light Town…

Heh, who would dare covet the Holy Water trade now?

Though the process had been full of twists—

The result, for Reed, was undoubtedly a happy one.

And for Lynn, too, this had been a fruitful sermon.

“With all that happened today…”

“Even the mercenaries still hesitating nearby will likely bring their families and rush into the embrace of my so-called Angel.”

“Though it seems I’ll need to think of a way to resolve the plague in Lemon Port.”

It was not only a matter concerning countless lives—

It was also a crucial opportunity for Lynn to gain a vast number of new believers!

“It seems the final destination of Colin’s journey must be set in Lemon Port.”
