Chapter 245: Space vs Time 1

Both combatants opened their mouths at the same time and said; "I forfeit!"

"....What?!" Everyone was taken aback for a moment, before reaction followed.

"They both forfeited at the same time?"

"I have a feeling they planned it."

"What got into Fabian?" Alistair, Anastasia, Rose, Delilah and Aric wondered.

"Tsk, he must be sick in the head." Calum clicked his tongue. There was no way the Fabian he knew would ever forfeit willingly.

"That I can agree with." Sasha who was beside him nodded.

But if there was someone who reacted the most it was a certain imposter.

"What the hell?!" Damon exclaimed standing off his chair, and drawing the attention of almost every single individual of the platform.

There was one reason for his outburst, and it was the fact that Fabian never forfeited in the original novel. What had made him forfeit, Damon didn’t know, but he sure felt annoyed by it.

Another reason was that Damon was hoping to fight Fabian, maybe humble the boy a little, he had never fought Fabian before after all.

’Did he get enamored with Vivian?’ Damon thought, but quickly shook his head. Admittedly, Fabian was somewhat of a simp considering he had been simping for Delilah since he was a child, but he wasn’t one to outright fall in love at first battle.

"WHAT A MATCH, I SAY, WHAT A MATCH!! AND WHAT IS THIS I’M HEARING, A DUAL FORFEIT!! I THINK THIS IS THE FIRST RIME SUCH HAS EVER HAPPENED IN THE HISTORY OF THE CONVERGENCE OF RACES!!" The commentator said, his tone surprised.

"REGRETTABLY, I HEREBY DECLARE THIS MATCH A DRAW, MEANING BOTH COMBATANTS FAIL!!"

Both Fabian and Vivian were transported out of the pocket realm after that.

"Tsk, whatever." Damon clicked his tongue. "At least I’d be free for tomorrow, and the day after..." he paused turning to Alistair, who turned to look at him as if sensing his gaze.

Seeing that, Damon didn’t falter, instead, he smiled, pointed at himself, then at Alistair and mouthed; "It’s me and you now."

Even from the distance, Damon could see Alistair scoff before looking away.

FOR OUR NEXT MATCH, WE HAVE PERHAPS THE MOST FAMOUS INDIVIDUAL ON NAHAAR, THE BEARER OF THE OMEGA RANKED PHYSIQUE, ALISTAIR VON DRAKE!!! AND AGAINST HIM IS ANISA REDUN"

"I guess this is where I lose." The elf named Anisa muttered as she stood up.

The bright light transported both Alistair and Anisa to the ground not long after. The commentator also didn’t give them anytime to catch themselves, before he declared the match to begin.

Anisa ran at Alistair at full speed and reached Alistair near instantly, her scimitar falling towards his head.

Alistair didn’t even blink, he simply tilted his whole body almost parallel to the ground, letting the scimitar cleave through the air above him.

But a green orb formed from Anisa’s palm and shot at Alistair. However, the golden boy seeming disappeared entirely from her view, and the green orb hit the ground making a scorch mark.

Alistair reappeared behind Anisa and simply put her in a chokehold.

"Yield." He whispered to her ears, but Anisa replied with a green orb to his face. Once again, Alistair simply tilted his head to the side and let the orb pass by him.

"I said yield." Alistair tightened the chokehold.

After struggling a bit, Anisa seemed to have come to a decision and muttered in a small voice. "I forfeit."

"ALISTAIR VON DRAKE WINS!!!"

"How pathetic." Damon muttered. Anisa had already given up even before the fight began. Her fear didn’t even allow her to use her abilities well. It wasn’t she who was weak, it was her mind that was weak. Admittedly, she could never defeat Alistair, but she could have given him a far better resistance.

Anyway, Alistair was transported back on to the platform, and without wasting time, the commentator called out the next fight.

"FOR OUR NEXT MATCH, WE HAVE THE SEER OF PATHS, ANASTASIA NECRON!!! AND AGAINST HER IS NYSSA TIDECREST!!"

"Good luck." Rose muttered as Anastasia stood up from her seat.

"Luck?" Anastasia tilted her head and smiled. "You think I need it?"

Delilah merely shook her head. "Ever since you could see the future, you’ve become insufferable. And let me guess, you knew I would...

"Yes, I knew you would say this." Anastasia interrupted her.

Meanwhile, with Nyssa.

"I’m going to lose aren’t I?" Nyssa turned to Namor with a wry smile.

"Yes, you would lose." Namor replied with a grin. "How I wish I was the one in your place, Sia seems to be very strong, so strong it makes my scalp tingle."

"Tch, you are tactless." Nyssa murmured just as the bright light relocated her to the ground that instant.

Soon, both Anastasia and Nyssa stood facing each other on the battlefield.

"Uhh... hello Sia, Nymeria said to treat you like an enemy if we ever met." Nyssa said with a small smile.

"Nymeria is still ever the pragmatist isn’t she?" Anastasia shook her head with a smile.

"Just so you know, I won’t hold back, even though I know I’m going to lose." Nyssa said.

"BEGIN! BEGIN! BEGIN!!!!!!"

Nyssa disappeared from her spot, and no it wasn’t because she was so fast, but because she literally teleported.

In the blink of an eye, multiple figures of Nyssa appeared across the terrain, some in front of Anastasia, some behind her some at her sides.

Each Nyssa was flickering, disappearing and reappearing, then began flickering towards Anastasia in a hailstorm of their counterparts.

However, Anastasia merely stood still with her sword, not even reacting to the multiple Nyssas appearing before and behind her.

It continued like that for a while, however, the moment a Nyssa appeared before Anastasia, the redhead merely took a step to the side.

Nyssa’s eyes widened, she had been a hundred percent sure Anastasia wouldn’t be able to tell which Nyssa would attack her.

Nyssa’s initial ability was simply a teleportation ability called blink. She could teleport to any place in her fields of vision. She could even chain multiple blinks in a combo like she was doing currently.

It served to confuse opponents, making them never knowing when Nyssa would strike. Till date, no one, not even Namor and Sia before had been able to guess when she would attack, but now, it seemed Sia could tell.

Still, Nyssa didn’t falter, she increased her tempo, making herself infinitely faster. She kept teleporting in the same chain so fast it looked and felt like she was everywhere at once.

However, the next moment Nyssa teleported into one of her chain positions, She was met with Anastasia right in front of her.

Nyssa’s eyes widened, but before she could teleport away, Anastasia’s figure blurred before her very eyes and a punch to the guts knocked Nyssa out of her tempo.

Nyssa shot away, but suddenly disappeared mid air, and reappeared behind Anastasia, a dagger appearing in her hand. Without hesitation, she thrusted the dagger straight towards Anastasia’s heart.

To Nyssa’s surprise however, Anastasia’s figure blurred once more and disappeared from her view. Before Nyssa’s surprise could even take root, a foot smashed into her back from behind.

BOOM!

Nyssa disappeared from that spot, not because she teleported away, but because Anastasia’s much had sent her hurtling away.

Nyssa crashed to the ground with a loud thud, and rolled across the ground for quite a bit before propping herself up using her hand as a pivot.

"She’s still much of a monster." Nyssa muttered to herself. Back when Sia was still in Oceana after they had all awakened, she had always been a monster, the only one Sia couldn’t defeat at that time was Namor. But that also didn’t mean he could defeat her.

"Then I shall go all out." Nyssa muttered as her dagger suddenly got enveloped in a purple hue. The length of the purple hue elongated, turning the small dagger into a sword.

This was Nyssa’s Zeta ability. She could make any weapon capable cutting through the spatial fabric itself.

Nyssa’s figure disappeared from her spot as she appeared behind Anastasia, her spatial blade falling diagonally towards the redhead.

But the redhead vanished at the last second, leaving a vaccum of space for reality to fill back. However reality didn’t get the chance to do that as Nyssa’s spatial blade cut through the vacuum an instant later.

Whum!

Space split apart instantly, revealing an otherworldly cascade behind it’s folds which reality was hurriedly working to repair.

Nyssa however didn’t stop to admire that. Her figure already disappeared from there, chasing after Anastasia.

The two continued a game of cat and mouse running around, splitting spaces, slowing time and hastening time and all other bizarre phenomena.
