Chapter 231: Shut up already

By the time the second round ended, Damon had one stroke left on his arm. He watched as it blinked for a second before darkening all together.

Even though Damon didn’t intend to tag Rose, he had still kept an eye on her through his mirror sight. He witnessed her fight with her target, and finally, he saw through her eyes as she looked at his marked position on the tracker, and blasted towards him.

He wondered what she was coming to do in his place, but since he couldn’t come at a conclusion, he brought out an opulent couch from his spatial storage, and kicked back on it.

Then after Rose arrived, Damon looked at her wrist. Seeing the three strokes still present, he told her he wasn’t interested in tagging her, and then disappeared.

And now the second rank was over.

"‎"THE SECOND ROUND IS OVER!"

That was the only thing the voice said, before every single youth was teleported to a different place once again, much like what happened at the end of the first round.

Damon looked at the images on the projections. His supposed tagger and target.

"Some bastard must really be out to get me." He silently cursed.

Damon’s target was none other than Ivis Silvermoon, the young prince of the Elven Empire. And his tagger was no less terrifying. Damon’s tagger was no one other than Kaal Von Sanguine, the genius prince of the Demon Empire.

"Great, just great." He muttered. "Random my ass."

Though, make no mistake. While Damon was a little annoyed two of the top dogs had been assigned to him, it didn’t mean he was backing out.

He had every intention of tagging Ivis, and he sure as hell wouldn’t let Kaal tag him. ’There is no way any of them can reach me in the mirror dimension.’ Damon thought. Though, Damon didn’t say it, he believed that even without the mirror dimension, he was confident none of them were tagging him.

Spreading his awareness and mirror sight, he soon caught sight of Ivis and Kaal. Both were already moving, and it seemed they would cross paths soon enough. In fact Damon wished they would begin fighting, no, not that. He wished that Ivis’s target was Kaal.

"Now, that would make things a lot more interesting wouldn’t it?" He smiled. He knew there was little to no chance of that happening, but in the off chance that it does, he would be there.

So Damon kept his mirror sight on both, and soon enough, their eyes met. Then through Kaal’s eyes, Damon witnessed Ivis grinning like a predator.

’Oh, I forgot what happened during the banquet.’ Damon thought. ’It seems like it won’t be mattering whether Kaal is Ivis’ target or not.’ He mused.

"Does this world love me or not?" Damon grinned as the remnant clash of two extremely strong auras washed over him even from over ten kilometers away. But Damon didn’t shield himself, he welcomed it instead, letting the shockwave flutter his hair wildly.

With a single step, a boom followed by a crack sounded as the sound barrier shattered, followed by the mirror dimension’s. Damon bolted in the direction of the clash.

As much as Damon would have like to bolted there without even concealing his presence, this was alas a game of elimination, not a full fledged brute battle.

Brains were required here, admittedly, brawns were also required, but not as important as brains. It wouldn’t do for Damon to blatantly announce himself while the two were battling. It would only put them both on guard and would make his work of tagging Ivis much more complicated.

But if Damon tagged Ivis first like he did Vael, then he would be free to do as he liked, maybe even join their fight in an every man for himself setting.

Soon, Damon arrived in their place of battle, and with one glance, he realized this was nothing compared to the trashes Zeta and even Zeta+ ranked he had encountered earlier, be it the heretics he has fought during the Ivos gala, or most of the fools he had encountered.

And Damon himself already knew that, because he was also in the same classification as these two bastards ruining the surrounding with every move. Damon could tell that the Theta+ rank version of him that carried himself with arrogance and even dealt with Misra, wouldn’t stand a single attack from any of these two.

He watched Ivis and Kaal exchange attacks with frightening speed and grace. At the rate they were going it seemed like one distraction, was enough to cost the other their life.

They weren’t even using their abilities as far as Damon could tell, just pure weapon skills and technique. And yet, they were already tearing nature as if it were paper.

’If anyone had this level of power back on earth, they’d rule the world with no opposition.’ Damon thought.

Ivis’s rapier thrusted towards Kaal neck, but the demon prince let it skim off his blood red spear with effortless grace. From the small exchange alone, Damon could tell that Kaal held the upper hand.

It was to be expected, after all, the only reason Alistair won against this monster in the novel was plot armor, not to mention the win was also a fluke. If Ivis and Kaal were in the same rank, it might be harder to tell who might win, but with Kaal being a rank higher, it wasn’t even debatable.

Damon continued to watch their battle, while waiting for a good opportunity. He knew tagging Ivis wouldn’t in the slightest be like tagging Vael. He’d have to thoroughly prepare for it.

Ivis swung his rapier, sending hundreds of blade lights at the demon prince, but Kaal looked unfazed. He swept his spear in an all annihilating red light, bringing pandemonium to the land.

The world got bathed in red as a red giant horseman in armor manifested behind Kaal. With a single slash of it’s spear, it reduced everything to asunder. The earth tore into ravines, mountains collapsed, and trees were uprooted.

Damon watched in awe at Kaal’s attack. That was the immortal technique of the demon royal family, much like the Darkfell royal sword style was to the Darkfell, and it was called; Blood rider of hell’s gate. This was just it’s first form.

’Still the same as in the novel, he has perfected it.’ Damon thought with fascination as the remnant echo of the blood rider of hell’s gate faded away.

Soon, everything cleared away to reveal the two princes. Kaal looked entirely untouched and still had his indifferent expression. His blood red spear pulsed silently in his hand.

Ivis on the other hand, stood a few tens of meters away, his right sleeve completely shredded away, revealing his chiseled arm. He also looked untouched safe for the torn sleeve, but he had a grim expression on his face.

At that moment, Damon acted. A mirror gate opened directly above Ivis’s shoulder, as Damon’s had emerged from it, reaching for Ivis. But Ivis was no Vael, he sensed something behind him the moment the gate began to open.

Ivis flickered away, his eyes narrowed as his body blurred to the side. However, another mirror gate instantly opened in the direction his body had flickered, another hand reaching for him.

Ivis kicked the ground, the decelerating to zero in an instant just as his shoulder was an inch shy of touching the hand, and leapt upwards, vaulting over the hand (Keep in mind, only Damon can see the mirror gates).

However this time, another hand appeared reaching for him. Ivis frowned twisting his body mid air, successfully pushing his body away from the direction of the hand.

But as if they were endless, another appeared next to his falling body, holding his shirt, while another appeared and above his shoulder and landed on his shoulder with a small tap.

Ivis’s eyes widened, staring in disbelief at the hand that just landed on his shoulder as it disappeared just as quickly as it appeared.

He couldn’t believe it, someone had just tagged him, he, Ivis Silvermoon. The sheer thought sent rage coursing through the veins in his body.

Even Kaal watched from a distance in slight curiosity and apprehension.

Meanwhile, in the mirror dimension, Damon, or rather, the Damons watched with an increasingly widening smile.

Before he attacked, Damon had created exactly twenty reflections, then positioned each of himself in places Ivis was likely to dodge to. Which was the reason why a hand was always appearing in every direction Ivis blurred to.

"Come out, I dare you!" Ivis shouted into thin air.

"Unless you are...." Ivis began to speak again when the person who tagged him didn’t answer, but he was cut off.

"Shut up already, you could burst someone’s eardrums at this rate." Damon appeared, picking his ear with his pinkie.
