Chapter 414: Search-and-Retrieve

Gungan blinked his eyes.

He felt much better, like he had been rejuvenated in springs of healing water and was reborn as a new man.

Fang Raon slowly pulled the sword out of his body.

"Heal!"

Poppy cast a healing spell, and the wound on Gungan's chest started closing up until it was completely healed.

"It worked!"

Kennelman and Matthew looked happy.

"Hehe!"

Poppy smiled happily while Skadi just crossed her arms and looked rather unhappy—or it was just her permanent expression.

Fang Raon slowly slid the sword back to its scabbard.

"…Thank you."

Gungan stood up from the cart and offered his hand to Fang Raon, and he grabbed it and gave it a shake.

"What was your name again?"

He asked.

"Fang Raon."

In that moment, there was a look of recognition on Matthew's face, and with a great surprise, he pointed at him.

"Wait, I know you! Didn't you make that Hunt for the Butcher video? Yeah, it was definitely you. I thought you looked familiar!"

Fang Raon wryly smiled and nodded.

It wasn't a surprise that people recognized him through the video when it was on the front page of Lagless.

It wasn't on the front page anymore because that one week had already passed, but it did pass thirty million views already.

"You've become a video maker?"

Poppy asked with a surprise.

It wasn't the profession that she thought that he would go for.

"I've done a couple. Not a big deal really."

Fang Raon said.

"Not going to lie, guys, my throat is parched. That curse emptied my stomach and made me feel like I have not drank anything for days.

"Can we head over to the nearest restaurant?"

Gungan asked, and everyone agreed.

…

Japan Town, The Restaurant of Last Call.

"…This is some good stuff!"

Gungan drowned the water like a thirsty man in the desert and then ate from three plates at the same time.

Others were eating more modestly.

"Who are you with, Raon?"

Matthew asked curiously.

They believed that he must be with some party in here, as they didn't believe anyone could make it all the way here as a solo player.

"…Nobody at the very moment."

Fang Raon said.

"You're really alone? Didn't you party up with some people to get here?"

Kennelman asked.

"I did with some parties, but we parted our ways as soon as we cleared that floor. Their climbing speed was not up to my speed."

Fang Raon said.

The parties he teamed up with were barely strong enough to clear those floors, and therefore, they needed a few more weeks to try to attempt another Boss Raid.

Fang Raon, who was way too strong for those floors, wanted to climb these floors much quicker, so he had to hop from one party to next.

"You're with Rose Records still?"

Poppy asked.

"Yes, I am. I made the First Line actually. They're waiting for me over at the 50th floor, so I am trying to get there."

Fang Raon said and took a sip of the water.

"Then, if you're all alone now, why don't you join us for a while? We're going to attempt the Boss Raid soon again."

Gungan said.

"That sounds great. We can help each other out, Raon!"

Poppy said happily.

She really liked the idea, and so did others, as it was quite obvious that Fang Raon was a really strong player.

They all knew about Rose Records—it held a high position in the Global Guild Rankings—so making the First Line in such a prestigious guild was a big deal.

"Sure."

Fang Raon said.

He needed a party either way, so he had no reason to decline.

"With your cursed sword, we don't need to be scared of the King of the Black Orcs anymore."

Matthew said with a smirk.

"Before doing the Boss Raid, I did accept a quest from the Adventurer's Guild because it sounded interesting."

Fang Raon said.

Then, he pulled out a quest poster from the pocket of his jacket and opened it fully and then placed it at the middle of the table.

"A quest…?"

Everyone leaned closer to the poster and looked at what it was about—they couldn't really understand.

"How is this interesting? Isn't it just a search-and-retrieve quest?"

Matthew asked with a frown.

It sounded like a low-level quest that some of them did during the early levels of the tower.

"It is a solo quest, so I have to do it alone. After I am done with that, we can do the Boss Raid."

Fang Raon said with a smile.

He took the poster back and stored it inside his jacket.

He didn't tell others why this search-and-retrieve quest wasn't as simple as they thought.

When he was looking through the quest board, his sword actually reacted to this quest—as if there was something special about it.

Therefore.

He had to accept it!

"We will do necessary arrangements. We did deplete our supply of Mana Recovery Potions and Healing Liquids, so we need to buy more of them.

"We also need to visit a blacksmith. My sword is losing its durability. There is a lot of stuff to do before we are ready for it again."

Gungan said.

"We used a Black Orc bait to trick every Black Orc into leaving their village—so that we only had to deal with the King of the Black Orcs.

"That Black Orc bait is difficult to make. Even making one is a few days of hard work because we need to acquire so many different things to make it."

Kennelman said.

'Sounded like what I did, but differently. I wonder if there was also some way to make Ice Elf bait on the previous floor…'

…

A half an hour later.

"See you tomorrow at the Adventurer's Guild."

Gungan shook Fang Raon's hand, and then they went in separate directions.

The party went straight to shopping for more equipment, and they also planned to take a quick visit to the blacksmith shop.

Japan Town had one of the greatest blacksmiths in the entire tower, so many players frequented this location just for that blacksmith.

Fang Raon, on the other hand, with the quest poster in hand, headed towards the town gates—as his quest was taking him elsewhere.

While he was walking away, a person sneakily peeked towards him and followed him from a distance.

"Raon…"

The woman whispered with desire—she was none other than Xiao Yue—who, for some reason, had come here.

She kept her presence minimal, so as not to alert him to her following.

"Young princess…"

At that moment, a voice came from behind her, and she jumped like a frightened kitten and turned around with a flushed expression.

Graham was looking at her with a twitching eyebrow.

"Why are you following that young man?"

"N-no reason…"

Xiao Yue averted her gaze, but she was really a poor liar, and honestly Graham was shocked at how much emotion she was showing.

It wasn't like her…

"That's the young man that the King Rorazon wants to see, no? Why don't you invite him to our place already?"

Graham asked.

"I'll do that… later…"

Xiao Yue said, but as she turned her head around, she noticed that Fang Raon was already gone from view.

"Damn it…"

She clicked her tongue because Graham made her lose track of him.

"I am not letting you leave my sights anymore, Miss Yue. I think we should head back to the guild headquarters, don't you think so?"

Graham said.

"…Fine…"

Xiao Yue pouted and reluctantly agreed.

Graham pulled out his Tower Pearl and offered his hand to her—so that both of them would use that one Tower Pearl without having to waste two.

Xiao Yue looked at that hand—she just scoffed—then she took out her own Tower Pearl and used that.

She wasn't going to let just anybody touch her.

"…"

Graham rolled his eyes, and then he used his own Tower Pearl and disappeared from the Japan Town.

…

Fang Raon looked at the quest poster, and then he folded it and slipped it inside his jacket's pocket.

Then.

He looked down from the hill towards a small house that stood in the middle of the field—surrounded by fields of wheat, sunflowers, and other crops ready for harvest.

'Is that where Peter the Farmer is?'

Fang Raon thought.

There was a map at the back of the quest poster, and he believed that he followed it closely enough.

There was a large red "X" marked on the map—right at the location that was surrounded by fields of wheat and sunflowers.

'Let's go…'

Fang Raon thought with a determined look on his face—but at the same moment, the cursed Blackest Blade vibrated.

It seemed… scared.
