Twisted Dreams

Undersea City.

It was an ordinary day for the underwater residents.

Little mermaids were frolicking and jumping along the empty streets.

A red starfish and a yellow sea surface block were catching jellyfish.

Octopus people and lobster people were moving stones, constructing unknown buildings.

The Clam Lady carried a bag made of seaweed through the market, buying the freshest sea urchins.

At this moment, all the residents looked up, fear in their eyes.

They saw a gigantic undead whale in the sky above the city, its body starting to rot and reveal white bones.

The undead whale drifted not far above the city; fortunately, the buildings here generally weren’t taller than three meters, so there was no collapse.

The undead whale opened its mouth, and two figures, one large and one small, jumped out before the undead whale suddenly disappeared.

Two humans appeared on the street.

Li Yang fished out a cigarette from his pocket to light it but found he couldn’t get it to ignite.

Suzu looked around the undersea city with shock on her face.

Seeing a group of ocean children catching jellyfish, she rolled up her sleeves and was about to run over.

Li Yang grabbed Suzu by the nape of her neck:

"Don’t run around."

Suzu nodded dejectedly.

Li Yang walked toward the Dragon Palace, observing the surroundings:

"This place isn’t simple; it definitely wasn’t created by that dragon.

Perhaps it doesn’t belong to this era but that era..."

Before he finished speaking, Li Yang realized Suzu was no longer beside him. "Where’s Suzu?"

He heard a commotion behind him, turned sharply, and saw Suzu holding onto a little mermaid’s seaweed net bag.

The little mermaid child was using all its strength, trying to yank the net bag back from the thief:

"What are you doing?! Let go!"

Suzu bared her teeth threateningly:

"Kid! Lend it to me for a bit!"

The surrounding residents were intrigued by the scene.

The sea race was too innocent; they didn’t know what theft or robbery was.

In their world, the concept of evil didn’t yet exist.

Newly born, their desires were small, mainly filled with expectation and hope.

Passersby didn’t know whom to help; they had no concept of a sheriff, no fundamental considerations of cases, no idea whose net bag it actually was.

Li Yang’s face darkened:

"Come back!"

Suzu glanced at Li Yang, saw his expression wasn’t good, and knew he was angry.

She quickly withdrew her hand, chuckling awkwardly with bared teeth.

At this moment, a sound came from the sky.

Li Yang looked up, spotting a team of strong lobster people led by an octopus man swimming over.

The octopus man held a trident, standing majestically in the air:

"Humans, come with me."

Dragon Palace.

Li Yang led Suzu by the hand, walking through the magnificent Dragon Palace.

Suzu was curious about everything; perhaps it was in a cat’s nature.

The octopus people and lobster people looked at Suzu warily.

This human was different from the last one, this little girl was quite evil, even bold enough to snatch things.

As for that man, well... he had a gloomy aura about him, probably not a good person either.

The suspicious eyes made Suzu a bit unhappy.

She didn’t understand why Li Yang wouldn’t let her teach these guys a lesson.

The Dragon King looked at Li Yang with amusement:

"You’re indeed not from the Security Administration."

The octopus man began to complain:

"Your Highness, the girl among these two robbed something on the street!"

Suzu turned her head, glaring:

"Just a shabby net bag, do you have to fuss about it until now?!"

Li Yang glanced back:

"Suzu!"

Suzu reluctantly shut her mouth.

The Dragon King waved his hand:

"Leave them; they’re not someone you can handle."

The octopus man obeyed, glaring at Suzu before leaving.

The Dragon King’s body shimmered with dragon scales, leaning his head on his hand, looking at Li Yang:

"Coming to my territory to steal things, you sure have guts."

Li Yang said nothing, walking toward the Dragon King, nearing the crystal dragon throne.

The Dragon King narrowed his eyes dangerously:

"I’m speaking to you!"

Li Yang raised his gaze, his eyes cold.

In that instant of eye contact, the Dragon King remembered something.

He finally remembered who this man was!

The Dragon King suddenly jumped down from the throne, staring at Li Yang in terror.

Li Yang sat on the crystal dragon throne, looking at the Dragon King indifferently:

"Your management of the sea race is quite good.

Pure, kind, brave, an excellent race."

The Dragon King hurried to the center of the hall, kneeling:

"I’m sorry, my memory of you is too vague; I didn’t recognize you just now."

Li Yang ignored the Dragon King’s words, speaking to himself:

"The mortal world is filled with desire, every person an unawakened demon.

This place is different, very peaceful, I like it."

Li Yang made a fortune by manipulating and trading desires.

He loved desire because it was fascinating.

Yet after gorging on grand feasts, a simple cool salad was a refreshing change.

The sea race was like a light dish, refreshing to Li Yang.

As for the octopus man’s rudeness, he didn’t care at all.

Li Yang looked at the Dragon King:

"Avoid contact with humans; their desires will eventually tarnish this pure land."

The Dragon King was silent for a moment:

"But, they promised to help me."

Li Yang said:

"Suit yourself."

Li Yang stood, saying:

"I heard you have a treasury; I want to take a look."

The Dragon King laughed:

"Really? Alright! Let me show you my collection!"

The Dragon King, eager like a child showing off toys, rushed to the dragon throne, grabbing Li Yang’s hand, then taking Suzu’s hand as they ran toward his Dragon Palace Treasury.

The Dragon King completely forgot about Li Yang’s identity, acting just like a simple child.

Perhaps only such a monarch could build a pure kingdom.

Inside the Dragon Palace Treasury.

Li Yang pushed open the door sealed by the Dragon King.

It was here that the Celestial Race corpse was found.

This place was a dark abyss, full of ominous and evil aura.

It was a whole different world compared to the idyllic surroundings outside.

Li Yang walked to the deepest part, unleashing a surge of spiritual power, filling every corner of the small space.

He was astonished to find the darkness here was tangible; it was flowing!

The darkness here felt familiar!

Li Yang mumbled:

"This is the civilization of the Celestial Race!"

Li Yang waved his hand, revealing a pitch-black magic circle on the ground.

A celestial ghost crawled out of the magic circle.

Li Yang said:

"Based on the memories from your past life, find something familiar here."

The celestial ghost responded to Li Yang’s instructions, purposefully heading to a specific area.

In an inconspicuous spot, the celestial ghost vanished.

A moment later, the celestial ghost returned, holding a tattered booklet.

On it were the words: Hunter’s Manual.

Li Yang flipped through the booklet but couldn’t make out the writing.

This booklet probably belonged to the Elder Monk.

Li Yang flipped to the last page, his pupils suddenly contracting.

On the last page, in delicate writing, were the words:

"Li Yang, help me! I’m in the Lost City!"
