Live Strong in the Wilderness

Chapter 416: Lu Ke Advances

"Xu Yi, Er Ha is starting to refuse to move forward. Are we getting close to the edge?" Lu Ke rode Er Ha over to Xu Yi’s side and asked, stroking Er Ha’s head.

"Yes, it seems like it. They’re all becoming restless; they must have sensed something. Alright, let’s set up camp here." Xu Yi said and then jumped off the Black Qilin.

Although they hadn’t found a water source, they did have 1.5 cubic meters of water reserve, which could last them a while.

Once they level up, they can continue onward. Then, naturally, they can find water supplies.

So, everyone sprang into action immediately.

Those setting up camp set up camp, those digging a stove dug a stove, and those chopping wood chopped wood—everything was in perfect order.

No Fierce Beast appeared nearby.

However, an invisible pressure weighed on everyone.

Xu Yi stood in an open space, using his Spiritual Power to perceive the situation ahead.

His Spiritual Power could sense a range of 50 meters.

But he could clearly visualize only a range within 20 meters; beyond that, Xu Yi could only sense some vague messages.

Still, this was enough.

Within a 50-meter range, there were no traces of Fierce Beasts, indicating that the area was relatively safe.

Night was falling, so after settling in, they started cooking.

Dinner was potatoes, with no special cooking method—washed and boiled until cooked. Then, they boiled a pot of meat soup to go with the potatoes.

Only Xu Yi’s small group got to eat staple food.

Other groups were all eating roasted meat. Right now, meat wasn’t scarce, especially for the other two groups besides Jerry’s.

After dinner, everyone went to train.

Lu Yao and Wang Jin were on watch for the first half of the night, Qin Fan and Qin Chao for the second half.

A little after nine, Xu Yi suddenly felt a strange fluctuation coming from Lu Ke.

So, Xu Yi immediately withdrew from the Supreme Profound Meditation practice.

"Lu Ke, what happened?" Xu Yi opened his eyes and saw Lu Ke already out of bed.

"Xu Yi, I think I’ve had a breakthrough and become a Level 2 Mage." Lu Ke said happily.

"Really, that’s great. Come, try attacking me with a Red Lotus Arrow." Xu Yi was equally thrilled; after all, Lu Ke was his most loyal partner.

"Won’t it hurt you?" Lu Ke asked worriedly, as she felt her power had greatly increased and feared she might not control it well, thus injuring Xu Yi.

"No, don’t worry, just go ahead boldly." Xu Yi said confidently; his current strength was equivalent to that of a Level 3 Mage. Lu Ke couldn’t possibly injure him.

"Alright." Lu Ke took a deep breath, then controlled her flying arrow and shot it towards Xu Yi.

"What speed!" Lu Ke hadn’t expected that by using Telekinesis, her effectiveness would be similar to the Hunting Bow.

"Not bad, not only is the speed fast, but the force isn’t lacking either. Whether it’s a Divine Master or Mage, it is only after reaching Level 2 that one truly masters power. Now you have the ability to handle Level 2 Fierce Beasts on your own." Xu Yi said with great satisfaction; Lu Ke was even more formidable than he had expected.

The stronger Lu Ke was, the happier and more assured Xu Yi felt.

"Let’s go test your abilities outside. But don’t mention your Perception Ability." Xu Yi cautioned Lu Ke; after all, her Telekinesis had mutated, so keeping it a secret as long as possible was wise.

"I understand." Lu Ke nodded earnestly, then walked out with Xu Yi.

"What’s going on, is there a situation?" Lu Yao and Wang Jin saw Xu Yi and Lu Ke walking out of the tent and immediately became alert, retrieving their rifles from the Star Chart Space to hold.

"It’s fine, Lu Ke ranked up to a Level 2 Mage, we’re just going to test combat capabilities." Xu Yi explained.

"Really, is it true, Lu Ke, you’re a Level 2 Mage?" Wang Jin asked with great surprise and envy, her voice involuntarily louder.

It was only a little after eight; everyone was inside the tent training, so they naturally heard Wang Jin’s words and walked out.

Lu Ke ranked up too?

Last night it was Xu Yi, tonight it’s Lu Ke—they are too strong, making it hard for others to focus on their training!

"Yes, I think so." Lu Ke replied, then looked towards the Black Qilin.

Everyone then noticed the Black Qilin floating.

After experiencing the same thing last night, the Black Qilin wasn’t as scared today.

However, it didn’t last long; after 10 seconds, the Black Qilin returned to the ground.

"It’s incredible, you can make the Black Qilin float; your Telekinesis has gotten so much stronger." Su Yan said enviously.

Who wouldn’t want to become stronger?

Sadly, it wasn’t them who were getting stronger, so they could only watch Lu Ke with envious eyes.

Such tests proved Lu Ke had successfully advanced to Level 2 Mage.

Next, she controlled the flying arrow to shoot at a distant tree.

The others still needed to use their hands to obtain rather quick initial speed with the flying arrow. But Lu Ke had skipped this step, directly controlling the Red Lotus Flying Arrow to shoot out faster than if they were to throw it by hand.

"I can’t stand it, I’m going back to train, I need to break through too." Su Yan said, hastily returning to the tent to train.

The others returned in succession, sharing Su Yan’s mindset.

They had to work even harder, only then could they quickly level up to become a Level 2 Mage.

Even Wang Jin and Lu Yao sat down since they had to guard the first half of the night and couldn’t return to the tent to train.

"Sister Lu Yao, A Jin, you go back and train, I’ll take over the night watch. I’ve just leveled up, still need to familiarize myself with my power." Lu Ke said to Wang Jin and Lu Yao.

"Go ahead, I’m here too. Lu Ke and I will watch each other during the night; focus solely on training tonight." Xu Yi said loudly, naturally addressing Qin Fan and Qin Chao who were supposed to be on guard.

Lu Ke’s breakthrough indeed motivated them.

Subsequently, Lu Ke continued using her Telekinesis, adapting swiftly to the transformation.

Not until over two in the morning did Lu Ke go to rest. Were it not for Xu Yi’s urging, she might have continued.

In terms of Perception Ability, Lu Ke hadn’t seen a marked improvement, though her range increased to 20 meters, the ’visual effect’ remained unchanged.

Even so, Lu Ke was greatly thrilled. Being the first to advance to Level 2 Mage, she felt quite proud.

Of course, she knew her swift advancement was somehow related to the Spiritual Meditation Method Xu Yi taught her.

Sadly, Xu Yi still couldn’t teach it to others.
