Chapter 405: Mutated Telekinesis
Now, they have four tents, so the small one can be used as a makeshift toilet.
They dug a sloped pit, and didn’t spend much time on it, since they’re all quite strong.
Always going into the jungle for relief isn’t very safe, so having it by the campsite is much better.
Xu Yi’s tent was set at the edge, allowing him to see farther.
Actually, the tent would be better for someone else, since Xu Yi relies on his Spiritual Vision and can see outside the tent anyway.
However, everyone felt this tent should be given to Xu Yi.
Since it was only around three o’clock, after setting up camp, everyone began their cultivation.
Lu Ke and the others took care of the Fierce Beast’s carcass and stored it in the Star Chart Space. Their Star Chart Spaces were already almost full, with barely any room left for more Fierce Beast Meat, so they gave the bones to Erha and the Black Qilin, more than enough for a feast.
After finishing up, they also practiced for a while, and then around six in the evening, they began cooking.
Although their weapons had been dealt with, everyone still had a versatile Engineer Shovel. Xu Yi considered the Engineer Shovel to be quite useful; you really can’t do without it in the wild.
After dinner, Xu Yi returned to his tent.
The Fierce Beast, carried by Xu Yi back to his tent, was ready for taming attempts every hour, to see if he could succeed.
At the tent’s entrance, the Black Qilin lay obediently, its ears twitching about vigilantly.
After using Taming Skills ten times, Xu Yi did not start practicing Supreme Profound Meditation Method but began Body Refining Technique.
Now, the tent had a spacious interior, even more suitable for practicing Body Refining Technique.
Thus, Xu Yi decided to practice it twice, then start Supreme Profound Meditation. After all, having stopped for 30 days, Xu Yi was a bit rusty, and only through practice could he regain familiarity.
The Body Refining Technique was indeed challenging.
Yet, Xu Yi planned to find a time to teach it to Lu Ke.
This would mean Lu Ke sharing a tent with him.
How would the others perceive his relationship with Lu Ke?
Things were different now; the previous 100 days of being paired wasn’t the same binding as before.
If they continued sharing a tent, would the others still see his and Lu Ke’s relationship as purely platonic?
Having spent over 100 days together, Xu Yi knew he felt no romantic impulse towards Lu Ke.
But to say he felt nothing at all for Lu Ke would be self-deceptive.
More than friends, not quite lovers?
Perhaps, but anyway Xu Yi hadn’t figured it out and wasn’t in the mood to dwell on it.
Upon reuniting with Su Yan, he realized his past feelings toward her had vanished. Maybe it was because he had extraordinary abilities now.
Xu Yi, being from another world, indeed felt nothing special for Su Yan, only thinking she was very pretty and had a good figure.
But Lu Yao and Wang Jin were no less attractive.
In terms of figure, Qin Yue could outshine any of them.
However, Xu Yi presently felt no such desires.
He felt his body’s hormone levels might have been affected, suppressing certain impulses. Perhaps once his power grew stronger, he’d return to normal.
Besides, his body’s previous self had feelings for Su Yan, not him. Over time, those feelings had completely faded.
As he finished a round of Body Refining Technique, Xu Yi saw Lu Ke walking toward his campsite.
Xu Yi was a little surprised and stopped.
"Xu Yi, are you asleep? Can I come in?" Lu Ke asked.
"Come in," Xu Yi replied.
However, Lu Ke seemed not to hear.
So Xu Yi raised his voice, saying, "Come in."
Lu Ke still didn’t hear and hesitated at the entrance about whether to lift the curtain and enter.
At that moment, Xu Yi was pretty certain the tent had an incredibly effective soundproof system, making it impossible for someone outside to hear what’s inside.
This Spirit Race tent was indeed formidable, perfect for use in such dangerous wilderness.
So Xu Yi lifted the curtain.
Lu Ke was initially startled, then looked at Xu Yi with surprise before entering.
"The soundproofing in this tent is impressive; I responded twice, but you didn’t hear." Xu Yi mentioned, considering Lu Ke’s hearing was not much different than his own.
"Alright, I’ll head outside and you call, and I’ll experience it firsthand." Xu Yi said, stepping out.
Xu Yi signaled ’OK’ with his hand, and Lu Ke started calling out.
Outside, Xu Yi listened carefully, ear inclined.
Lu Ke called for a bit, and then Xu Yi returned.
"It’s really strong, I can completely hear outside sounds from inside, but not the reverse; requires Spiritual Power." Xu Yi was wholly impressed by the Spirit Race’s technology.
This tent may lack windows, but it’s incredibly breathable.
Simply put, its technological content is astounding, beyond human capabilities to replicate its functions.
"Shame there’s only one; wish we could find more." Lu Ke said regretfully, hoping others could also stay in such tents for safer nights.
"Yes, I think this tent might even have stealth or color-changing capabilities to evade detection." Xu Yi believed the Spirit Race would have considered these functions, and technically they should manage them.
"Mm-hmm, that’d be safer, makes sense. Xu Yi, could we have missed other Spirit Race tents?" Lu Ke quickly caught on, saying excitedly.
If that’s the case, she and Xu Yi could ride back on mounts since they hadn’t gone too far, and the Black Qilin and Erha could make a round trip within three hours.
"No, I used Spiritual Power to scan, there shouldn’t be other tents there." Xu Yi said, having thoroughly scouted the area.
Besides, invisibility pertains only to sight and doesn’t make objects vanish physically; they circled around without encountering any obstacles.
"Good if there were any, we could have fetched them back." Saying so, Lu Ke playfully stuck out her tongue.
Xu Yi listened and couldn’t help but chuckle. Such good fortune doesn’t come often.
"By the way, did you come for something?" Xu Yi asked, in case Lu Ke came with something important and he’d inadvertently disrupted it.
"I wanted to ask you a question." Lu Ke said, gazing at Xu Yi intently.
Seeing Lu Ke like that, Xu Yi couldn’t help but feel a bit tense.
What question would she ask him?
