Abyss Summoner

Chapter 799 781: Land with an Owner

Everything before him was so unfamiliar.

The Water Ghost dragged its weary body down from the deck; a long sea voyage, originally accompanied by five ships, now only two remained, with over hundreds of people perished at sea. This was the current situation.

The sea is dangerous, especially in an apocalyptic world like this. No one can clearly know what kind of monsters are hidden in the depths of the ocean!

The Water Ghost had seen whales the size of icebergs swim past and had heard some mysterious singing at twilight. Those songs seemed to possess immense magic power, driving the crew to sail forward. Of course, various indescribable things happened. The strangest was that it even saw a Ghost Ship.

It wasn't the usual steel-made ship but a wooden one, covered in moss and scattered with weapons. More eerie was the Skeleton flag raised above it.

The Water Ghost participated in a Beastman battle and thus became a formidable Gold Warrior. However, the strong power did not make it proud; on the contrary, after experiencing various changes, it became more cautious.

It gave up on exploring that ship because the Water Ghost instinctively felt that if it really ventured into it, it might very likely encounter some irreversible dangers.

During the few months of the voyage, the Water Ghost went through more thrills than it could ever imagine in its lifetime, including despair, pain, and countless disasters.

Without the assistance of the Nagas, this group would have already sunk to the bottom of the sea. Even though full of hardships, the five ships still cautiously continued forward without massive casualties until a storm a week ago became the beginning of this nightmare.

The Water Ghost had never seen such a terrifying storm. Minutes earlier, it was a sunny sky, but soon dark clouds gathered overhead, and the sun seemed swallowed, leaving pitch-black darkness.

The storm descended.

Screams were everywhere.

All crew members participating in this voyage were elite, each boasting some battle honors; after all, this wasn't an ordinary food exploration but a discovery of a new continent, so naturally, personnel needed optimization.

It was hard to imagine that those warriors, strong enough to duel face-to-face with Beastmen and bite through the necks of fierce beasts, would cry out in a storm, including the Water Ghost.

If someone now directly accused the Water Ghost of being weak and cowardly, it would immediately purse its lips and then fiercely spit at the other person's face.

It was an indescribable feeling, with everything around wrapped in darkness. So-called experience and strength were insignificant in the face of devastating disaster.

The Water Ghost was lucky to have survived, but this storm caused three ships to be lost at sea. Perhaps as a cruel joke by fate, both supply ships were among the sunken ones.

Apart from this, the two remaining ships also suffered various degrees of damage. The patrol Nagas suffered heavy casualties, with only three survivors left.

It could be said that the Water Ghost encountered an unprecedented crisis. The supply ship was damaged. Food was manageable, as there were plenty of fish in the sea to fill the stomach, but the water source became one of the most severe problems.

No fresh water!

To survive, they could only rely on fish blood for energy. Many times, the Water Ghost felt like giving up, but because of his young son, he had to persevere back, which became his only motivation!

The desire for survival drove them to continue ahead.

And today, they finally saw land. The Water Ghost ordered the crew to advance at full speed, and finally, after an hour, they landed on the shore!

The Water Ghost's eyes were bloodshot. The long exposure to sunlight and lack of water had already pushed him to the brink of collapse, but as the leader of this group, he knew he couldn't fall.

"Sea Dog, take people to explore the surroundings."

"Hook, take people to search for water sources."

"The rest, set up camp on the spot, and have three teams hold weapons for vigilance!"

After the simple orders, the surrounding crowd began to move. Though equally exhausted, their thirst for life still moved them to action.

The Water Ghost likewise did not rest. This was an unfamiliar environment, and he needed more understanding of it.

Many human relics were around, such as cars or houses, but with time, those cars had become rusted, and houses had collapsed due to earthquakes, turning the once-home into scattered debris.

"Where on earth is this?"

Because of the storm, the Water Ghost had veered off course, and with just this information, it couldn't discern where they were!

"Found a water source!"

"The water source is here!"

At this moment, the team sent to find a water source cried out in excitement.

"Water source?"

Upon hearing this voice, the surrounding crowd began to stir. Led by the Water Ghost, they saw a small creek, and everyone, regardless of anything else, fell to the ground to drink water.

Life was being restored.

After gulping down some water, the Water Ghost clearly felt his strength returning. The disgusting bloody taste in his mouth was cleansed, and the bad breath decreased significantly.

A bizarre noise came from the bushes nearby. The Water Ghost's gaze suddenly brightened, and with a step, it leaped more than ten meters. After all, it was now a Gold Warrior, with speed and strength far superior to before!

The Water Ghost grabbed forcefully, throwing a ragged survivor to the ground. The other looked miserable, emaciated, with many pustules on the face, seemingly infected by something.

Because of the Blood Sacrifice, the Water Ghost's human appearance had long disappeared, becoming a true monster instead. Ordinary communication was familiar to the crew, but to this survivor, it was immense terror. At this moment, he looked as if he had seen a ghost, squatting on the ground, continuously retreating with mutterings: "Don't eat me... I beg you, don't eat me..."

"Where is this place? Is there a settlement nearby?" The Water Ghost asked two questions in succession.

"Don't eat me... ghost!" With that, the other person's head tilted, and he fainted.

"…" The Water Ghost.

"Doctor! Come here and bandage his wounds first, then ask him if there's any survivor base around here." The Water Ghost frowned, ordering others to take over the questioning task.

The survivor was taken away by the doctor for treatment, while the Water Ghost gazed around full of doubts. It was impossible for someone, alone and without strong abilities, to survive so long in this apocalypse, implying that there was a survivor base here.

Of course, it's not strange why the other appeared here. The Water Ghost, before participating in the Blood Sacrifice, was a scavenger. For food, he once searched the wild like the other.

A land with surviving humans.

"Try to contact Order; we've discovered a new continent!" After thinking for a while, the Water Ghost issued another command!
