Abyss Summoner

Chapter 797 - 779: Demon Fruit

Terrifying energy breeds in the void, and the altar reveals the figures of Lanta and the Frost Giant. However, their bodies are now incredibly ethereal, like Resentful Spirits venting their last grievances!

Two pairs of eyes focus on Chen Feng, filled with hatred that longs to flay his flesh, suck his marrow, and tear his tendons. Yet, Chen Feng remains indifferent, holding onto his initial belief: If they couldn’t defeat him alive, would death change anything?

"Groundless fear!"

The roars carried a form of Soul Attack. Chen Feng’s face showed a hint of anger as he shouted furiously, and in an instant, the two Resentful Spirits disintegrated, as if their final vitality had been obliterated. Simultaneously, the altar emitted a strong crimson glow. Amidst cries of agony, a dark matter slowly coalesced.

As time passed, it finally took shape. In the next second, like a shooting star, it flew towards Chen Feng.

"Snap!"

Chen Feng grasped it with his hand, feeling a slight pain in his palm. At that moment, it seemed the altar had completed some sort of ritual, and the surrounding space healed itself while the entity disappeared without a trace.

Opening his right hand, he saw that what appeared in his palm was not pure energy or equipment as before, but a spherical object about the size of an apple.

Fruit?

Yet, compared to ordinary fruit, the surface was like a Demon’s skin, black and covered with many irregular striations, resembling some malevolent mural. Ordinary people might even experience terrifying Illusions after staring for too long.

"Thump, thump..."

At that moment, Chen Feng’s palm suddenly quivered slightly, as if it were the heartbeat of a heart, with faint sounds coming from within.

"Eat it!"

"Eat it!"

Terrifying thoughts appeared in Chen Feng’s mind, and when he regained his senses, the [Fruit] was already raised to his chest.

Instinctively, Chen Feng tightened his grip with his right hand, enclosing the strange fruit once again, unable to imagine that it was emanating tempting whispers!

This was some sort of beguilement Magic, capable of distracting an enemy during battle, and then delivering a fatal blow!

Chen Feng hadn’t anticipated that such an unassuming fruit could wield this power, especially since he hadn’t sensed any life force within it, ruling out the possibility of it being an egg or a spawn—it was indeed a fruit!

A bizarre item!

Chen Feng didn’t hesitate to label it dangerous.

Even though he could ascertain it as some kind of fruit, the transformations it might trigger after consumption were unfathomable. More importantly, it exuded the purest Chaos Energy!

This is the purest energy of the Abyss. Excessive consumption could even turn one into a real Demon.

[Demon Fruit?]

Just like how a worm evolves, requiring a vast amount of chaos energy to complete its metamorphosis, a fruit like this could very well give birth to a frightening Demon.

Should I experiment with it?

Chen Feng shook his head, dismissing his own suggestion. The fruit came from exchanging the corpses of two legendary beings, making it incredibly valuable. It felt exorbitant to give it recklessly to a common Demon.

Thankfully, Order now gathers a number of Demons, making this fruit serve well as a reward. If any Demon performs well, it might be granted to them to see if any mutations occur!

Chen Feng stored the fruit in the Broken Dimension. During his time in the Abyss, he hadn’t let the Dimension absorb its energy, intending to build the Dimension into a blueprint for his Celestial Kingdom. Adding too much Chaos Energy might turn it into a second Abyss!

Chaos Energy has a horrifyingly corrosive and assimilative power. Inside the Broken Dimension are numerous mutated beasts and bugs. If tainted by Chaos Energy, they could undergo metamorphosis, veering towards Demonization.

This isn’t a scenario Chen Feng wants. Therefore, only in the Human World can he continue channeling energy into the Dimension!

The threats of the Frost Giant and Lanta are resolved, and he even managed to warn the Legendary Flame Demon and obtain a peculiar fruit, all considered small gains.

Chen Feng still has some matters for Elwin to handle. Compared to the earlier ploy to entice Lanta for an attack, he was delayed en route. On the return, with full thrust, he reaches the town within ten minutes.

The place remains bustling, unaware that amid this time, two once-prominent powerhouses have met their untimely demise.

"Master, you smell of blood. Did some reckless fool make a move against you?" Elwin asks upon seeing Chen Feng, a change in her expression betraying the thick scent of blood.

"Nothing much. Lanta and the Frost Giant ambushed me on the way, but I’ve slain them both. During the kill, they naturally couldn’t carry all their assets. You should personally check their rooms; you might stumble upon something valuable." With his formidable summoning abilities, no one at the same level poses a threat to Chen Feng, so an aura of supreme authority, like a ruler over life, emits imperceptibly from him, instilling fear!

Initially hearing that someone attacked Chen Feng, Elwin’s eyes narrow with killing intent. However, learning the adversaries were slain dampens that intent significantly. Truly, compared to the esteemed Frost Giant, against her Master, they’re akin to fireflies against the sun and moon—utterly incomparable!

"I’ll return to the Human World at once. The management here remains yours; before that, I’ve some instructions to relay!" Dead men hold no worth, and Chen Feng refrains from mentioning Lanta further.

"Please, Master," Elwin responds respectfully.

"Due to the auctioning of Vicna’s Dharma Eye, Order’s crafted weapons have caught every merchant’s eye. Henceforth, the sales volume should be increased—not limited to just hundreds or thousands!"

Elwin listens closely but shows slight unease. "Master, the merchants have long coveted the weapons; selling them won’t be an issue—they’ll buy as many as there are. But replenishing enemy factions with too many weapons might hinder the town’s development!"

In this wicked land, invasion is part of everyday life. The town often raids other factions for slaves. Elwin worries that providing too many weapons to these merchants could impact future conquests.

Chen Feng replies, "No need to worry. The weapons of Order innovate constantly. Compared to those sold in the Abyss, the third-generation enhanced equipment is under development. Once war begins, they’ll easily shatter those old models! Besides, I’ve commissioned the craftsmen to craft a thousand longbows and ten thousand arrows, each arrow laced with potent venom. Keep them safely stored."

Hearing this, Elwin’s eyes brighten, and she bows, "Thank you for your generosity, Master!"

Elwin lifts her gaze, eyes twinkling like stars. As predicted, her Master is always one step ahead. The so-called sales are merely ways to eliminate old equipment, while collecting wealth to provide the Order with more ores and vital crafting materials!

Truly killing two birds with one stone. Besides, with the specially crafted longbows and venomous arrows, her might only increases further. Soon, she’ll be able to subjugate even more minor factions nearby!

"All right, leaving you in charge reassures me. Keep up the great work, and I’ll repay you generously." Chen Feng pats Elwin’s shoulder. A black rift forms, its energy contrasting the Abyss’s, being gentle and abundant.

Without hesitation, Chen Feng strides into the rift and disappears from sight.
