Chapter 786 - 771: Impure
A monster that should never have been born was pushed onto the stage, covered in blood and wrapped in countless iron chains. Special energy-consuming equipment was nailed into its chest, back, and limbs. Yet, the uncontrollable legendary power emanating from it was still palpable to the surrounding crowd.
A monster with a mix of demon and devil bloodlines, standing about one and a half meters tall, similar in build to a Timid Demon, with a pair of signature Demon Horns on its head and a slender tail unique to devils at its back, and a single eye positioned in the center of its face.
That eye didn’t emit the usual red glow of hatred, nor did it show any resentment; instead, it resembled the world’s filthiest mire, slowly dragging in anyone who looked into it.
The stench of rot filled the air.
Chen Feng paused; this wasn’t a real odor but an alternate dimension created by that eye. At this moment, Chen Feng didn’t resist. Instead, he relaxed his mind, wanting to see just how terrifying this creature’s ability truly was.
Almost instantly, the bustling venue transformed into a massive pit the size of a football field, filled with dark sludge, littered with various body parts, hands, bones, eyeballs, and severed heads.
This was not a mire but a mass grave.
The entire football field was filled with the dead, though there were no tedious resurrection scenes. Even so, being in such a bizarre environment kept one’s Spiritual Power in a state of tension.
"Plop."
A pair of hands suddenly grabbed Chen Feng’s feet, amidst the skeletal remains and floating severed heads. In this setting, filled with bizarre absurdity, the emergence of these hands pushed fear to its peak.
Chen Feng neither screamed nor struggled; he reached out his hand and, without any thought, plunged it into the sludge, groping around until he grasped something like waterweeds and pulled upward, revealing a delicately shaped body before him.
A Desire Demon.
From its physique, Chen Feng identified its original race. However, its face was in a state of severe decay, with pus oozing from its eyes and a gaping wound seemingly gnawed by something, through which one could see the writhing tongue.
The Desire Demon appeared to be in severe pain, seemingly wanting to convey some information to Chen Feng. However, due to its bodily state, it couldn’t produce any sound; each struggle resulted in a mixture of blood and sludge seeping from the broken hole on its face.
This caused Chen Feng some discomfort, not from fear but disgust.
A flame suddenly appeared above the mire, without warning, descending upon the sludge. Initially just a single flame, it rapidly multiplied into a dense cluster, the terrifying heat sweeping over the mire. At the same time, the Desire Demon in Chen Feng’s grasp seemed to sense something, opening its mouth wide and uttering a sound a hundred times more grating than glass shattering before abruptly exploding with a "bang."
Instinctively, Chen Feng closed his eyes, and when he reopened them, the surroundings had returned to normal. In contrast to the previously excited spectators, many now appeared disheveled, some even sitting on the ground. Nearby, a Four-armed Serpent Demon lay with wide eyes, its heart no longer beating.
It died of fright!
Chen Feng was unsure whether the scene the demon saw was the same as his own, but what he could ascertain was that this monster was peculiar!
After some observation, Chen Feng sensed several bloodline powers within the creature, including those of Judgment Soul Demon, Desire Demon, Scorpion Demon, and other dark entities.
A hybrid!
A pure hybrid!
Without needing to fight, the creature caused widespread damage just by being looked at, undeniably a dreadful monster.
This could not be a naturally born species.
Involving so many bloodlines, with three being of demons alone, plus demon and dark creature bloodlines, this monster had at least over ten different monster genes.
The pain it endured made the creature restless, enveloped by a powerful field of Spiritual Energy and tinged with a demonic aura. Its face squirmed before suddenly sprouting six nauseating tentacles, its skin shifting from red to pale purple.
Its strength shifted from soul attacks to the brutish, manic aura of an Ogre. The monster tried to break free from its restraints, yet the chains and iron bars piercing its body were all Alchemy Items, preventing its escape despite any struggle.
Chen Feng’s brow furrowed slightly.
The creature had transformed into another monster, changing its aura, appearance, and even skin color - conditions that typically accompanied a being’s lifetime shifted in an instant!
With the monster’s transformation, the surroundings fell silent. The spectators were not terrified by the death of a companion; rather, after witnessing such an astonishing change, their expressions grew particularly bright with a mix of fear and excitement.
The fear stemmed from the creature’s horror - should it break free, survival for anyone below legendary status was impossible. Yet the excitement was because such a mighty being was bound on a stage, akin to a slave, invoking a feeling of superiority in the spectators, intoxicated with the idea of oppressing a powerful being.
The one who created this monster must be a true madman.
Elwin was very satisfied with the audience’s expression. She understood the concept of rarity being prized; regardless of whether others buy or need it, as long as it captivates the audience’s interest, the auction would be more than half successful.
She glanced around and continued, "This is a creature crafted by a great Caster, containing the blood of thirteen different monsters. Due to special reasons, every hour, its bloodlines will restructure, transforming it into a new species."
"The creature is fearsome, possessing lethal power. However, one cannot deny that it is also a magnificent collectible. Owning it equates to owning many legendary slaves!"
"The seller wishes to remain anonymous, and the auction respects that choice. Therefore, I negotiate the value of the auction item on your behalf."
"The seller requires a batch of food. Interested participants may begin the bidding now..."
