Chapter 328: Deterioration
Loren quickly pulled his hand back, now feeling extremely awkward to the extreme.
If others had seen it, Loren wouldn't have reacted much either; they would probably have genuinely thought Loren simply wanted to feel Naclis's heartbeat.
But Anna was different. She was prone to misunderstanding. Normally, if Loren went out alone with someone else, Anna would think Loren had gone to do something shady.
Loren really didn't know how to explain this to Anna. The more you explain this kind of thing, the more wrong it feels. No matter how you explain it, it sounds like trying to cover something up.
"I have a bit of a headache, I'm going back first..."
Loren patted Naclis's hair and walked back to his bedroom.

So, the bored Loren could only tease the bird. But Starnight was too clever. Even if he taught her some trick, Loren felt no sense of accomplishment.
Even before Loren obtained [Everything Has a Spirit], he could already talk to Starnight. If he wanted her to do something, he didn't need to train her at all. He could just tell her directly. He didn't even need food as a reward.
