Miss Witch’s Devotion Has Gone… Twisted

Chapter 109: Endless Sea

"Children, we're heading out for a sea voyage."

Loren called out, and the children began packing their luggage, leaving Mara utterly dumbfounded.

She usually stayed at sea and was most aware of its dangers, yet Loren and the others were treating it like a vacation.

However, Loren wasn't actually that relaxed either. The sea truly held some dangers. Loren knew the characteristics and weaknesses of every monster in the ocean, but that didn't eliminate the one-in-ten-thousand chance of danger. It was still too risky.

Fortunately, Loren still had a trump card to avoid that one-in-ten-thousand danger.

Originally, Loren hadn't planned to bring the children on this trip, but he would be away for a very long time. In the end, Loren still chose to bring them.

The witches didn't take long to pack, basically just changing their clothes, since a massive amount of supplies were already stored in Scarlett's Life Thief space. Bringing Scarlett on a trip was practically invincible.

"Have you planned the route?"

Before setting off, Loren asked Mara.

"Naturally. First, we'll take a carriage to the territory of the God of Pain. Then we'll transfer there, head to the area of the God of Vows and Wind, blend into the city, and once we reach the coast, I can summon my ghost ship." Hearing Mara's plan, Loren shook his head.

"Only you are wanted. How about this: you proceed with your plan. We'll first take a luxury train to the territory of the God of Pain, have some fun there for a while, then transfer to a luxury carriage to enter the territory of the God of Vows and Wind. Finally, we'll wait for you there while enjoying ourselves."

"..."

Mara fell silent for a moment, then ultimately nodded.

Loren's attitude actually made Mara feel more at ease. Loren acted like a pampered noble who couldn't bear the slightest hardship, dragging along a bunch of deadweight, posing no real threat to her.

Her thinking wasn't wrong. Loren truly disliked suffering for no reason. Normally, if he could ride a carriage, he would never walk;

if he could lie down, he wouldn't sit. But if something really happened, he wouldn't utter a sound even if his arm were broken.

Moreover, Loren actually could take Mara along. Given Loren's status, as long as Mara slightly covered her face, Loren could take her anywhere. Even if her face were seen by the Scarecrows, it wouldn't matter. Loren was doing this purely to annoy Mara.

However, once they reached the territory of the God of Vows and Wind, Loren's identity as Master Mentor wouldn't be of much use either. No one had privileges there.

"Alright, no time to waste. You set off first. We still have to wait for a luxury train."

"..."

Mara felt a pang in her heart. She really wanted to lament the injustice of the world, but since she was the one asking for help, she said nothing and silently left.

This was also the purpose of Loren's earlier words. Indeed, their interests aligned, and it should have been a partnership, but Loren had forcefully turned it into Mara unilaterally seeking help from Loren.

"Master Mentor, where are we going this time?"

After Mara left, Anna sidled up to Loren and asked.

"To the sea, to find the Strength card."

"What kind of person is that Mara anyway?"

Naclis also asked. Just looking at Mara's face made her feel uncomfortable. She felt Mara wasn't a good person.
