Yandere Levelling in Her World

Chapter 203 - 204: Sadness of Death

Because standing there floating in mid air, right in front of the massive red monster, was a man. He was much older than she remembered, his handsome face lined with the heavy burdens of time and endless suffering, but she identified him rather well. She would know that face anywhere, in any lifetime, in any loop they lived.

It was none other than Ren. He was the god of this broken world, the man she loved more than anything in existence.

And Chiyo's glowing an dark dagger was buried deep into his chest.

He had willingly taken the fatal blow meant for the beast.

Chiyo let go of the dagger's hilt as if it burned her. She threw her arms desperately around Ren's neck, hugging him tight as hot blood spilled from his open wound onto her torn clothes.

"Why?" Chiyo sobbed loudly, burying her face deeply into his shoulder. "Why did you come back here? Why did you do this to me?"

Ren smiled softly despite the blood pooling in his mouth. He looked so incredibly tired, yet so peaceful at the same time. He slowly raised a weak, trembling hand and touched Chiyo's dirty cheek. His thumb gently wiped away the tears falling down her face.

"Because I have to," Ren muttered, his voice weak but full of undeniable warmth. "It is my curse."

He looked deep into her tear filled eyes one last time, trying to memorize every detail of her face before the darkness took him. Then, his hand slipped slowly from her cheek, falling to his side. He closed his eyes gently, his chest stopping its rise and fall. He died right there, wrapped in her arms.

"Ren! No, please wake up!" Chiyo screamed into the empty sky, holding his lifeless body as tight as she could.

Suddenly, the massive red monster behind them let out a roar louder than anything it had produced before. It was a sound of absolute agony and sheer heartbreak. It was as if the monster had felt Ren's tragic death deeply in its very soul.

The beast struggled with a terrifying, renewed strength born from pure grief. It thrashed so violently that the golden dragon could no longer hold it in place. One by one, the red monster brutally tore the remaining five heads off the golden dragon. The Qi shattered completely, turning to useless dust in the wind.

Without her magical power to sustain her flight, and with her heart completely broken into pieces, Chiyo lost her ability to stay in the air.

She let go of Ren's limp body as the monster's wild thrashing knocked her backward forcefully. She began to fall. The cold wind rushed past her ears as she plummeted rapidly toward the dark, raging sea far below.

Chiyo did not try to stop her fall. She did not try to summon any more power or save herself. She simply looked up at the grey sky, staring at the fading light of her broken dragon and the falling body of her dead lover.

She closed her eyes gently, a sad, truly peaceful smile forming on her bloody lips.

"I love you, Ren," she muttered softly into the howling wind. "My darling."

Then, the dark, freezing waters of the sea swallowed her whole.

Meanwhile, Ren and Anna was walking out of the mansion with a satisifed look on their faces.

The grand estate behind them, once a symbol of opulent greed, now stood silent and emptied of its treasures. The captive they had been holding, a corrupt millionaire who had hoarded wealth while the common people starved, while giving contracts to kill liberators.

Ren adjusted the heavy sack slung over his shoulder, filled with gold bars, jewels, and priceless artifacts they had liberated. Anna walked beside him, her steps light and confident, a small smile playing on her lips as the evening sun cast long shadows across the manicured lawns.

"That went smoother than I expected," Ren said, glancing back at the mansion. "The old fool didn't even put up a fight once we showed her what were capable of."

Anna nodded, her eyes sparkling with triumph. "Years of exploiting the poor caught up to her. Now, her riches will fuel the revolution."

As they reached the gravel path leading to the main road, Anna's phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out and checked the screen. "It's the leader," she said, her voice dropping to a whisper. She answered the call, pressing the device to her ear. "Leader? It's Anna."

The voice on the other end was urgent and worried. "Anna! Thank goodness you're alive. Are you safe? What about the others? We've heard reports of chaos everywhere."

Anna kept her tone steady, even as she scanned the horizon for any signs of pursuit. "We were under attack earlier, but I managed to escape. Right now, I'm tracking down everyone responsible for the assault. They won't get away with it."

The leader's response was immediate. "Come back to base right away. We need to regroup and plan our next move together. It's too dangerous out there alone."

Anna shook her head, though the leader couldn't see it. "It's fine, Leader. I have Ren with me, and he's helping."

There was a pause, followed by a skeptical chuckle. "Ren? What good is one man? You need the full force of our group behind you. We have dozens ready to fight."

Anna smiled, casting a sidelong glance at Ren, who was busy inspecting a glittering necklace from the sack. "You'll see, Leader. Just take care of yourself. The attacks have halted for now. Gather as many as you can and prepare to strike back hard."

She muttered a quick goodbye and ended the call, slipping the phone back into her pocket. Ren looked up from the loot, his eyes gleaming with greed as he eyed the assortment of valuables. "I guess we need to throw these things to the common folks out there in the free side after turning them into money," he muttered, weighing a gold bar in his hand.

Anna laughed softly. "Well, that's a job for the Liberators, not us. We have better things to do." She nudged him playfully. "So, what's the next house on our list? We've got momentum now. Let's keep hitting these corrupt elites where it hurts."

Ren opened his mouth to respond, pulling out a crumpled map from his jacket, but before he could speak, a brilliant red and golden light exploded across the sky. It spread like wildfire, painting the clouds in eerie hues and casting an unnatural glow over everything.

The air grew thick with an oppressive energy, and both Ren and Anna felt a deep disturbance ripple through their bodies, like a wave of foreboding.

"What now?" Ren asked, his voice laced with irritation as he shielded his eyes from the blinding light.

Suddenly, a chilling sensation crept over him, as if icy fingers were tracing down his spine. Anna felt it too; her face paled, and she dropped everything she was holding, the items clattering to the ground. Without a word, she lunged forward and hugged Ren tightly, her arms wrapping around him like a vice.

Ren looked down at her, confused. "What are you doing? Anna, snap out of it."

But Anna's eyes were filled with tears, streaming down her cheeks as she clung to him. "Please don't die, Ren," she whispered, her voice breaking. "Please... don't leave me."

Ren's confusion deepened, but a knot of unease twisted in his gut. He knew something was terribly wrong, something beyond the light in the sky. He held her close, scanning the surroundings for threats, but the world seemed frozen in that moment of unnatural stillness.

Meanwhile, in a distant tower overlooking the city, Judith stood by the window, her gaze drawn to the same ominous light spreading across the heavens. Her eyes welled up with tears, unbidden and inexplicable. She pressed a hand to her chest, wondering what the hell was happening to her. It felt like a piece of her soul was being torn away, a grief she couldn't place.

A knock at the door interrupted her thoughts. A woman with striking purple hair entered the room. It was Spitter, one of Judith's trusted aides, her face etched with concern. "Mother, I have news about Silver," Spitter said, holding a folder tightly. "She's disappeared. No trace after the last raid. Our scouts are combing the area, but... it's not looking good."

Judith wiped her tears away quickly, but not before Spitter noticed. The purple-haired woman raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Are you alright, mother? I've never seen you like this."

Judith straightened, forcing composure. "Send more people and find out what happened to her. I won't let any of my daughters die or disappear again like this." Her voice was firm, but the tears lingered in her eyes, a mystery even to her.

Why was she crying? What is she crying for? She had never seen her own tears! This was a mystery to her.
