Chapter 305: Death of Kira
All the attacks merged halfway, creating a mix that they had never seen before, a combination of all of them that formed into some sort of dark purple blast, rushing right at Ironclaw.
Aren looked down and saw this attack, and for a moment there, he felt something other than worry and fear, he felt proud, proud of the people that he had made friends with.
Ironclaw looked at the incoming attack and very quickly, he placed both hands into the ground, and then stack after stack after stack of metal walls rose from the ground one after the other, reaching over fifty-three feet thick before him.
The attack slammed into the wall, blasting through the first with ease and continued to rip through one after the other until it blasted through all, and even if the power was greatly reduced, the attack managed to reach Ironclaw and slam into his chest so hard that he was thrown back faster than a bullet. He slammed into the ground hard and rolled for a few hundred meters before finally coming to a stop.
His suit was burned completely and his chest had a massive red bruise. He rose to his feet again, but Aren already came from above, all the wyverns attacked at the same time, their blasts ripping through the air.
Ironclaw stomped the ground and a dome of metal formed over him and protected him as the blasts slammed into it. The dome cracked and deformed, but the attacks didn’t manage to get through, not until Aiden swung down with all his might, channeling the power of his armor.
"Arghhhhhhgghhg"
He swung and the sword cut right through the dome, going for the head of Ironclaw.
"Stage three," Ironclaw muttered, and instantly his entire body was covered in metal, his skin now shined with that beautiful silver look. The sword met with his head and bounced off, sparks flying in every direction.
"To think you brats would push me to use stage three, you have my respect, but this is where it ends," Ironclaw said, and then threw a punch so fast that it caused a sonic boom.
Aren crossed his arms fast to block the attack, thinking he could take it, but as the fist slammed into his arms, his entire body caved. He coughed blood before being hurled back through the air.
He had blocked that attack, but even then he somehow got hurled back and suffered that much damage. That was the force behind that punch and the strength of stage three.
Ironclaw leapt into the air fast, chasing after Aren to finish this.
"We have to help," Aiden said.
"I’m on it," Kira said, and then she pressed her hands against the ground and a pillar of ice rose into the air very fast, headed for where she predicted Aren would be. She needed to be delicate with what she did to ensure that she didn’t mess this up, and she managed to do it. The pillar intercepted Aren and Ironclaw, it was meant to buy enough time for Aren to recover, but Ironclaw was not even stopped for a second. He blasted through the pillar like it was not there at all and then proceeded to grab Aren by the neck and hurl him into the ground extremely fast.
Aren slammed into the ground hard, a crater formed where he hit the ground. Ironclaw proceeded to lock his hands together and head downward to deliver a hammer slam.
Aiden reacted first and charged there, and so did the others behind him. He pulled his sword back and then attacked Ironclaw, only for Ironclaw to parry the attack, then slide midair and punch Aiden in the guts and send him flying, but that was enough time for Aren to do something as, from the crater, he raised a hand and immediately unleashed a wyvern blast at Ironclaw that knocked him back into the air. Then he proceeded to summon the guardian serpent that formed and lunged into the air, mouth wide and ready to swallow Ironclaw.
Ironclaw was unfazed though, even after seeing the massive snake that was facing him. He pulled his hands back and then unleashed a barrage of punches, each one ripping through the air and slamming into the snake. Even though the snake kept pressing, the attacks it was taking were heavy and damaging it.
’His strength is unreal,’ Aren, who had gotten to his feet, thought to himself. He had very little that could now stand against a being like Ironclaw. He now saw why they were at the pinnacle and he wasn’t yet, and this fact alone enraged him. He was giving it his all and yet barely anything was working.
He decided to summon Casper. He appeared beside Aren and was ready to go. But the very moment he summoned Casper, Blade, who was locked in battle with Geisha, turned his head. Rage filled him as he realized that Aren was about to use his child as a summon in battle. Back then, he was held by his word, but now he didn’t care anymore. This criminal wanted to use his child.
Without hesitation, he turned around and charged in the direction of Aren. Geisha saw that and was immediately about to move after Blade, but Silver stepped in. He pressed his palm on his chest and took out a crystal. He crushed the purple crystal and a fog surrounded him and merged into his body.
Geisha looked at him. "Did you just consume a high spirit?" he asked.
"It’s one of my treasures, but seeing I am battling you, I do not have a choice but to use it." After saying that, Silver spread his arms apart and over two hundred ten feet long spikes of metal formed in the air, all covered in purple runes now.
Geisha looked at them and then he smiled. "Getting really interesting now," he said with a calm smile, the kind you had when you still believed that you would be the winner. He wasn’t bothered at all, he even waited for them to attack first.
[.....]
Aren sensed Blade heading his way and instantly knew the trouble had increased, so he did what he thought was best there. He sent Casper against his own father in a panic. That was a mistake, because there was only one person that could actually handle the power of Casper aside from Aiden, because he knew that weakness, and that was Blade.
In the panic of battle, Aiden had forgotten this very crucial fact, and so after sending Casper at Blade, he summoned the giant, wanting to use the giant to take down Ironclaw along with the guardian serpent. He had basically summoned his strongest shadows and now the toll was heavy on him, but he believed that would work, not until he sensed the blade of Blade rip right through Casper like it was nothing, while at the same time Blade was still moving toward Aren with the kind of hate that would make any heart tremble.
At that very moment, Ironclaw also activated stage four, which created multiple balls of black-looking metal in the air, easily in the thousands, and all were targeted at Aren.
’What’s going on? Everything is scrambled, what do I do? Escape to the void? But my friends are here, I can’t move fast enough, I’ll not escape this encirclement. A full-on clash would hurt my friends, they’ll die if I move.
I am at the only distance away that can save all of them, to my right is Athena and Zero and to my left is Aiden and Kira, dodging in either direction would bring the threat closer to them.
Shadow form? Can I use that now? Those black balls seem to be oozing with soul energy and so does the sword of Blade, there is no way that shadow form can help, I’ll die for sure.
What do I do? What do I do? My shadows can’t help now, even my greatest defense can’t take on two men that are gods, basically.’
Aren’s mind for the first time ever became an utterly jumbled-up mess. He had no idea what to do, so he charged ahead, no, not him, his body did. He charged at the enemy before him with his sword in hand and didn’t care about the fact that those black metal balls had now been shot and were headed his way, all targeting him.
His mind was so jumbled that he didn’t even think to use his best shadows as a shield to block one attack, and even if he wanted to, his soul energy was so low now that he wouldn’t be able to take the attack of Blade in front of him. The drawbacks of the situation were far too great.
As his sword clashed with that of Blade, a thunderous shockwave ripped through the air. And for the first time, his shadow armor and dark armor were blasted right off him and his bare chest was slashed through by the shockwaves, blood gushing in every direction as he was flung backwards.
He expected that the balls would now hit his bare, exposed back and end this all, but suddenly a hand wrapped around him, it was delicate, a hand he remembered.
Kira
She created an ice wall as thick as she could as she hugged him from behind, but the balls smashed through and shattered it all, their speeds reduced but still lethal.
She understood that those balls would rip through her and hit Aren, so she immediately chucked him to the ground, and before she could get down herself, the balls slammed into her, ripping through her, the side of her head, waist, body, every part of her was mutilated in seconds, and what remained collapsed to the ground with a soft smile on her face, the light in her eyes already gone.
The world froze.
