SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows

Chapter 287: Karmela mystery

When Aren looked at her, he instantly knew that she was Karmela, there was no way he wouldn’t recognize her, the calm presence, the softness in her movements, it was definitely her.

"Karmela," Aren muttered, shocked to see her walk out to Nathan in the cold, she carried a gaze that could shatter the hardest of hearts and a soft, warm smile.

She stretched out her hands at Nathan, she was also dressed as a scientist, but Nathan didn’t seem to fear her, rather he wanted to meet her.

"I know you are going through hell now, Nathan, but leaving is impossible, if you live you’ll freeze to death in the dead zone ahead, there is no way you survive if you don’t awaken," she said calmly.

"I don’t know how to," Nathan responded.

"Well I believe you will soon, and when you do, I’ll leave the door open for you to be able to escape, but for now that’s not possible as you’ll die if you leave."

"What if I want to die?" Nathan asked. She looked at Nathan, she could see why he would ask that question, but she didn’t respond, simply stretching her hand to him and taking him back.

Aren watched this, and then watched another scene of the same nature, and when he was done, it was simple to say that Aren was now seething, the rage that he currently felt right now was unlike anything that he had felt before.

"She could have saved me, and she watched me suffer? For what? What in hell could have been the reason why she watched me while Loki toyed with my life?" Aren was seething at this point.

The memories kept playing until finally Nathan awakened and snapped, this was the memory that Aren recalled from a while back, he watched Nathan take down all the guards and then leave the organization into the snow, the snow was cold and biting, but for some reason Nathan didn’t feel it, he kept walking through it until he made it to the edge of the dead zone and there he saw Karmela standing there.

"Good job," she said like she was genuinely happy for him.

"I don’t want to remember," Nathan suddenly said, he looked at her with eyes pleading, "I don’t want to remember all of it, I want to be happy, please." He muttered as tears streamed down his eyes.

Karmela watched this and her heart broke, she could no longer stand and do nothing, she walked over and placed her hand on Nathan’s shoulder. "I’ll help you use your own power and create a shadow mind, I don’t know how long this will last, but whenever you recall your past, I’ll come and reseal them for you again and ensure that you remain safe and away from all your troubles," Karmela said and then proceeded to do what she had to do to seal his memories.

The shadow mind was created and all that pain was gone. Aren then watched Nathan live as an orphan without his memories and he managed to regain them twice but some laws came and reset it, Aren knew it was Karmela.

"Not only did she help, she constantly sealed my memories?" Aren asked in anger, he had gained all the memories that he had lost, but he was no longer the same person, Aren now knew what happened, and it only deepened his hate.

[...]

Aren on the outside had pushed the angel back so far that they were now out of the statue that was already collapsing and in the air, the angel kept trying to attack but no matter what it did, Aren managed to evade the attack.

Seeing that this was the case, the angel decided to go all out now and take down Aren.

"I’ll show you just how far the gap is, behold!" His voice thundered as he flashed and a massive blood red arc cut through the air, definitely wide enough to slash through the entire mountain for sure, Aren wasted no time, he turned his wyvern up to evade the attack, but even moving that fast would not be enough to dodge the attack, so he had to find another way.

"Shadow Domain," Aren yelled and for the first time created the largest domain he had ever done, one which was several times bigger and more powerful, it trapped the angel right inside and completely destroyed the attack that was headed his way.

The angel was stunned by the turn of events, but he didn’t allow it to get to him, he looked around the darkness of the domain and he knew that this domain was surely where Aren had the most power, so he decided to do something he didn’t think he would need to at all.

"Divine art, Severence." After saying that, blood red slashes larger than the last attack that he used ripped through the air, their numbers more than a hundred all at the same time, they slammed into the domain from the inside and ripped it open with force, helping the angel escape, and then he pointed his finger at Aren.

"Severence," he called out and the same attack was unleashed toward Aren.

Aren would surely be turned into minced meat if the attack hit him, yet he looked calm, he flew forward with the wyvern, controlling it as fast as he could, evading slash after slash very quickly as he reached for the angel, but there was a limit to what the wyvern could do, and that showed as one slash ripped into it, throwing Aren into the air, but Aren didn’t stop for even a moment, he summoned his hammer very fast and hurled it at the angel, while he fell forward very fast as well, barely managing to evade the slashes.

The angel saw the hammer and wanted to block it easily, only for Aren to snap his finger and the hammer grew in size rapidly until it was the size of a house.
