Chapter 426 - 164: New Era, Trend Followers Emerged (Part 2)
Two sessions of professional courses, yet Luo Xi felt as if she was facing a formidable enemy. She believed that her will, as strong as steel, would definitely get her through these two sessions.
However, sleep is a physiological issue. Sometimes when drowsiness hits, even the strongest will can be destroyed.
Forcing herself through half of the class, the chalk characters on the blackboard started to wriggle like tadpoles in Luo Xi’s eyes, and there were more and more of them.
After a while, the class belle felt that thousands and thousands of little tadpoles were rushing towards her, swimming around her, forming a tadpole army that seemed ready to attack at any moment, so brazen.
Hallucinations, they’re just hallucinations.
These tadpoles, they’re not real!
However, Luo Xi rubbed her eyes desperately, yet still saw the tadpole army.
She couldn’t hear anything from people or things around her either.
The class belle suddenly panicked. Am I in a dream?
Why didn’t anyone wake me up?
I really can’t fall asleep!
Just as she was getting anxious, a dazzling golden light suddenly descended from the sky. It came with a brilliant radiance that fiercely shattered the tadpole army, scattering countless little tadpoles like birds and beasts.
A meteor?
Was it a meteor coming to save me?
Luo Xi was both shocked and delighted.
The golden light faded, revealing its true form.
It wasn’t a meteor at all, but a forefinger.
Luo Xi was dumbfounded.
What the heck is this...
The class belle was startled and returned to reality.
Upon looking again, there was no tadpole army; she was still in the classroom.
"Ah Xi, you’re finally awake!"
Nanaz, sitting next to her, breathed a sigh of relief.
"What happened to me?"
The class belle looked confused.
"You tilted your head and fell asleep on the desk. We tried pinching and tickling you, even pinched your philtrum, but nothing worked. Fortunately, there was the class monitor!"
Nanaz explained.
"The class monitor?"
Luo Xi instinctively turned to look, only to see Su Zelin still holding a pose with a finger point, deeply hiding his merits and fame.
"Ah Xi, how was my One Yang Finger?"
The rogue playfully imitated Kyo Kusanagi from "The King of Fighters" and blew on his forefinger.
The class belle was astonished.
Others couldn’t wake me up, yet he managed to do it with a poke.
Seems like this finger technique really works!
Su Zelin explained seriously.
"Oh, I see!"
Everyone suddenly understood.
During these two sessions of professional courses, whenever Luo Xi dozed off, Su Zelin’s forefinger would arrive unexpectedly.
As long as the One Yang Finger poked a certain spot on the class belle’s back, she would tremble all over a few times and temporarily regain her energy.
"Ring ring ring..."
The bell signaled the end of class.
Luo Xi was instantly moved to tears.
I survived it, without letting these two classes become a stain on my college life, it wasn’t easy!
"Boss, which acupoint did you just poke? It’s amazing!"
The class belle asked curiously.
"This acupoint is very secretive, most people don’t know where it is, and its position varies slightly on everyone. But it’s believed to contain the power of human life’s origin, so a poke can stimulate potential!"
Su Zelin explained mysteriously, then added, "But this method will drain your energy, you should head back to the dorm and get a good sleep!"
"Got it, thanks a lot, boss!"
"You’re welcome! Call me anytime if needed next time!"
"Sweat, there won’t be a next time!"
"..."
After two sessions of professional courses, the afternoon classes also came to an end.
Everybody didn’t head back to the dorm together; each had their own thing to do.
Cai Wensheng left with Popcorn, Hu Xu had activities at the Social Welfare Club, Old Feng stayed in the classroom to study, Hou Yongjin went to the library, and Zeng Kaiping didn’t attend class at all.
As a result, on the way back to the dorm, only Su Zelin was left alone.
On the way to school, without the Five Jokers by his side, he still found it a bit unusual.
Back in freshman year, Room 302 always acted collectively, whether at class or after class. Everyone would chat and boast on the way, creating quite a lively scene.
Even when sophomore year just began, this hadn’t changed much, but recently it has suddenly been a bit different.
It’s not that everyone’s feelings have faded, but rather that each has matured, started planning their respective futures, gained some insight, and naturally can’t be carefree and playful like in the first year anymore.
After all, not everyone can achieve financial freedom before leaving campus like me. After graduation, there’s work pressure to face, and everyone hopes to get into a good unit or big company, so they have to work hard during school.
After graduation, it goes without saying, everyone will have their own new life, career, and family. The Five Jokers from Room 302 had quite a good relationship in college, but didn’t gather particularly often either.
However, one thing is certain, the feelings are still there; no matter what urgent matter happens, if someone needs others, they can always drop everything at hand and gather again, no matter how scattered they are across the country.
For instance, when Hou Yongjin had a serious car accident and ended up in ICU, others immediately rushed to the city where he worked.
In this lifetime, the rogue transformed into Su Banxian, even specifically reminded him to pay particular attention to transportation at a certain age, hoping to avert this disaster.
In life, is poverty the most frightening thing?
Perhaps many people think so.
But actually, it’s not.
There are things that could be worse than poverty.
For example, illness. If someone contracts a terminal disease, no matter how much money you have, it’s just numbers.
