Chapter 389: Abyssal Convergence
[Underground Cave.]
Nadia froze mid-motion. The elegant silver spoon slipped from her fingers, clattering sharply against the porcelain plate. Her sudden stillness had absolutely nothing to do with Jessica, who was still frantically kicking and striking the enchanted iron cage in the background, but was entirely due to the massive, pure shockwave of holy power echoing down from the surface.
"I thought I was mistaken in the past, but now... He is right above me." She whispered, her voice dropping to a dangerous, archaic register. She slowly stood up from her blood-stained feast, her eyes narrowing as she felt the distinct frequency of an ancient enemy.
BAM!!
Jessica gave one more desperate, agonizing punch at the cage, her hands bleeding profusely, the flesh completely torn away to the point that the white bones were now vividly showing through the wounds.
Nadia casually waved her hand without even looking back, and a suffocating, invisible wave of force smashed right into Jessica’s fragile frame. The very next moment, the girl’s eyes rolled back and she collapsed heavily onto the cold stone ground, completely unconscious.
"Should I go up there? No... Those guys are with her." Nadia muttered to herself.
"If I reveal my true presence now, I will only prematurely endanger my plans..." She exhaled a long, chilling breath and slowly sat back down in her stone chair, refocusing her consciousness to send a high-priority telepathic message directly to the panicked Carolina on the surface.
"It seems that annoying ant already successfully arrived to the second world... The Aethelgard are always so incredibly bothersome to deal with." She sighed with deep irritation, calmly picking up the glass of blood on the table once more to continue her dark feast.
"All is well."
